"Oh great, faceless guards." That rapidly became very literal.
That virus storyline is for sure going to be a part of the next season of the boys
I think Courtenay actually foreshadowed Emma's shrinking scene in this episode when she said a potential title for her show was "Feeling Small."
Yes I was just realizing that too!
*In season 3 episode 3 of “The Boys”, when Huey went to the foster home for the “super-abled”, Marie was one of the kids on the computer screen homepage for adoption. It’s super subtle but easy to catch. Can’t wait for more*
*Hughie
Yeah I saw that in a reaction video of The Boys, was crazy to see, had no idea they planned this so far back.
@@Nekotaku_TVI believe Gen V is also a comic
@@Oklahomie95 correct
I KNEW IT ok people may hate me for this but i watched gen v and then the boys and so when marie popped up on the foster computer i was like WAIT THATS HER soooo cool
Homelander on screen is honestly scarier to me than almost any horror movie or villain I've ever seen. Just his presence in that short amount of time, the moment he lands it's like the world stops moving and everyone stops breathing. Pure terror.
He's horrifying. That actor is so good.
What makes him scary isn’t being the strongest man it’s that his mind is weak and he’s basically a baby man
I kept my expectations low for this series and ended up loving it. It’s a great companion piece to the original series.
So I’m rewatching season 3 of The Boys and Marie has a cameo that’s really easy to miss. When Hughie goes to the orphanage to get info on Neuman he looks at a computer with one of the employees because he’s looking to “adopt” a kid and Marie’s picture and name is smack in the center of the computer screen.
At the end of the boys season 3 homelander basically took control of Ashley, the deep and A-train when he revealed to them he killed black noir. So Adam's question about Ashley seeing the 4 were trying to help, she'd have to do what homelander says.
When I watched Emma shrink in the finale I realized her powers are linked to emotions (feeling big/small), which means she actually DOES have an ED
Ohhh interesting point..
And her mom is the cause of it too! Thanks a million, mom.
Not necessarily. She wasn't aware her powers could be linked to her emotional state. Plus, the purging makes her feel bad about herself which helps her shrink.
@@TraceyJeanbut she did show that she had an ED when she did it for no reason and was barely able to move.
Do you realize how "fast" Sam's punch needs to be to penetrate the helmet's faceplate and the person's skull without knocking them backward?
Emma's powers must be linked to her emotions. She just have to feel "small" to shrink.
I was thinking it was the tears? Like actually, the moisture?
I agree. And her mom just made her think it was food related, attaching her emotions to her eating (disorder)
@@MrNathansdad classic toxic narcissistic momma 101!
@@MrDagonOfTheDead You think she's never cried before? lol
@northwind2538 didn't say that either LOL...
fiction, how insulting to speculate...LOL
Am I LOL'ING hard enough....
I'm calling it, Sam is going to be the new Black Noir, it just makes sense.
If that happens, we could still get a comic-related series of deaths...
Honest opinion, Homelander is the best TV villain. This episode solidified it that. Those two minutes were so anxious!
Jay looked so shellshocked after that episode, umm Turtle Power
Both: "You can feel his blood."
Me: YES! I just *LOVE* us comic book geeks! If we would get powers... we'd use them right. 🥰
I loved the formation of Cate's team this episode, it's like seeing Emma Frost lead a young Brotherhood - they did a lot of things this season I'd love to see in an X-Men series, as far as thematic beats and powers usage.
My theory has been because they are making a point of Butcher being on the outs and after Homelander gets off, that the supes of the Boys learn about the four and that becomes Annie and Kimiko’s mission while the rest try to deal with the virus and who now actually has it.
The Boys season 4 is gonna be epic
If you rewatch the series you can see Andre having lil spasms while he’s using his powers it’s a great little detail and shows of jus how good of an actor he is and jus how good this story is
Hell yeah.... When I rewatched I saw all of them.... It blew my mind and yeah the actor and the writing killed it ❤
12:11 the name does need work. My suggestion would be The God Guard. Works for one person or a group and still invokes images of protectors of God U. But I’m not in marketing so what do I know.
I thought this season's Marie storyline was really lovely. She began the season believing that she needed to prove to herself and her sister that she wasn't a monster by being a hero, but at the conclusion she realized that being a good person was all that mattered and ended up being a hero anyway. I'm excited to follow her journey in the future.
So at the very end when they are all in that room I know it's a couple things. Emma has a slushie and Jordan has a cell phone. So I wonder is it reality or is somebody messing with Marie's mind?
Oh. My. Goodness! Great catch
I didn't notice Jordan's phone..but Andre has a cell phone too .and they seem too relaxed...
Leaving them all in the same space wouldn't make sense unless some skullduggery has happened so I'm with you.
@9:56 Emma's power being tied to her emotions is interesting and something that would've been picked up on a lot sooner had her mother not forced her to be bulimic. it makes so much sense that when Sam says 'you're not a hero' she 'feels small' and shrinks...so glad you guys watched this show and i'm excited for the next season!
