One of my favourite details about Homelander stepping on Termite, is you **KNOW** that Homelander definitely could hear him crying out for help.
good point
He defenately did that on purpose
It was gruesome but termite had it coming tbh
It’s a rare treat to have such a big ensemble cast where every single actor just crushes their role
And said role is JUICY as a watermelon in the summer. Deez roles MEATY dude
David Geldner not just MEATY, but TENDER and so full of LIFE that each of the actor carry!
@@davidgeldner2167 you manged to make me thirsty AND hungry with your comment lol
Right on the money
And the writing is just as good.
😂 When not only the episode has a warning, but our boys themselves give a warning to the moms, you KNOW shit's about to go down
I gotta hand it to the writers, they managed to keep all the storylines going, and fit in the herogasm stuff. Really well done.
The Seven is completely busted. Down one person anyway, all that's really left is The Deep and Homelander. Starlight quit, Maeve is missing, Black Noir took off, and A-Train may be dead.
they going to hire some more supes
@@0viewschannel198 nahhhh its way too late for that
People forget. Homelander was not raised by a family. He was raised in a lab by Vought as an experiment. The Mirror John is the personality that emerged to help the fragile John survive. Listen to some of the things Mirror John says about "that place".
Yep. Homelander is simply a child that suffered abuse and thus developed mental issues to help cope
Exactly and people still think that He's a peice of shit because he was always a peice of shit.
Who forgets?
Hmmm
every time he does something inhumane
it comes to my mind
100% correct.
Thanks for the words of comfort about the difficulty of editing this episode, Adam. It definitely wasn't easy, but it was so worth it!
I love you guys!
Hughie trying to pick up the shield and being unable to budge it said so much without a word with regards to just how strong Soldier Boy is.
I wonder if he could lift it up drugged out on V
Or maybe it’s supposed to be like Thor’s hammer and no one can pick it up
@@mattepilogue7303 Dude...i didn't want to be rude but c'mon your comment is stupid. Mjolnir has an enchantment, magic doesn't exist in The Boys universe.
Yeah, they make him seem so damn stong.
@@fernandoa589 I think he could lift it but it would be really damn heavy.
Ashley was totally in the right there. A-Train may not have been targeting people out of maliciousness like Blue Hawk, but he has left a trail of broken families behind him over the years without a care to who he hurt or why.
And now A-Train got a taste of his own medicine.
In the right or not blue hawk should've been handled and she's wrong for not taking care of that
I mean you have to take into account that those at vought are responsible for A-train and the gang are the POS’s that they are, A-train has been turning over a new leaf and people tend to mention the shit he’s done rather than focus on the changes he’s trying to make ya know?
that’s kind of the whole point? how detached a-train is with the costume, movies about slavery and shit
@@matthewchristopher16 True, but vought covers for all their supes murders. They are going to make an exception because one of their people happen to be a racist murderer as opposed to just a regular murderer? Edgar let a freakin Nazi be the face of the company, the corporation only cares about numbers.
I think Solider Boy has some kind of cooldown with his blast. He used it on command to kill Crimson Countes, after all. However, I think it’s more powerful and uncontrollable when it’s linked to and activated by his trauma.
Exactly. I think he needs time between blasts. And it seems obvious that it's stronger when it's triggered by his trauma.
I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think he was about to use it but homelander just escaped before he could. It just has a long wind up
@@lukes1887 True, but it seems like it worked way more faster if he gets triggered. It looked like he was trying hard to wind it up and release it
You know what I have an annoying cooldown for ?
😏
Everytime Soldier Boy uses the blast it takes a few seconds to build up and work, plus it drains the others powers. The twins couldn't use their powers and Homelander tried to use his eye blasts and he couldn't. His eyes just glowed and nothing else, so he used everything he had to break free and fly away. I think they just made SB's blast take a little longer against HL to let the whole scene play out.
