So, what makes a marriage tick, or rather what breaks a marriage? Why don't marriages last in today's time? Is divorce really a bad thing?

I'm telling you this, only women can solve this problem. The issue is with weak men, who are in thousands in our generation. Until good women openly start supporting men when they are given the raw end of the deal, it won't change. Remove maintenance and alimony from her matrimonial cases. And you'll see a sharp decrease in divorce cases. We can't call a marriage sacred and a game of extorting 'just money' from the males.

Also, if child support is to be made, the woman who gets it must provide receipts of where the money was spent. Also, the usage of child support money must be first agreed upon by both the parents, the woman should not be the only one making the decisions by taking the money from the man.

Arranged marriage were actually arranged through known families and not online connections. The word evolving is used in a different context whereas evolving means for any frivolous reason people are filing for divorce and laws are allowing separations. All the constant social modifications have been on taking the women out of their responsibilities and living a life as per their whims and fancies. No one has the guts to accept these detrimental changes being constantly thrown into the society. All Modernised women are feminist to different extent. All separated couples are infinitely unhappy from inside till they die. I have dealt with many people in my meditation classes in Europe and I know what is the end result. This is the result of lawless extremely materialistic and irresponsible society. Government which is majorly made up of uneducated power hungry politicians is there to blame for letting this cancer spread in the society. Divided society benefits them.

My ex was far too childish to be a good mother or a wife. She would play mental games with everyone all the time. Barely took care of our son. Had an affair finally I had to divorce her and lose 50L but it was worth it. I am free now, son is doing well. Life is short, it's better to take care of your parents, siblings and yourself than believe in having a happy marriage.

Regarding the first 5minutes of talk, it is shocking that one person can block their partner from giving divorce and preventing them from moving on with their life.
Alimony, Child custody can be dragged but if divorce case itself is dragged for years/decades then how can the partner marry someone else. Years of his life wasted. Justice delayed is justice denied.
Also, if courts expect people to be honest about the income details of a person during maintenance/alimony issues, then Prenup should also be unambiguously legal isn't it?

All in all the whole idea of wealth in marriage and divorce or seeking a divorce just explains that most women get married for financial security and most men get married when they 'think' they're done playing the field.
I have a friend/ex-colleague who asked a prospect for prenup on the first meeting, with the thought in mind that if any of them choose to get divorced, what is 'she' going to get out of his property. She didn't think it through that it is also applicable on the boy. So this is the scenario before getting married, what ur getting out of it.

There are laws for child support and alimony that are agreed upon by the court, but enforcing them is another matter because so many dynamics change over time especially if the partner is not making the same amount consistently throughout their lives how are you going to be able to keep running to court and keep asking for a review so often. It would only apply to people who are stable and consistent with their income. Otherwise it’s a huge problem.

If that is done then Indian ethos will need to change. Our country is pro marriage that's why divorce is not as easy and pre-nups are not allowed legally. If divorces are made easier then it will affect inheritance, maintenance, and pre-nups and UCC for all kinds of marriage. Till date we have different kinds of marriage accepted and they have different rules, like a wife in Indore was ordered by the district court to apply sindoor as per Hindu tradition because she was married by Hindu tradition. A Muslim woman for example will not be ordered the same thing.
So what you are asking is to make divorce easier but that will involve a lot of changes to various laws and social ethos, not an easy thing and definitely can't be done anytime soon.
