They show the most positive outlook on life that is sadly unrealistic. Terrorism, political disputes, lack of action from the general population, power and economic struggles between groups, etc, which are parts of the human race since the beginning of civilization, will always impede the growth of our species. I'm not even going to take into account the probable rise of some lethal pathogen or other natural and/or man-made disaster/dilemma as it would require including more factors in this already ugly-long post which makes things more complex and despairing.
