how to beat DeadPlants.exe:
* Lose as little plants as possible
* If losing plants, lose less damaging ones (e. g. umbrella leaf, puff-shroom, sea-shroom, lilypad, flowerpot (it's a weak pumpkin))
* bring as many defensive plants as possible, especially flowerpots and pumpkins. You'll also need umbrella leaf for catapult protection, threepeater to protect the sun lane (cob cannons work too but they are expensive), and starfruit for starfruit spam.
* start the level the same as a flowerpot zombotany strat. whichever lane you start on will be your sun lane.
you're basically set. If the enemy lawn tries to overwhelm your sun lane, starfruit threepeater cob cannon wall nut. Anything else, just wall nut umbrella leaf melon.
The narrator mentioned that the plants eaten are placed on the right side and they attack plants alive on the left. I would wonder what a dead walnut would do on the right side of the screen.

plot twist: he just sucks at playing pvz
I feel like this could've been handled differently. I like the "I hope the plants in our neighbourhood will stop dying" line at the end, but consider this. Level 2-1 has graves with the names of celebrities like Michael Jackson and Amy Winehouse as mentioned, but as it progresses the names inscribed on the stones become gradually more obscure, but are still known to the player. On the last few stages the graves end up having names of obscure deceased musical artists the player's parents introduced them to or local celebrities from the area they grew up in in their childhood. At this point the player stops using grave busters altogether but on 2-9 the graves have the names of their dead relatives, and grave busters start spawning and removing the graves even though they don't even have the seed in their seed bank. The next morning they wake up to find a news report on the TV that says the inscriptions on the graves of multiple famous celebrities have disappeared and their bodies are missing. They panic and drive to the graveyard where their dead relatives were buried to find that they also no longer have any inscriptions.
Obviously it would have to be named something different to deadplants.exe because that isn't the focus of this

Honestly that would be a neat game mode. You play through a normal level and then you fight whatever plants you lost. Almost like real zombification.

I mean the idea of PvZ is pretty freaky in general. You and Dave are stuck in the middle of this town, alone, full of zombies, and the only way to defend yourselves are these weird mutant plants. The zombies know exactly where you are at all times and are constantly trying to break in day and night to try and kill you, and they even show intelligence at certain points in the game, like using lawnmowers and Zambonis in an effort to destroy your plants. Every day they try these new tactics to try and catch you off guard, hoping that they will be able to break your defenses and kill you and Dave.
Just explaining this game without any context of what the game is actually like paints a pretty creepy image.
If they just changed the artstyle and music, it would be a legitimately scary game, full stop.

this would be a pretty good twist for a pvz game lol.
What if the game records every plant that you lose throughout the entire playthrough. The levels would progress as normal except some zombies, regardless of time (day or night) would rise up from your lawn with the abilities of the plants that you lost. Like zombotany basically but the zombies would be covered in vines, roots and dirt. Their heads would be a mishmash of the chosen plant (random picked from the ones you lost) and the head of a normal zombie.
One time used plants aren't counted unless they're managed to be eaten like potato mine.
By 5-10, the game will count the number of plants you've lost. If it's big enough, Zomboss will use your dead plants against yours along with his horde and new strain of zombies. If you managed to lose only a maximum of maybe 5, Zomboss won't be able to use plants but will still be able to spawn zombie-plant mutants.
If somehow, you managed to lose none (except the one time use plants), you'll be given a new trophy and an achievement.

The bit at the end about the zombie plants sounds really cool and I kinda want to see someone actually make that now... Player VS Player/Plants VS Plants sounds like it could be really interesting!

It's kinda cliche with the scream but the fact there's motive for the plants to torment player is a nice change of pace instead of just "I'm evil,I must torment you because I am evil"
Also I interpret the final scream as all the dead plants screaming for new life as they're life and sunlight is drained and they're turned to lifeless grey husk's

What I like about this one is the fact that, except for the graves-with-the-dead-relatives part, it actually is somewhat plausible. Like, it doesn’t say that he got it in an official version, he got it from a sketchy torrent. Theoretically, most of this could happen, if, let’s say some internet troll decided to mess with people like that.

Hey i just wanna say that i really like this creepypasta and thank you for narrating it. I usually don't like creepypasta that come from indie games such as plants vs zombies as i don't really like how some creepypasta where there was only a short amount of the actual game and then all of a sudden the rest of the story takes place out of the game. But this creepypasta i like because everything stays in the game and nothing else appears outside of it. This is what you call a good creepypasta. I enjoy it.
I am absolutely floored by how many pvz creepypastas there are.
Also the dude says they never played the game but they constantly say how it was different.

I love how in the end level the author kind of aknowledges he's in a creepypasta when describing the peashooter.
Pretty decent story, my only gripe being the tacked on .exe, it really doesn't change the story and the author seems to know enough not to throw it around like a buzzword, but i do feel it impacted my expectations, just dead plants would help to remove the negative conotations of the .exe creepypasta stereotype.
Also, props to the reader.

Ngl the dead plants would make a good fangame of this, about fanmade games, I had a idea for the dead plants and a boss fight!
Peashooter: shoot rotten peas, will start moving and peas start to go between lanes at the halfway point of the level
Sunflower: produces blood sun, if the player collects blood sun, they will lose 25 Sun
Wal-nut: basically protection, gains a melee attack at the halfway point of the level
Tal-nut: same as wal-nut
Cob cannon: same thing as normal, but it covers a lane full of flesh which makes the lane impossible to plant on for 5 seconds, covers 3 lanes at the halfway point of the level
Melon pult: launches melons with flesh on plants which slowly damages them, launches 3 melons at the halfway point
Now if you have ideas for a deadplant, put them in the replys, now onto the boss fight!
The twisted monstrosity:
Hp: 15000
Has a repeater, sunflower, wal-nut shield, cob cannon, melon pult, and a power line with a giant pot on its head, making it look like it killed dave
Attacks (phase 1):
3 rotten peas
A wal-nut smash
A power line smash
Firing a beam full of blood (explains the sunflower in it)
Summoning dead bowling wal-nuts
A triple cob cannon blast
6 melon pult melons
Phase 2:

I wonder what would happen if you play the whole game without any plant dying. Whould they thank you? Would they return your love and care? This sound so cool. Maybe you could do a creepypasta about this. Maybe consider the game desperately trying to kill your plants.
i like the idea that a ".exe" story can be based off how a random joe willingly pirates a game to avoid having to purchase it, only that the twist is that the original owner of the pirated copy screwed with the game to mess with the buyer, because lets be real here. the idea that someone mysteriously receives a strange copy of a game only for it to become more scary and such is an overused idea.
This also would've been even creepier,if Peashooter was like; "I just want to play!"
