This makes me sad. He was Mario in every way. I met him multiple times. He was so kind and sweet and he was full of life and love. Just like Mario… Well… Charles thank you so so so much for all your work. You brought the most beloved video game character, one of the most beloved characters in anything, to life in a way no one else could have done. You were wonderful. You brought joy to my life and millions of other people. We will always love you.

As hard as it is to believe, there was no way Charles was gonna do this forever. He's not getting any younger, and he has a life to live. One that he values. It was an honor hearing his voice grow up with me, but I'm also happy for him and his adventure outside of the Mushroom Kingdom

I can't believe that even though I've personally been with Mario since the DS era, Charles stayed throughout the entire series for this long. He's such a fascinating voice for Mario, I hope he knows how much he means to us all!

It almost felt like he was almost if Mario was right next to him, but as every Mario game goes it is time for the red plumber to say: “Let’s a go!” thank you for being there for us Martinet.

It's so sad to see a legend like Charles leave the role as a character as important as MARIO, it probably won't feel the same without him since he's been the voice for so long...
He's been in the roll for as long as Mario has had a voice. The only exceptions where those weird American cartoons where Mario was voiced by some guy named Lou and the weird Japanese anime adaptation of Mario 1 that has its own voice for Mario. Also, Mario 64 wasn't the first game Mario was voiced by Charles in, the first game was "Mario's Game Gallery" for the MS DOS.
It won't be the same but the new voice seems to be giving it a super solid try so far and the voice is fun in Wonder so as long as Charlies is still involved and I guess training the new guy or people that will come next I think Mario is in safe hands

Wether it’s Charles health, some BTS stuff or just Charles feeling like he’s done, Charles Martinet has given such an iconic and recognizable voice to a beloved and iconic character. I wish him the best and hope that they get some who takes it over is just as good or if they are going with archival audio. Just don’t use AI.
It's a new voice I don't know if Nintendo understands AI honestly and the Japanese put a lot of respect on voice actors. The voice of Ash and Goku have been the same since the beginning
Nintendo is extremely hesitant ant to jump on trends. They're probably not going to touch AI until a few years go by.

I feel gutted by this. Charles’ voices for not just Mario, but Luigi, Wario, etc., has been such a huge part of not just my and so many others’ childhoods, but most of our lives. He’s going to be greatly missed.
Charles Martinet stepping away from voice acting is one of those things that I never wanted to happen, even though it was inevitable.
His iconic and lovable voices have been simple music to our ears for generations, and I commend him for that. I’m willing to keep an open mind for whoever takes up the mantle(s) of his characters next.
More importantly his new role as “Mario Ambassador” sounds like a ton of fun and I wish him all the best.

Man, even though I knew at some point this would happen, it is bittersweet to see this actually happen. Mario was a huge icon for me when I was a kid, and he still is to this day. Thank you so much Charles Martinet for bringing Mario, Luigi, and other characters to life, and best of luck on being the new Mario Ambassador.
I am literally crying right now, my entire childhood i grew up with Nintendo and mostly Mario. I'll go as far as to say he shaped me into the person i am today. Just woke up to hear this news. Very sad, but it was bound to happen since he's done the voice for 3 decades. He's shaped up my childhood in a great way since I was introduced to Mario during the GameCube era and gave me great memories hearing his legendary voice he provided.

No, unfortunately, it was circumstances. An example is the different voices of Mario characters. Do not change of character voices of New Mario on Voice everything the wrong way voices it was glitching in the game

Also, Nintendo, if you're hearing this, maybe you could hire Vinny from Vinesauce to be Mario's VA now? If you look at his videos, you'll see he did a great job at mimicking Lou Albano and Danny Wells (SMB Super Show Mario and Luigi), This is just a suggestion, but think about it.

I’ve been watching Vinesauce for years and he’s been doing impressions of DiC Mario and Luigi, and I thought that it sounded very good….
here's the issue with that. as you said, he did a great job at doing the voice of the *super show* mario bros
ignoring the fact that fans will never forget martinet's iconic voice, nintendo knows that the best decision from most-every angle would be to keep mario's voice as similar as possible to charles' mario voice. the super show voice is nowhere near similar to that
don't get me wrong, i LOVED lou albino and danny wells - they were apart of my *childhood* (may they rest in peace). but nintendo would never choose someone who can't replicate martinet's mario voice to some extent

Seriously, thank you so much, Charles. You brought me so much joy in my darkest moments. Every time I turned on my Nintendo consoles and heard your voice, I felt happy. It felt like a portal opened up that I could step into and escape from the troubles of the real world. I've never met the man myself, but from videos I've seen of others meeting him, he was EXACTLY like the character he played. Happy, joyful, radiating all the positive energy, and so full of wonder.
EDIT: I've just realised that because of this news, the last time we heard Charles Martinet was in the Mario movie, and the last line we heard him say was "These are my boys!" which... wow. What a way to go out. These are our boys too. :)
