    This is my favorite channel for reviews . Always thorough, well demonstrated and clearly show how to use the machine, without being overly technical. The best.

    What about cooling flushes? Do they need to be done especially after couple of hours where the machine sits idle?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před rokem

      I do recommend doing a cooling flush if the machine has been idle.

    ECM machine are really desirable, but just so big in the depth. I wouldn't hesitate buying one if they made a heat exchanger a little bit smaller or installed PID on one of the HE models. And also maybe a little bit stylish like the Appartamento.

      Check out the newly released Profitec Pro 400. Profitec and ECM are sister companies. The Pro 400 has a very small footprint and very stylish design and while it doesn't have a PID it does have three temperature settings which are very easily changed using a three position switch.

    Hi! How much is the total height when water tank lid is open? We have to place the machine under a cabinet, and it might be a problem... Thanks!

    Are heat exchangers better than double boilers ?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před 2 lety +1

      No, they are different. A heat exchanger will do for most people, especially if your primary drink has milk. A double boiler gives you the added control of the espresso extraction temperature. So double boiler machines do have more control

      @@iDrinkCoffeeCanada so you really need a dedicated device for each product

    Bought this machine from Crema Coffee Garage in Brisbane Australia 2 weeks ago. A fantastic machine. Got it plumbed in with a water filter attached. The automatic machines we had are now gone and can now enjoy cafe style coffee at home...

    i just got a technika V (from IDC) . I noticed pump pressure is under 9 bar (8.8) . do you have any video I can watch? process of increasing the pump pressure ( i want to increase them bang on at 9). Also, playing around the PID, changing C to F units having problem, followed steps by steps in the manual but not getting the "o" at PID screen.

    I see you used a small 12oz milk pitcher. Does it have enough steam power for a 20oz pitcher? Thank you.

    if I use the PID to increase the shot temp, does it bring up the bar pressure as well? For instance, if I did one shot at 9 Bar 190 degrees and then raised the temp for the next shot to 200 degrees, would my bar pressure increase to 9.5 or 10 bar?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi, no increasing the temperature does not impact the extraction pressure

    I am puzzled regarding the temperature setting of the boiler .at 120 since i was under the impression that the optimum brew temperature for espresso is more or less between 91 and 96* centigrade .Am i correct in assuming that there is a 24* loss in temperature from the boiler to the brew head?

    Can you retroactive add a PID to a Technica Profi IV?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před 4 lety

      Unfortunately not, this would require changing too many parts and would be quite costly.

    Thanks for the great review. Something I wonder: Is this machine quieter than ECM Syncronika?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před 4 lety +5

      They are going to be pretty close since they use the same pump. Sound is actually a difficult thing to gauge because two machines that are the same model can sound slightly different.

    What do you think is the best Boiler temp. At 120 deg. Theres Not much steam power, the Boiler pressure goes Ferry fast under .7bar on my machine. Enough for espresso Shot?

    Slawek, great overview as you always do. On the water fill, you often describe these tanks as easy to fill... but a large number of buyers will need to install these under a cabinet, where they become the opposite of easy to fill. At 40+ kg, you can no longer spin them around like a little machine. What tricks do people use to get water into these rear mounted tanks, assuming you are not able to plumb in?

    • @fransrosema3698
      @fransrosema3698 Před 4 lety +2

      I would assume one could use another water container that is on top of the cabinet and use a syphoning tube to the water tank of the espresso machine

    So if you had to choose between Rocket Giotto Evoluzione R Rotary Pump Espresso Coffee Machine with Shot Timer & ECM Heidelberg Technika V Profi PID WT-WC. Which one would you suggest?

  • @maddog8148

    Rocket or ECM? Which one would you pick to buy if you had $2500 about to spend on a machine?

    • @iDrinkCoffeeCanada
      @iDrinkCoffeeCanada  Před 5 lety +3

      First I will preface that these are both great products from quality manufacturers. I did make this choice personally and I chose the Rocket. I have a Rocket R58 at home.

    Is there a need to do a cooling flush for this machine or does the temperature stay consistent at the group head?
