Cover of the legendary Bloodbath solo by Scott Le Page from Polyphia! I'd say a big improvement from the last time I covered it a year ago, but to be fair I covered it as quick as possible back then right when it came out so didn't have much time to perfect haha. That tone though on the GT1000CORE 🤯🤯🔥 Please check out my other videos as well, it means a lot for me to see people supporting my cha...

We all aspire to be like our idols, is it really an unrealistic goal if others can do it, people like Tim Henson, Manuel Gardner Fernandes, Ichika Nito, Mateus Asato, Jason Richardson and many other internet guitarists makes it looks easy, but are they really who they appear to be? Maybe if I did all the parts separately then I can be as flawless as Max haha. Enjoy this! this is why i love players like John Sykes and EVH, they are not perfect but they are great with groove. I remember playing live for the first time and feeling i was terrible because i made some mistakes. Later on I had many musicians come up to me to complement me and i did fuck up on stage many times but seeing others making the same mistakes kind if broke me out of that cycle. Also you have a great taste in guitars. Have that same charvel dk24 and it has been my main guitar for 2 years now. Great vid ❤
can't remember the exact quote but I believe Tosin Abasi said something along the lines "once you get it, you forget you couldn't do it before. so try to look into that hypothetical future of yourself" which was a super helpful way of thinking when I decided I wanted to learn thumping and some Polyphia songs. still can't do either but made huge progress just by not giving up!
ngl your guitar playing throughout this video was really good
“Generation Z” video. Yikes.
I have been playing guitar for 6 months and everything you said I've gone through. The constant stream of videos of people playing insanely well definitely makes me wonder why I'm not playing as good as them but I think about how make takes it took them to get it that clean and how many hours and years of practice it took them to get that good and it just motivates me to pick up my guitar and practice so I can see myself in 10 years playing at an unimaginable level.
Finally I found a perfect cover on it , bravo !
SUNN O))) IS THE CURE TO ALL OF THIS SHREDDING OVERLOAD.🤔
Shredding is whatever. Gimme great songs and real solos by talented artists.
Simply amazing!!
Mate I'm 44, learnt a bit of guitar for couple of years, when I was like 16 and quit not because of frustration but life. Recently I have picked the guitar back up, I'm terrible but get better every time and I do plateau. It all just for fun for me now and it drives me forward
Thank you!
I’m 37 and have been playing since I was 12. There will always be some 7 year old in Korea who can outshred me. These online videos are edited to all hell that’s why u don’t hear the camera audio…. My philosophy is just “write cool sh*t”. The only other people that care about playing insanely complicated stuff- is other guitarists. Go ahead and ask someone who doesn’t play an instrument if they listen to polyphia. Sure you can practice those things and add them to your toolbox but writing good memorable songs/riffs is gonna take you much further than the attention you will get for shredding for 30 seconds on Instagram.
Remember it's not about technical skill, it's about putting together a good song.
TIM HENSON’s face on the thumbnail is a bit of a clickbait
ur improvement is crazy bro
Good video. I agree wholeheartedly :)
Loved the vid bro, I spend more hours comparing myself to Tim Henson instead of practicing
It’s a marathon, not a sprint. With practice, you get better. Just make sure you record yourself and listen back. Be patient and don’t beat yourself up.
I cant figure out how to use a pick. Like, i end up plucking nothing sometimes.
Nice try dude, we all know it's a green screen.
I have zero fake takes in my videos. But I record everything dozens of times until I'm happy with it.
"remember there is no point trying, no matter how hard you work there will always be an asian kid better than you"
If you feel discouraged by amazing guitarists, you have a shit perspective. you should be inspired. You aren't as good as them because you simply have not had enough time to get there, or your practice is not as mindful and structured, or while you wasted 1000s of hours watching tv, playing video games and vegetating, they spend an equal amount of time not doing that shit and practicing instead. You're not going to be as good as someone decades in and deep in the 5 figures of hours of practice, this should be your goal, not your discouragement.
I agree, only insecure men would feel that way
@@Tityretupatulae insecure maybe, but I think it's more of a instant gratification kind of culture in the newer generations and even adopted in some percentage of the older. People don't seem to realize they are watching/hearing the results of painstaking persistence and dedication for double digit years. They think the talent snapped into existence? For instance, the thumbnail clickbait subject, Tim Henson. His mother started him playing violin daily when he was 3(!), and he switched to playing guitar at 10. He's like 30 something now, and that's why he has ridiculous skill.
Pls teach me how to play what you were playing at the beginning
Whats the name of the song that steve vai played in this video?
Whispering a prayer
Stop comparing yourself to others full stop, you cannot be them, thats their journey not yours, practice as much as you can everyday, learn your scales then be yourself
its about time
Great reminder about priorities. What's nourishing?
