Washington State Ferries: The Work Never Stops

- Washington State Ferries is the single largest ferry system in the United States. It is actually considered to be part of the state highway system, and its 21 vessels carry over 24 Million passengers annually.
Day and night, year round, the crew members of these ferries are working hard around the decks and at all 20 of the terminals in the Puget Sound and the nearby San Juan Islands.
Daily work. Unpredictable weather. This is their story.

Love Helly Hansen and Washington State Ferries! When I was the Operations Manager at Victoria Clipper in the late 1990s we wore fantastic jackets that kept us warm, dry, and looking good.
What a special experience, those ferries... never get tired of it!
One of favorite childhood memories while living in the Pacific NW. I wouldn't mind doing that now as a new Retirement Job.

A shame the governor ruined the finest ferry system in the world. July 2022 and they're still running at half schedule or less, it's nearly a useless ferry system now, unless your workday to be 15 hours with the ferry ride.

She was dying from laughter. She’s keys… get the keys away from your brother.
My brother locked the keys in the car. My mom was oh no how are we getting off the ferry.
I’m let’s find a coat hands no break the window.
I’m kicking in the window there is a schedule we need to move this car off the ferry.
