Great quick summary that helped me troubleshoot my issue of getting them both on the same channel. Very helpful. Thank you!
You're welcome!
This video helped me out. I remember reading about this somewhere. But I couldn't find it again. Long story made short. I couldn't get my pair of used "Radio Rack" radios to talk with my motorolla's.
Do you happen to have a table of what the "Chanels" on the Radio map up-to with the corresponding CTCSS/DCS code? I'm trying to program my BaoFeng radio's.
you just answered my question in this video. thanks. what a bummer they do that.
how do you sign up for the radios
Just bought a pair of Midland XLT for me and my son and it's weird because there's a delay. It cuts off the first part of the word and then transmits. Any thoughts? Great video
hold the transmit button longer before you start speaking?
I just got me a Midland mxt 400 I am using both ctss and dcs codes to talk to a Motorola rep system I can't hear them at all but they can hear me they are on ctss 203.5 and dcs 40 on there system so how can I get it to match up to hear them
I have the same problem have you solved the problem yet?
@@jorgegalvan9371 there is no way to solve it they just don't allow you to do that I been told that poc it's no good for repeater us at all
I bought 2 pairs of T460 motorola walkies talkies of 35 miles. And they have low range in the city Do i need to get a license to get long range. I need some answers please. What do i need to do to get a long range.
The short answer is no, a license will not help you get more range out of your radios. The Motorola T460 is an FRS radio, which is already licensed by rule, meaning that you don't need to buy a license to use it. The problem you are experiencing isn't a licensing issue, it's about your location and surrounding terrain. The 35 mile range posted by the manufacturer is based on use of the radio under optimal conditions. You will get much lower range in the city, which is considered normal, not optimal. The radio range chart in the link below is a more accurate calculation of range, and will help clear up the confusion. For some, it's an eye-opener. www.buytwowayradios.com/blog/2016/12/gmrs_radio_range_chart.html
I have a Midland x talker and want to connect it to my job's network. I've tried the putting it on frequency 7 code 62 as frequency 7 dcs 24 but still nothing. Any advice?
What make and model of radio is your company using? The Midland X-Talker radios operate on license-free FRS frequencies. If your company is using business or commercial analog or digital radios, your Midland radios won't communicate with them.
There's a cloud showing in my midland gxt 1000 vp4 how to get rid of it ?
The GXT1000 is equipped with NOAA weather channels and a weather alert feature. The cloud icon means the weather channels are active. To remove the cloud icon you will need to go into the menu and access the weather radio function. Once you are in the weather radio, press the PTT button to disable it. Full instructions are on page 18 of the Midland GXT1000 Owner's Manual, which is available online.
I found my lxt385 from 7 years ago and idk if it does have any battery problems and I also wanna know many different features so if you guys can help me out I'll appreciate
The Midland LXT385 was discontinued years ago, but our original product page listing all its features is still available from our web site at Buy Two Way Radios. If you click on the downloads tab on the page for this link you can obtain the owners manual. www.buytwowayradios.com/midland-lxt-385vp3.html

When in dual watch mode the midland radio only hears the same radio set the same
I have a Motorola T60 walkie talkie and now I bought Midland XT70. Midland can hear what Motorola broadcasts, but Motorola remains silent when Midland broadcasts. Why?
he just explained it, you need to set either ctcss or dcs on the midland depending what privacy number you set on motorola
I am trying to get my Midland GTX1030s to talk to a Motorola group with privacy code 11. It appears the GTX1030 does not support CTSS codes, only DCS. Any clue about that?
The GXT1030 does support CTCSS codes. The hurdle here is that Midland and Motorola assign CTCSS tones and DCS codes to a number in the menu of their radios, with the number being different for both of them. The way around this is to look up the CTCSS tone chart in the manual for each radio and match the menu number to the tone or code you want each radio to use, and assign the same one to each radio.
Did you ever figure it out? I’m trying to do the same thing as you
