- Decided to change things up a bit, I know it’s not fishing but it’s my second favorite thing to do, cook! Making discada for my family for Father’s Day!

I've watched a lot of discada videos, and this has been the best I've seen so far. I like the way you explain the reasons behind what you do. Great job!
That’s awesome thank you so much for the positive feedback! I’m going to post more videos on different recipes and plan to do the same for those as well. 😎👍🏼
It's awesome to see the different variations of "Discada" that people eat.. everyone has their own version.. great video
Thanks! Yea there are a bunch of them out there by? I appreciate it!!!
Well done! I’m the same with wanting to know why. My discada arrives Monday and I’m very excited. This has been the most informative video I’ve seen
Good I’m glad it makes sense! Glad I’m not the only one that thinks that way! Good luck with the disco, let me know how it goes!!
Damn boy mama here comes that man again and he’s cooking his a- off good video bro
Thank you sir! I’m tryin over here!!!
Great video and explanation of the how and why. Greatly appreciate it.
One of the best disecada norteño video I have seen , I appreciate the way you explain every step of the way, yes there is many ways to prepare but this video gives the main idea , thanks
Thanks for the kind words!! I’ve been contemplating doing more discada videos too.
Great video! Food looked great , and information was fantastic! Thanks for putting this together
Thanks! I appreciate it!!
I’m going for it. Looks great
Let me know how it turns out!!!
OMG !! It all came together with the OMG’s !! Great video
Lol OMGs make it happen!!! And thanks.
I got the same disk from Southwest Disk. LOVE it. Great video, and I always like to see what order people do the food in. Best piece of cooking equipment I own. I agree on getting another smaller one too!
Thanks for filming, it’s an whole job on its own.
Thanks and yea it’s a good all around tool too. You can make a lot of stuff in it for sure. Cleaning it up is a bit of a chore but when you can make food for 40 people and only have one “pan” to clean up its worth it!!
@@CarlosLaguna7883 I've had the Disk almost a year, and I can tell that it'll outlive me, my grandkids, and my grandkids' grandkids' grandkids. I use it routinely for making bacon prior to camping. I make 6 pounds at a shot (2) packages of the Costco two packs (1.5 pound each package), cut into thirds. Just keep it moving. To clean up, I scoop out the remaining oil and filter it into a peanut can (also from Costco, lol) and save some to refrigerate. Warm up the disk, and use a spray bottle with water and take chain mail and rub the crusties off. Wipe with cut up Tshirts or paper towel. Pretty quick at it, at this point!
Totally jonesing to do a big taco cook with tortillas and sitch. So jealous!
Keep up the great work on filming the cooking process! Seriously inspirational!
@@reminaya I do the same thing as far as filling it with water and heating it back up but never thought of using chain mail, good idea thanks! I mostly have fishing videos on my channel but have thought about making cooking/smoking videos and DIY stuff too, I approach everything I do the same way, I just need to know the "why" behind the "how". Wife says I have a good way of explaining stuff so I'm always glad to help! Post a vid/pic when you do yours, would like to see how it comes out!!!
Congratulations 🎉 it looks great 👍
I add longaniza and queso menonita to it ! But everyone make it different.
Dang both of those sound good! Gonna have to try that out for sure. I love cheese too!!!
I’ve never seen this video, but this is the closest of how I do my discada!
Great video
Thanks!!!
God bless you too…. I just got my first disco for Christmas. A Fire X Disc. I am going to try your recipe at the next pachanga I throw.
Oh heck yea congrats!! Let me know how it comes out!!!
The wavy things are called refraction and also the food was great and delicious
Lol I knew it had a name but couldn’t think of it to save my life! Thanks! 😁
Good job brother! Enjoyed the video!
Thanks for watching!!!
Commenting for the algorithm but that looks good as hell❤
Thanks!!!!
That Discada looks amazing I'm doing it the same way
Awesome! I wanna change it up but still trying to figure out what I wanna do different.
Way to go awesome presentation!
Thanks!!!
That's great
Thanks!
You had made a comment above what kind of chorizo to use. Please clarify again. My apologies.
Your food looks great!!
I use cacique pork chorizo but like I said be careful because it crumbles very easily and will overcook. If anything cook it with the meat and remove it after it’s cooked, and then add it back in at the end when everything is done.
Great video man. I do a lot of cooking outside but I haven’t tried a disc cooker yet. I think I’ll be getting one for the spring
Thanks Lee! Yea always more fun to cook outside as long as the weather is workin with ya! Thinking about doing a fried fish video here soon, ya cant cook that stuff inside that’s for sure!!!
Carlos that was a great video, my brother and I made our own discatos, lo e cooking with them
Thanks! Yea I sometimes wonder if it would be easier to just make my own too! Always better with family!