This episode...even with the superpowered orgy and the amazing battle, everyone was on POINT with the acting....Homelander, Mother's Milk, Starlight, A-Train, Hughie, Ashley, Frenchie, Kimiko, Soldier Boy, and even Black Noir. Everyone brought their A-game and it showed immensely. They built up so much to this episode it felt like a season finale. Seriously this series is amazing! Where's those emmys!!?!?
Yes!!! I mean the mirror scene! Antony Star needs to get his Emmy ASAP
Burnt sausage
I’m pretty sure, Black Noire, took his tracker out, because he’s afraid of Soldier Boy coming after him, cuz he did turn him over to the Russians IMO.
I think he’s gone to protect Stan Edgar too
@@lukes1887 first thing I thought. I think Noir is directly loyal to Edgar and not Homelander. Especially because of that scene between Stan and Noir during the flashback sequence in episode 3. And I don’t think they’d write out a character as great as Edgar so quickly.
I think it's because once he saw that Soldier Boy was indeed back, he went to report it ASAP to Edgar and took out the chip mostly so Homelander wouldn't know where he is. Without having read the comics, I'm like 99,99% sure that the only real reason Payback was ever even in Nicaragua was to make sure Soldier Boy got taken by the Russians.
The rest of his team were in on it purely because they hated Soldier Boy, but I'm leaning towards it truly having been Noir's idea originally. Or rather, it was Edgar's/Vought's, and Noir was just the one who sold it to the rest of the team. They even make a point of it that Noir wouldn't do anything unless Vought told him so, and well, they did.
@@jackakimbo5718 Black Noir from the comics is a COMPLETELY different character in every conceivable way to our Black Noir in the show. (There have been a lot of departures in the show and I've loved them all. Didn't care for the comic as much. It's considerably more...flippantly nihilistic.) I'm finding being surprised by the direction the show is going is more satisfying. (Don't spoil yourself, is what I'm getting at. Stay pure!)
If A-Train died, he died a hero in his community but he’s also a cop killer. He also did it in his African costume. Brilliant writing all around
...How is he a cop killer?
He’s not a cop killer
@@professionalcommenter7375 Yeah, I don't know what this comment is talking about Blue Hawk wasn't even a cop, just a supe. Even then, I don't think anyone cares even if he was a cop, he injured a bunch of people and paralyzed someone.
I think Stan Edgar is the mastermind. He most likely ordered Black Noir to end Soldier Boy because he was getting out of control just like Homelander did.
I can believe that. I can also believe that it was Stan's bosses. Soldier Boy was becoming difficult, and wasn't well liked by his team. He also wasn't new and fresh. And they had Homelander, who was probably a baby at that point.
My question is what did Vought get in exchange for handing Soldier Boy over to the Soviets?
Noir is one of two directions - he's either completely terrified and knows what SB can do and knows how strong he is, or he wants to find him.
Or he is going to Stan edgar
@@Kyle-gu3ge Stan was only really useful because of his connections through Vought. I can't imagine him being very helpful after losing control
@@json_bourne3812 Stan still holds the cards behind the scenes. He gave up Vought knowing Homelander would drag it down. So I'd say in the end he still the mastermind here.
@@Kyle-gu3ge would be great to see that for sure
in all the first couple seasons of the Boys Homelander was basically never under any credible threat physically. Now it got so bad for him that he had a literal fight or flight reaction. This is a whole new world for him and for the Boys. Hes not some god above everyone anymore.
That, so much. HL has been punched and staggered before but that was the first time ever for him when his very life was at risk. Granted it took 3 Supes combined to get there but still now he's very aware he's not invincible anymore. And that will make him even more paranoid and dangerous henceforth.
What it truly shows is that homelander, while strong as hell, can he fought and even beaten as long as there is one tough ass supe and a couple of other just normal supes helping them out.
Blue Hawk got meat crayoned. Termite got kronched. Antony Starr knocked it out the park. What an episode.
