Very interesting. You can see that Mick and Keith sing more smoothly in this version, and apparently they switch lead vocals. At the beginning you can hear Keith singing, then Mick takes over the vocals, at around 0:25 you can hear Keith singing the lead vocal
I think that with everything that went into this song and it's production, it didn't work well enough live. There's a recording of it being played live somewhere one YT, and you can tell it doesn't have the same vibe.
I would love to hear Keith's singing it if it's even exists but I do think Mick's voice fits better. His voice is much rougher and clearer which fits the song better
It's interesting hearing Mick sing politely. I can see why some would prefer it but it lacks character and doesn't sound anywhere near compelling enough for mine.
Bill Wyman's bass still blows me away. Been listening to this since 1966.
R.I.P. Charlie 😪 End of an era

an unusual, different and soft Mick's voice.
These alternate vocal mixes are superb.
Much better vocal melody than the released version.
Great version !
Branislav Puletic it’s the same exact vocal melody he just sings it softer
Also in seceral of spots the vocals are deliberately off sync with the backing track by about a fourth of a tick.
No!
I’m a Brian fan
I really like this a lot but I do prefer the released version.
Cool!!!
This versions' singing WAY BETTER than released original version!
Much better with Mick's 'mockney' dialed back a bit, isn't it?
Very
Is that Keith singing lead? This amazing!
Keith sings the opening line. Mick sings the rest.
@@Deltics1 Just what a drag it is...by Keith...yes.
@@Deltics1 sounds like Keith in some parts tho
It does
@@Deltics1 I think is Keith singing all main vocals, a Mick doing lower backing vocals on chorus.
I’m a Brian fantastic
Why is there no footage of The Stones playing this live?

There is one from Honolulu, 1966. It's pretty rough, but still great!
I saw an interview with Charlie and he said every time they played this live it didn't work so they gave up. It's my fav Stones song.
I'd do anything to hear Keith sing the whole song instead
REKKLES MAGNUS i don’t think so.. Keith’s voice sounded very nice for this song
REKKLES MAGNUS I’ve heard this song for years, but i feel his raspy voice would make the song even better
REKKLES MAGNUS yup.. that’s life..
I would love to hear Keith's singing it if it's even exists but I do think Mick's voice fits better. His voice is much rougher and clearer which fits the song better
Where did you get this?
AB*CO posted some "copyright preservation" tracks on YT earlier this year and took them down after a couple of weeks.
Sounds like Ray Davies takes lead on this one
smooth version of MLH
None of the stones singing.
It's interesting hearing Mick sing politely. I can see why some would prefer it but it lacks character and doesn't sound anywhere near compelling enough for mine.
It's not Mick, It's Keith in the verses and Mick joining in the chorus.
sll