@@CarlosLaguna7883 we had a blast making them, I'll try to send you a picture
Gracias por conpartir, Saludos desde el noroeste del estado de Washington USA 🙋♂️
Muchas gracias!!!
Not one bit of spice added, love it.
Nope none of that here!! 😎👍🏼
Carlos I ordered a disc from them and it’s beautiful!
Hell yea! Should last us a lifetime if we take care of them. Very well made!!
Dope video Carlos
Thank you sir! Appreciate it!
My man I like it hot don’t cut them peppers.
Southwest disc recently came out with a 24 inch disc with a formed rim instead of welded, can't wait to get mine.
Lol yea we’re headed to Colorado right now, hoping it doesn’t take a lot of wood to heat this thing up. It’ll be my first time using wood instead of propane!
What kind of beef, pork, and chicken did you use?
For the beef I use stew meat, pork loin center cut chops, and chicken breast. You can buy them in most Mexican grocery stores pre-cut but they’re usually too small. I’d rather just cut it all up myself.
@@CarlosLaguna7883 awesome 👌🏽 thank you for the reply
when you cook for 40 can you do it in one batch or 2.... I have a large church group to cook for... I figure 40
I’ve cooked for 40 twice already and both times I’ve been able to do it in one batch no problem. Just remember when cooking for that many your gonna have a lot of liquid from the tomatoes, take it out if it looks like it’s just boiling the food but don’t throw away the liquid. Add it back in after the vegetables are done. It’ll help to steam the jalapeños and soften up the meat again.
@@CarlosLaguna7883 Thank You.... I am so excited to make this happen, Your awesome
@@johnhenryholiday4964 hey man no problem!!! Let me know how it comes out!!!
Nice video!
Thanks!!!
next time you should put some chorizo on it, you will see the difference
Yea I’ll try that next time for sure!!
What burner are you using?
The one from southwest disk. It collapses so it’s easier to move around.
www.southwestdisk.com/discada-portable-height-adjustable-burner/
@@CarlosLaguna7883 is it pretty sturdy? I imagine that disco is pretty heavy. Awesome video by the way, definitely got me motivated to have discada Sundays.
Oh hell yea plenty sturdy. The disc weighs about 40 pounds, then when you add all that food I bet it’s 50-60 lbs easy, never really worried about it failing.
Good video brother
Thank you thank you!!!
Where did you get that descada mind has no lip.
How much bacon and summer sausage... I didn't hear the amount.... Im guess a pound.... Btw... I built my disk... I got a bit carried away.... its 30 inches and I purchased a banjo burner to heat it.... I wanted the ability to heat fast .... however I prefer to cook slow as your food ALWAYS tastes better when it isn't cooked at high temp... Doc
I usually do one pound of each but lately I’ve been doing two pounds of bacon as we it adds a lot of flavor to the discada. The sausage I keep it at one pound.
@@CarlosLaguna7883 Thank You ... I wasn't sure.... I will drop a line and let you know how it turned out. Doc
All looks great! Where are the tripas?
Shoot my mom and brother love them, me I don’t even wanna be around when they’re cooking them!! 🤣
@@CarlosLaguna7883 fry them extra crispy! I love them!
@@nalgaihunter I heard they stink when you have to clean them tho… 🤢
@@CarlosLaguna7883 it’s no so bad, once they are cleaned, fry them and the taste out ways the smell!
Have you ever made Cabrito Sange! It too smells a little but the taste is awesome!
All look delicioso👍👍👍👍
Gracias!!!
Yeah it’s good I’ll eat it
Live and learn man
Thought it was Jarod from Storage Wars for a second
Does that mean I’m famous??? Yes!!!
🤣🤣🤣
The food was good but I got braces and it was hard to eat but what I ate of it was very good!
Glad you liked it! Cant wait to do it again!
We call that a son of a gun here where I'm from....I use pork chicken and steak and add jalapeños onion and also sausages and hot links in it...not alot of hot link tho
Oh ok cool. Yea I add summer sausage but never thought about adding hot links, gonna have to try that out for sure!
@@CarlosLaguna7883 ima try your way out as well looks amazing sir.
Thank you! Let me know what you think when you do.
Which model is that discada?
It’s the 24" UFO Disk, sku UFO024B from Southwest Disk.
Think I might do this today. Are you in Texas?
lol never mind. You said it at the end? 😂. I’m in San Antonio.
Yup Arlington, gonna actually do another one today for my wife’s birthday! 👍🏼
@@CarlosLaguna7883 happy birthday Mrs. Laguna!!!
BTW where do you go fishing and for what?
Mostly fish for catfish and carp. Favorite pond for carp is Pappy Elkins and for catfish it’s Callicott Student Park aka College Pond.
C’mon it’s not rocket science
lol nobody ever said it was sooooooo….. 👍🏼
🤤🤤🤤