You guys are amazing! I'm big fan from Brazil!
17:35 The Dean Scream, haven't heard that since '07
Why did you have to bring Mary Martin into this?🤣
Also, love when your editor gets creative, 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I do as well, very clever
When Homelander showed up, for those first few seconds, nobody knew what the f was going to happen...
Here’s an idea, if there are any movies/shows nominated for award season like the golden globes or Emmy’s, you guys have a special show reviewing some of those nominated movies and shows.
17:36 He said the thing!!
And that's the finale guys!!! Gets us excited for the new season of The Boys😈😈
Nah the scene with the 2 girls freaking out about the wifi is one of my favourite bits lol
With the relatively low body count that’s being reported I wonder if Homelander is pressuring Vought to only count the Supes that were killed since that definitely fits for him
Adam’s mind is blown.
1) seems most (all?) Supes have some level of regenerative powers.
2) and once Homelander makes an audible, it's up to Vought PR to back him up
1. Where do you get that from? They all have some tougher bodies it seems like though.
@@Nekotaku_TV I mean the wiki says that Marie regenerates blood faster than regular ppl and her skin wounds heal fast as well. And in Rufus's it says that he has regenerative healing powers which is why the Jumanji stuff pretty much wasn't shown to affect him and he was also relatively okay after the penis exploding incident... He wasn't shown limping or moving weirdly AT ALL whatsoever where the actor easily could have done that. It's because he healed super fast, unfortunately.... So yeah, it does seem that most supes have regeneration of some form faster than humans... And from what we've seen in the boys and in gen v.. it seems to be healing... Marie creating blood significantly faster is a deviation from that but she also does have fast healing as well.
@@AnxietyRat Healing faster for sure, but not regen, that's one of Kimiko's powers for example.
@@Nekotaku_TV but also Gecko from The Boys and that dude who got his arms ripped off his arms in this show in EP. 1.... That's why op said that a LOT of supes have this power because the show, both shows, have shown that they do.
@@AnxietyRat But these are special cases, we don't know is all I'm saying.
Adam wearing that shirt is ironic this shows Arc had some great Reactors (had to stretch for that pun lol)
This show was so damn beyond amazing. I was not excited to watch it AT ALL! I thought it was gonna be lame and I was WROOOOONNNGGG!!
Never again am I going to doubt a show that is in this universe. Ever. The Boys and Gen V are just masterclasses in merging TV shows together!
I love that this finale didn't waste any time. It when straight to business
Go Cate and Sam!! But, also....Go Butcher and The Boys!!
Man I love getting that notification that u guys have uploaded
Yeah, this show had the best twist at the end. I've got to assume that more is going on that what we saw here. My questions, is Shetty actually dead or was that just planted in their minds? Was getting Kate onto the Seven part of the plan so she would have access to Homelander and the others? This might not be the end game, Shetty wants Homelander dead, and she is/was very good at playing a long game.
For god's sake, Shetty is DEAD. Her arc was finished. I had to argue with people about this before Episode 8 even premiered and there's apparently STILL people who think she's somehow alive.
Mmmmm Whataburger...anyway...this show pulled a clever lil trick at the end by switching Prof X and Magneto's roles, and we didn't see it coming all season. Pretty sneaky!
My theory is that Rufus must know somebody with healing powers, or maybe the student medical center has one.
There's a Wiki for this TV show and it says that Rufus has regenerative healing powers which is why he's able to move around perfectly fine after both genital incidences. So yeah it's not that he knows somebody who can heal him... it's that he can heal SUPER fast.
The only thing we know with absolute surety about The Boys and now this show is that it will be COMPLETELY f'd up! 🤯 Can't wait for season 4!
That finale was crazy and cameos were perfect :)
5:20 Sam really got into those guards heads.
Supposedly the running plan for the “boys verse” is to bounce between gen-v and the boys
5:19 no, the last guard eats a knuckle sandwich on their way out when Cate tells him to
It takes a several seconds but if Marie could learn to stop the flow of blood in the carotid artery she could easily knock people unconsious.
Headpopper’s back 🎶
The swiftness of Sam's transformation was really dissatisfying and partly contributes to my believing that somehow much of the finale was the "last push" Shetty requested from Cate. On that note, Cate's transformation from trusting and needy in the scene with her solo confrontation with Shetty into murderous sup supremacist in her next scene with the rest of the kids rang false too. But back on Sam, the way he turned on Emma, didn't just ring false for saying she wasn't a hero, but accusing her of doing anything to get people to like her would seem to me to require more emotional intelligence than I think he has, and insight into her insecurities he couldn't have spent enough time with her to gain. Emma was the principal member of the main cast who didn't participate in the collective psychodrama that forced everyone to confront their skeletons and insecurities in Cate's head. But if she had, I imagine she would have experienced something exactly as cutting, as calculated to strike her to her core, as what Sam delivered.