I know one of these "internet guitarists" personally - Marcin. I'm on his Patreon for like $15 a month and so I get to spend 2-3 hours with him on Zoom once a month. I believe he would be deeply disturbed that his playing would discourage anyone from playing. He actually wants the opposite. He lets people play for him at the end of the zoom call and gives them tips and props for progress. These guys are good people. Yes, they practice A LOT. More often than most people. But they aren't cocky. They genuinely want to inspire players, not discourage them. Oh, and I watch him play his stuff live and unplugged on that call each month. No trickery. No fakery.
It seems pretty stupid being a newbie and comparing yourself with Tim Henson, a good way to frustration and depression. Its like starting running and trying to be a professional runner. Stupid.. I've seen this kids that dont even know how to hold the guitar trying to pull Playing God or something like that and it feels pointless. They cant play a scale and try to shred. Ridiculous.
Henson cant write a song
@@Tityretupatulae but you cant play like him si it doesnt matter if you try to bring him down
That kid, max, is so sick! I’ve been playing for years and I learn tons from the new gen of players. Very inspiring, actually. Keep it coming! 🤘😜
Fellas, learn to say a lot with a little, not say a little with a lot. Which is what these wannabe Polyphia-Dream-Theater-djenty-Periphery-masturbators wanna do
Its not about akoll its about writing good riffs.
I'm a master shredder, but an amateur sweeper. The great news is, NO ONE EXCEPT GUITARISTS CARES. Fans love it when you shred it up, but ultimately, people in the crowd just want to be entertained. The guy who can only play 3 chords but jumps around like a maniac and engages the crowd will win the crowd over faster than the virtuoso who feebly locks onto their fretting hand, thanking god they have the excuse of complex placements to not look at the crowd. That being said, you should never stop reaching higher because it's fun. The older you get, the harder it is to hear something you don't know how to do. You go from feeling discouraged to just being happy you found something new. I don't use much sweep picking, but I like learning it. It's my last frontier.
It's rock an roll there are no rules just have fun and be inspired by others but be original true to your self and have fun😊
Thank you so much for this
Showing a picture of someone who can upload every solo theyve performed with clean tone in one take in the thumbnail is dirty.
Obviously people like Tim Henson are insanely talented on a near-superhuman level, but more than half of that impressiveness is visual. Music is aural. I have never found this style of super-fast playing to be extraordinary if you close your eyes, and I could point to some incredibly simple three-chord songs that tug the heartstrings more (for me) than this type of stuff.
Henson cant write a song if his life depended on it. He has a team of songwriters. There are way other guitarists today worth the praise who are writing music of humbling beauty Jake Kiszka, Brian D’Addario, Hannah Wicklund, Ty Segall, Marcus King. These are the magic makers of this generation on guitar
@@Tityretupatulae Whether he can write or not, he's obviously a talented player. But music is not only, or even primarily, about technical skill in my view.
😭😭😭😭😭 this is something we all loose track of from time to time. But its always good to have a reminder.
name for music
I dont understand?
That sweet child o mine riff in the intro cracked me up 😂
Social networks are ultimately poison. If you pay attention to them you will see that it is a competition, a desire to be striking, a desire for novelty, a circus, a meaningless race. Forget all that, delete Instagram, Facebook, tweeter, just play the guitar and you will see how stress and anxiety disappear. If you immerse yourself in it, networks are a world of perdition.
Cool, bro you are best
The best way to improve is to set the bar stupidly high
I agree to an extent although you probably need a ton of discipline and resilience which many lack
@@LeroyGuitar I guess im lucky, i got tons of motivation to improve and just play
@@pallerpat13 keep it up dude, I can tell from your vids
@@LeroyGuitar Appreciate that 🤘
I love the topic but I would like to offer some constructive criticism. The sentences you say are well spoken but sometimes there is too much pause in between like someone added 2-3 commas. Videos with high views are a little bit more sharper with their tonality. But if you're going for this style then you do you buddy, no problems. Even Sam Sulek blew up with his unique type of content. Secondly, I play guitar and keyboard. To my ears you have figured out a very nice sync between playing background and some leads. But the total mix including your audio of guitar and your voice isn't coming out as you'd wish. I say put some more time in mixing. But I love your idea. Tbh I'm only typing all of this because i want to see you grow and I see potential in this type of content. Keep it up bro.
Hello dude thanks a lot for your criticism. I look up to Sam Sulek as well haha, but yeah my speaking skills definitely need to improve not just in videos but in real life as well. In terms of audio, I’m not sure I understand if my improvised music should be quieter or louder personally I think it’s fine, what would you say? All in all I appreciate the comment, hope we all grow together 🙌
That was awesome 👍🤘