Actually Soldier Boy used his chest blast on command against Crimson Countess. However, he had just been triggered and caused a massive chest blast so he might not have fully recharged yet.
To all the editors out there: You guys are the real heroes
10:09 I do think so too.
In The Boys: Diabolical, episode 8 "One Plus One Equals Two" When Homelander goes into panic and got trigger after failing to save a hostage. He goes into a black out and seems to murder everyone, hostages and terrorist, he regains conscious but seems afraid of what he did.
And if we recall his childhoold, makes sense that Homelander develop DID as a way to cope with the trauma
Edit: Another clue is that the reflection says "When we were kids, alone in the bad room, i got us through it" so it was there since his childhood
Yep. It's a mental issue developed out of childhood trauma just like what happens in the real world
Yep.
Homelander got a bruised cheek. He's about to go over the edge completely.
I love that moment around 16:15 where they’re laughing and making jokes and then it just jump cuts to Jay crying as MM tells Starlight his backstory
"NO CAPES! Edna was right again!".
Thank you, Adam! Only reactors I've seen so far who have acknowledged Edna's wisdom.
I love the themes they are exploring this season - the nature of whether power corrupts or whether the individual was "corrupt" all along. Kimiko and Hughie are having the opposite journeys - they are experiencing life with/without powers for the first time and understanding more about themselves as a result.
Brilliant, incredible writing.
Yeah, the show touches on e very dellicate subject that people typically are not willing to discuss. Everyone agrees that a bully should never get power, and I don't even mean superpowers, a position of power is dangerous enough. However,... neither should a lifelong victim. Sooner or later anyone would get drunk on that kind of, entirely new for them, power dynamics, thus leading to abuse and, often disproportionate, vengeance trip. History knows many cases like this.
Well done, Adam, editing this episode. I need a drink.
Thanks mom 😁
After last week, I *really* don't believe Ashley is drunk on power *at all* . Specifically how she got Maureen out of that boardroom alive, and as fast as possible. She didn't just launch an insult, she launched an insult that would *specifically* remove Maureen from that situation and redirect Homelander's fundamentally self-centered attentions. She's not drunk on anything, she''s terrified. And has had to develop wiles, VERY fast. ("Drunk on power" would involve far less habitual pulling out of scary chunks of one's own hair just to form a sentence, I am absolutely certain.)
Adam's knee was the most surprising thing this episode! I don't know why I didn't think you guys had lower bodies. Great reaction gents!
Shocked me too, i really thought of him as a pants guy.
Pants? In NYC? In the summer? No thank you 😬
Hughie getting in on the Homelander fight made me grin ear to ear.
Soldier Boy needs to recharge. He releases a lot of energy in that blast, his cells need to build back the energy they expelled so he can’t go off consecutively which means they have one shot at killing Homelander. His emotions can trigger him exploding but he can also set it off by will. If he misfires during a fight and misses, he’s in trouble
"I need them to have happy endings"....oh Lord
Kimikos’ scene was brought to you by Energizer Batteries: She just kept going and going and going and going AND GOING AND GOOOOIIINNG!!!
I think Edgar was behind the Soldier Boy abduction, and now that Soldier Boy's back Black Noir took off to join him. Probably why Edgar isn't afraid of Homelander. He knew how to subdue Soldier Boy and thinks he can probably do the same to Homelander. In fact, he's probably working with the Russians to develop Soldier Boy's EMP like ability to knock out somebodies powers.
Thats my theory as well, like he said "if there's one thing I taught [Victoria] its to play all sides". If he taught her that, it must be something he does
I'm shocked how many people don't see the gravity of the mirror scene with Homelander. This isn't something that just now happened. This means that Homelander has had a split personality ever since he was a kid. One is arrogant and "superior" in that everyone else are human and that means they're garbage, the other is scared and uncertain
I think Black Noir might go look for Stan, to take him to a safe place, as he might be the one who gave the order.