You're looking way too deep into things. Sam is just a sheltered and easily influenced kid that fell to the red hat/red pill narrative of the pro-sups (Rufus and the conference). And he had plenty of reason to transform given the lifetime of torture and medication by humans like Cardoza and Shetty.
@@viktorstagnetti7491Sure, but it still happened too quickly, and both his turning on Emma and Cate's turnaround rang false to me. Maybe those false notes will be sustained, but a "last push" by Cate, the possibility of which can't be ignored, might explain much of what happened in the end. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Shetty's still alive and that whatever went down didn't go down as we were shown.
On an added note, if things really happened as we were shown, it's difficult to believe Vought could successfully spin the narrative they did when so many of the students were live streaming it. If what we saw was shown to the world, that's what Vought would have run with, but that's not what they ran with.
Wasn't S2 greenlit around the finale premiere?
Yeah it’s greenlit for s2
The door is more like that found on a sub and it’s on the ceiling.
Think about this in Season 2 we are going to get Kate trying to keep Sam in check, and after what we saw with Luke, we know that's something she cant sustain long term, even tho she's more powerful off the drugs, Sam is far more unstable to start with. Also, I think Emma is going to be the key to them getting out, so I'm really hoping Season 2 turns into a New Mutanats/Runaways style story.
Season 4 is gonna be crazy as hell
The Adam touching Jay randomly show.
I am so stoked seeing this up now. Hope you guys really enjoyed this series. 🍑🍑🍑🍑
The show was so much better than I expected. Didn't start watching until two days ago and already finished it. Love The Boys and can't wait for season 4. But I thought this show might be superfluous and a "did we really need that" kinda thing.
But wow did this contextualize a lot of shit. Great script. Also great acting all around.
This really got out of hand fast, huh? 😅
Emma's powers are all mental ... but her emotional trauma means she only turns when she feels small or big when she is pigging out ...
Her powers will be controlled once her mental state is in a better place.
And heeeeere we go 😒
"You took that blast like a champ" what if andre is underselling it cause of ignorance and she literally reformed part of herself with her blood powers like venom lol
I think Marie`s blood protected her.
I love that this show eventually became the X-Men of the Boys Universe.
Except one of the heroes has Magneto-like telekenesis and one of the villains has Professor X-like mind powers. Very excited to see where that concept goes in Season 2.
first 🎉 so excited to watch 🙏
opinion. I don't think Homelander is the sole reason behind the PR switch. I mean within the first episode they were already going to do the same with Marie after the bar incident.
What are they going to tell the public? The truth??? That there's an illegal facility experimenting and on kids underneath the school that isn't even a real school, and said kids broke out and create a murderous rampage?
Or do they weigh their options of leaving the 4 actual heroes to keep their mouths shut after all is said and done?
The easiest solution for these 4 do-gooders? Let them take the fall. Lock them away. Keep the secret.
This show is better written and planned than the boys. I love the characters in the boys more, but it is because the show have been around for years while gen v is new.
Am I the only one who thinks Homelander is racist, which is why he didn't believe Marie, Andre & Jordan? Kinda makes sense he would make the blond & blue eyed kids the heroes.
One Piece?
Sam and Kate are horrible...
It had some bad parts but still great final episode. Like that Gangnam style joke and just live streaming the guy blowing his head off and feel nothing but then feels empty and good, and getting in to a broken helicopter...
16:45 Haha obviously Homelander didn't shoot to kill, he can regulate his laser. Otherwise they also wouldn't be looked up.
Why does every react channel edit in Family guy style cutaway clips ?
Is this some new tactic to avoid copyright strikes ?
Cause it sucks 😅
yay, just binged the playlist yesterday. thank you for uploading so fast 🤩🤩
Remember how y'all predicted there was going to be a training/ tournament arc? Lol, didn't expect this did you? And that's what makes this show and The Boys so good. They make you think it's going one way, then BAM! As always, I love y'alls videos, and you two remind me of me and my best friend. Love you both!
Why is ANYONE upset when Marie explodes Cate's arm? Her powers are WAY too dangerous and she's gone FULL psychopath. The first time I watched this episode, I cheered so loud and yelled, "Now do the other one!" Cate has the power to create an army that will literally do ANYTHING she says! She needs to be taken out!
Cate was terrible all season. NO ONE should have that power. Idk why people are surprised that she went "rogue." She was doing horrific, indefensible shit ALL SEASON.
"I can make you do this" said Cate to Marie in like episode 1.
Even if joking, her powers are too tempting and surely they can easily drive someone into carving a easy life by manipulating others. Cate surely is a damaged weak person and it's not her fault, but her agency into control her powers isn't so strong either. She need to take responsability or she'll became a powerful being claiming to be a victim of the system when the power is really on his hand. Sounds familiar?
