This song almost physically hurts to listen to. Like a wave of sadness, and... Regret. Whenever I listen to this song i feel stuck, stopped, imbolized, like I've been tranquilized and forced to relive my mistakes, and then shown the best experiences I've ever had, only to be thrown back to reality. A slap in the face, just making me miss the days where I got to enjoy these games fresh in my mind, and not feel them as a shadow of the regret i feel for i how played them the first time, and the the cycle starts over. It really is that certain kind of sadness that you can get addicted to. And it's just sad to watch as I grow up but these game, they stay in the past, a past i want to be a part of, but simply can't.
This is what sounds like regret. When you made a mistake and you live to regret it terribly. And you know there’s nothing you can do to fix that mistake.

I find it interesting how after all these years the feeling I get when I listen to this song hasn't changed. This song to me just makes me feel alone. In the game you're never really around anyone like you and you're having to fight your own species that some might consider having a fate worse than death. While Pearl and Marina are there to talk to you it never really feels like they're there. Looking at the maps of each area and staring off into the distance to see things that other people in the past left behind adds something to the song for me. You're the only one really here seeing all of this. The others, the enemies you're fighting, probably aren't even themselves anymore making you feel even more alone. Anyway the song slaps 10/10

This song had always sounded nostalgic to me, ever since I got the DLC day 1. I've wondered long and hard about why this was, and I think I've finally found it. The melody in the back is very, very similar to the main menu theme from McLeodGaming's Super Smash Flash 2. Fantastic work on Nintendo's part to find such a perfect piece to so eerily illicit such a quale to its audience in particular, in such a perfect dose. I see nobody talking about this similarity, only fixated on the feeling. I feel as though only some players will be caught in this limbo, however, and those that haven't been around for the days of Smash Flash 2 will simply feel either the lofi aesthetic, or the pain induced by the physics puzzles (due to their relative inexperience with those sorts of said puzzles). No matter where you (and perhaps the 8-ball) fall, this piece is wonderfully composed. Bravo.

A lot of people find the song sad but I’ve always found it to be tranquil in that sitting outside by yourself and just having a moment to not have to think about anything. You feel a cold breeze on your neck and breathe steadily. You stare at the sun setting and the grey sky with the orange clouds. You’re alone, but you don’t feel lonely, just calm. At peace. You have time to yourself. All the stresses in your life are unimportant right now and you can let your mind fog up and relax. You lean back on a brick wall and pull your knees up to rest your elbows on them. It all feels too peaceful to be real, but it is, and it is your moment to take.