This honestly makes the most sense to me
They did a great job portraying herogasm. It could've been 10x worse
Black Noir ran in fear of Solider Boy and I bet he's run to Edgar as Vought (or at least younger Edgar) was probably behind Soldier Boy being captured.
When the disclaimer said animals I knew the Deep was fucking a fish.
No question. I just didn’t know if it was a octopus 🐙 or dolphin 🐬
a dolphin I can understand
This episode, no joke was peak television!
Definitely the best R-rated comic book adaptation ever, and one of the best comic book adaptations in general. It's not just the gore fest or the nudity that makes it mind blowing, it's about how they use the story and characters along with them cleverly.
For me the best part is how it acknowledges the nature of people. I mean, yes, if you give an asshole superpowers he doesn't become a superhero, he becomes a super asshole. Also all the stuff about corporations, media and brands wanting to capitalise everything with no regards to ethics, spot on. Besides the supe part itself this show (and comic book) is the most realistic depiction of the world in the entire genre.
TOP TIER Performances All Around!
I credit Ashley for A-Train's long overdue apology. She read him to filth and he deserved every bit of it.
Agreed. Best Episode of the Series!
Ashley is quickly becoming one of my faves this season.
@@McCammalot She is definitely finding her Super Power....Confidence!
This was great. They definitely hyped the sex to distract from the fight at the end. What a thrilling sequence man. You don’t need a ton of cgi and a ton of heroes to create a tension filled and cathartic superhero fight.
SPOILER
You need good writing.
There’s one side effect of Compound V that was important to a lot of storylines in the comics but so far hasn’t even been hinted at in the show, and which could allow A-Train to return. It would make a good twist and I would be shocked if the writers haven’t at least considered it.
Brilliant!
The best episode in the series hands down!!
Also Soldier Boys powers are not only active when he hears the music and makes him go back to the trauma, we saw him take out Crimson Countess and he didn’t black out.
And when he took out Kimiko too. I think he was just fatigued after causing the big explosion, so was having trouble using the power again so soon.
@@StumpyTales It seemed like he couldn't control it with Kimiko tbh.
It seems he blacks out and is uncontrollable only when it's activated by his ptsd
Drugged up Huey bad, but Quaid is doing one hell of a job showing the transition from, "meek but ready to snap Huey," to taking care of business Huey. Total shift in the way he moves etc, bloody brilliant
Homelander getting an epic beatdown and the Obi-Wan vs Darth Vader rematch in the same week? Man, we're lucky.
What made this episode special to me is that it showed to us and major movie studios, that the most important part of superheros fighting isn't the scale. It doesn't have to be bigger and more cgi and the world is about to end and to universe is about to crumble or whatever, it's about the characters. Even though the show makes a lot of fun of Marvel and DC, they could learn so much from them, especially right now, when new movies and shows are more about the hype than character and story. This show is insane, I hope Anthony Starr gets an Emmy, I hope MM gets a new leather jacket and I'm going to get me a nice and tasty popstickle!
Jay, you are SO right! Anthony Starr's performance in this show has been INCREDIBLE! Especially this season. Homeland's slide into absolute insanity is so believable. The way he switches on that megawatt fake smile that never touches those crazy eyes. It's a master class of acting!
17:20 In case you missed it, Soldier boy said that he founded Herogasm with Liberty, which was Stormfronts old name.
Just my theory:
Stormfront was married to Frederick Vought at the time, the CEO (at the time) and founder of Vought.
If Soldier boy was having an affair with her, that may be one of the reasons why he got sold out to Russia.
That the CEO of Vought wanted to get rid of him for sleeping with his wife.
Ooh good shout!
Honestly, wasn’t as disturbing as I thought it was going to be
Some scene had to be cut in order to air in several countries. Let’s hope one day we get the full, swollen, uncut, veiny version in the future!
Yeah maybe I am just desensitized but that was some of the tamest ‘sex’ I have seen. Especially for a group of people where super strength and durability is a baseline trait.
