Es que este señor ya por default suena bonito, Ramón, una técnica extrema. Increible calidad, no fuerza absolutamente nada, no pretende canto efectista ni sobrepasado, no hay oscuridad artifical de la voz, las ideas del bel canto incluso en el verismo. En México durante las decadas pasadas los maestros enseñaban a cantar prácticamente perfecto. Tiene uno de los cantos mas equilibrados que he escuchado.
My mother took me to see Maestro Vargas at the Met, and ever since, I started listening to opera. My music professor also used his videos as an example when I went to study in Vienna. His voice sounds so natural and not forced at all. I hope he comes back to the Met soon 🙏!
Vargas does not get enough credit. This is great. Better than a lot of what you will hear in the Met, in this role, nowadays.

tuve la dicha de participar en el concurso CARLO MORELLI en la sala MANUEL M PONCE DEL PALACIO DE BELLAS ARTES y como baritono pasar a la semifinal y ver como RAMON ARTURO VARGAS y recordar que le decia arturo y no ramon saco el segundo lugar y deseando ganar el primer lugar lo abrace y en mi hombro lloro un momento diciendole no te apures ya que pronto estaras ganando este y otros premios como asi fue despues y ver como ahora triunfa en los teatros del mundo FELICIDADES APRECIABLE RAMON atentamente BARITONO ALBERTO ESPARZA GOMEZ

He de discrepar en la ausencia de técnica, para poder interpretar un aria como esta con tanto gusto y precisión en los "pianos" es preciso una técnica vocal desarrollada y fina. Interpretación exquisita a mi juicio.

Really solid, but why the stupid turn on "la speRAnza"? Why would you turn the word "hope" with the sincere swell of the music into a sort of joke? I understand there is a historical precedent for this interpolation, but it seems to have come out of the age when tenors were prone to show off. It's rather vulgar in this setting.

IMO opera lovers are born, not made. Why exactly are most of them chubby? Not dissing, just curious... There must be a good reason, I think...
The size of your voice correlates with your body. Although a smaller body can produce a bigger voice the opposite is very rare. So in operas with bigger orchestras you’ll see singers who are taller or broader. Watch some Mozart operas and you’ll find singers with different bodies.
