When my son was a junior in high school. His classmate we saw at Walmart, he had a look of lost and no hope, he told us his mother passed from a stroke. His little brother got to stay with his aunt. We asked him were he was sleeping he said bus bench. My wife and I didn’t hesitate to bring him to our house. His dad was looked up. We made a little area for him to have and a key to the house for he became part of the family. For that 1 year and 6 months Shawn stayed at our house he told us that We were the reason he graduated High School, for his family didn’t want him but we did. I was raised to do the right thing and helping others feel wanted and be positive makes a difference

It kind of is coz in rs we were doing Christianity and on one of the lessons we watched this movie coz it related to some rs stuff

I agree. I think showing movies like this one to our children is EXACTLY what this country needs right now. THIS is what matters. It didn't MATTER to her that he was black boy from wrong side of the tracks and she was white lady from a classy family with a nice home. She showed a lost, lonely child compassion and he repaid her a thousand-fold for her kindness. She gave him a chance to live and he protected her family. THIS is what children should see. Not what the world is showing them now.

As a teacher, this is exactly the type of kids we truly want to help. Such a sweet nice kind soul with so much potential. So much pain but goodness in his eyes.