@@Caedus696 I feel that I’m 22 and I feel like I’ve seen everything nowadays lol
Felt the same
but giving pnhb more ideas..
love the parallel between Hughie and Kimiko. it wasn't the V.
My mother in law came in RIGHT when the orgy part came out 🙉🤦🏾♂️ Every. Single. Time.
Also I have never sweat SO much in a show. I was dying with how AMAZING this episode was.
Noooooo
Not the In Law.
Soldier Boy used his power on Kimiko and his ex without any music
Herogasm was quite tame compared to what I thought was going to happen
If Headpopper's power relies on her eyes, then I think Starlight is the one best equipped to take her out. If she could flash blind her before she could do her thing, she could win easily.
want to take a moment and point out the "MY LEG!" from spongebob was used here 21:23 fucking hilarious
My reaction to the "Throwin' ropes!" scene started as Adam's open-mouthed shock and quickly transitioned to Jay's uncontrollable laughter...😲😆
I'm sure with Homelander's super hearing he must've heard the little sup begging for help before he killed him which makes it all the more hilarious. Best episode of the show by far without a doubt. Also, did you guys got the Liberty mention by Soldier Boy? He banged Homelander's ex LMFAO.
He used it on command against Crimson Countess
Homie deserves an Emmy ASAP
This wasn’t just the best ep ever of the boys, this ep was better than every previous ep of the boys COMBINED

Well not exactly.
I’m getting Steven Grant and Jake Lockley vibes from Homelander in this episode with that mirror scene.
Thought I was gonna have to wait until tomorrow, thanks guys👍
"HUGHIE OUT OF NOWHERE 😃!"THAT WAS EXACTLY MY REACTION 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Soldier Boy used his new power on Crimson Countess so he can definitely call it up consciously. However, he had just unleashed it on the TNT Twins a few minutes earlier so there must be a recharge time before he can use it again.
Ehh he was also extremely angry at Crimson Countess. It could be tied to emotional response.
He was triggered by the song maybe if something triggers him that's when he can't control it?
Seems Russia turned him into a bomb and his trigger is Russian music
The best part of this episode is that they totally drifted away from the comics. In the comics herogasm is a thing Vought takes charge to keep the super happy think of it like their spring break. But in the show it was something soilder boy did. What is good too is that they didn't heavily focus on the sex n gore. Yes it was a lot in this ep but they still kept the plot n the character development. Bravo I can't wait for the next ep. Starlight....I'm sorry Annie is in so much trouble. N A train idk if he is dead but if he is then he went out righing his own wrong.
Soldier Boy and Billy Butcher going on Homelander gave the Civil War vibes of the fight between Iron Man vs. Captain America and Winter Soldier.
My first thought when Starlight walked in on The Deep... "Dude, octopi have beaks for mouths." 😳
If only Homelander quoted Ship of Theseus before flying through the skylight.
Two things. 1) The fast back-and-forth part of the 'mirror scene', neither Homelander was mirrored. They were both on the 'regular' side, which was an interesting but excellent choice. 2) In Nicaragua, Noir was talking about taking his mask off, I wouldn't dismiss him as being actually behind it. He could well have been lining himself up as the new leader.
Crimson Countess did say to Soldier Boy, "I hated you, we all did". Soldier Boy's capture was either Stan Edgar's doing, with the help of the other Payback members i.e. the "incompetently" killing Mallory's team or it was solely Payback's idea/doing without Edgar knowing. I think Black Noir is running/hiding. He might be able to fight Soldier Boy, but could he win?
lmao Jay's singing caused almost full neural shutdown on Adam!
Dudes, Soldier Boy's an old man. When you get up in age it takes a while to recharge to ... perform ... again after a major discharge. Give him time to recover. 🤣🤣
You know the best part of this episode after watching it? I have absolutely not freaking clue what's happening in the next episode.
