Tbh I find their older stuff more fun to play than their newer stuff, great cover man!
The old stuff smokes the new stuff.
So many of their older songs are pure fire. My favorite song is Euphoria, it also happens to be the song I practice most! I first became a fan of them when that video dropped.

My intro to polyphia was goat but Lit was such a good catchy tune even from their older era

The runs? They are mostly legato which in my opinion is easier than alternate picking, im not sure your skill level but I believe this solo is a good introduction to playing at that tempo

I'm a new fan, dont quite like the old stuff, new levels new devils is best for me and next is remember you will die. all the other stuff feels like your average band to me.
I started listening to them in december 2019, happened the same thing to me, with time you would start to see the beautiful details in those old song, i recommend you "light"
Perhaps it sounds "average" to you because every other person is trying so damned hard to be like them. I've been listening since Renaissance, and that right there was already changing the game.
Hi, dont get me wrong, theyre incredibly talented even back then, but to me they did not have something that popped or stuck out, in my opinion. As a local musician you can hears tons of music other dont get the chance to hear. Their old stuff is just not my thing but as they grew and added to their style it became more unique and had more replay-ability, if that makes sense. @@troysmithfr
Yeah little by little I listen to their old stuff, but I like their new style due to mixes in genres, it makes it pop out more and surprise you, by the time the songs are done you wanna hit play again. @@littleroockie1978
