Earlier little girls were married off to old men because they were wealthy, those little girls suffered from domestic violence and after the death of her husband coz he's old, the little girls were burnt alive. The practice of Sati which was later banned by the British who saved so many women. That was the old generation. All women had to suffer domestic violence because they were financially dependent on their husbands, their own parents disowned them after the women were married off and even if the woman leaves her husband or divorces her husband, the society did not accept and tortured the women to death.