After the last episode you knew what was coming, they pushed this episode heavy to keep everyone's attention on it, and now that it's over with all the build up hype over, I have no clue what the future holds.
If this was a regular show, that's season finale stuff, not something you do with 2 episodes left.
So I am commenting before I actually watch your reactions.... When I saw this episode I was like..I HAVE to watch you two review this! Such a ride of feelings, and shocks.
I think with a bunch of dead supes on hand, they'll have a new heart for A-Train ready to go.
I’m with y’all in that this would be the perfect end to A-Train’s story. Ngl, at the end there I thought Annie was gonna upload footage of Homelander getting owned. I’d give this episode 1/1 black-eyed Homelanders🔥
All weirdness aside this was an excellent episode: definitely a fave now. That fight scene was amazing! The 3 on 1? Wow-wasn’t really thinking we’d see it…😳
What weirdness?
I love nervous Homelander. ADORE. WANT MORE. SCARE that #$%*U*($U#$(*#$(-er!!!
Butcher let the homelander fly away, fearing that Hugh would die
"Does Homelander not know Black Noirs backstory?" You mean the guy so self obsessed he completely ignored his mangled bedridden girlfriends pain and expected her to have remembered his birthday instead? That Homelander? lol Yeah, no. He could give a shit about his coworkers past. Unless hes using it to torture them.
Hey fellas I''m 51 tomorrow. love to hear from ya!
Beam struggle!!!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 hilarious!!
Soldier Boy can use his blast on command (he did it on crimson countess) but he probably needed to recharge a little after blasting the house
I wonder if we'll see A-Train again? One thing from the comics that we haven't seen yet is how Vought can bring superpowered beings back from the dead. In the comics, this had terrible side effects, both mental and physical, although I doubt that the show would go exactly the same route. Maybe they'll introduce it as a new experimental procedure like the temporary V?
I do think Noir was behind it, remember in the flashback when he was younger he had a major issue with wearing the helmet and wanted a bigger role on the team as far as star power and wanted his face to be shown, he probably thought getting Soldier Boy out the way would help lead to his role expanding. I also think he's headed to go find Stan Edgar
Now THIS is how you make a good TV show! With dumb ass shows like Kenobi on the air it is SO refreshing to see something with substance and gravitas!
Loving the shows guys. Keep pumping out that grade A pixie dust content. So glad i started The Boys, simply to see these vids :)
Easily best episode of the series and one of better episodes of television in general
he beamed crimson countess on command remember, I think we haven't seen soldier boys full power cuz he did a full beam that exhausted him
15:44 of The Boys, season 3-episode 6 called Herogasm BUT IN BREAKING NEWS
Adam Lash has legs😳
When Homelander was like...the company's fucked, I'm fucked, I was just thinking.....Stan Edgar told you this would happen. He literally told you. I wonder how long before he begs Stan to come back.
“More arteries!“… Great line Adam!
Good job Adam, the best edit i saw of this ep.
It was a storming episode! I thought maybe Noir would try and find Stan Edgar, as he was in charge of the team in Nicaragua.
They made soilder boy way better in the show then the comics bro!!
So, 47 mins into the episode I SWEAR that I hear the Spongebob "my leg!!" sound.
What an insane episode that fight at the end was so gripping! Idk how I feel about using the word gripping for this episode :(
I’m a mom! I loved it! ….. but I had to lock the door 😂
Black Noir's big power is regeneration. We keep seeing him get all messed up and then it heals. I don't think he wears the mask/costume because of the incident in Nicaragua. I think he wears it because he was told that black superheroes don't get famous, and he took it to heart. Even though, years later, A-Train was famous as all hell, I think he might have just internalized that fear of no one accepting him as a black superhero so hard that he just can't ever show his face.
I think the real noir we saw is actually dead and vought hid that fact and put a new expirement of theirs in the black mask and put him on the seven.
Soldier Boy used his power on Crimson Countess on command. It's more likely that he was still drained since it was only minutes before that he had used it on the twins.
