This movie remains timeless and a classic. I cry at the scene where Marlin tells Nemo he met a sea turtle who was 150 years old every time.
!!!! bc marlin is thinkin bout nemo in a wholesome way. like he isn't just thinkin bout findin nemo in gen, but he KNOWS he will find him alive! its my FAVE prt too đđđ
6:07 Seb's first introduction to Bruce the Shark was awesome đ
R.I.P to the Voice Actor of Bruce just heard he passed recently
@@de606returns6 So sad! R.I.P
i scrumpt
Time to watch *Jaws* now.
I remember almost having a heart attack!
I always cried at the beginning and when heâs holding the egg. Itâs a core memory.
RIP Barry Humphries, who not only played Bruce the Shark, but also fabulous Dame Edna Everage. What a talent!
Rip fish are friends not food

Glenn McQueen was an animator for Pixar who died of leukemia during the production. Lightning McQueenâs name is also a tribute to him.
I remember watching the opening sequence in the cinema with my jaw dropped. So beautiful. Such a great film
Fun fact: Certain species of sea turtles eat jellyfish and are immune to being stung. It's been theorised that the jellyfish venom gives them a high.
So all of those sea turtles acting baked right after encountering a swarm of jellyfish is...something to think about.
Oh my good I knew that but never put it together đđđ
I love finding Nemo but I didn't think I'd like finding Dory but I ended up really loving it đ it's the only animated movie that made me cry đ
My sister forced me to watch finding Dory. I didn't want to, because I knew that i'm too sensitive. But she persuaded me by saying that it wasn't sad. As a result, I sobbed almost the whole movie. And it were very ugly sobs.
@@KBeez it be like that sometimes lol
@@KBeez I cant even blame u im the same
Fun fact about the water animation:
When they were animating it, they showed it to the boss, and they were promptly told to do it all over.
The reason? It was TOO realistic. They said if the waters too realistic, the audience would mistake it for a documentary, and fall asleep.
"The movie looks too good, do it again, but this time do it worse!"
@multronz5567 hey in some cases, that's a good thing. Uncanny valley isn't always your friend.
With animation, it's all about the style. I can see what they meant with the water. @@multronz5567 Like the 3d fish models still need to work with the water below them
that fiest shark smile scene with Bruce legit traumatised me and made me SUPER afraid of sharks as a kidđ
When I was little I had a fear of almost everything! Chucky, clowns, ghosts, demons, etc, but only two things carried over to my adult life, spiders and Bruce, I literally canât watch this movie, my friends make fun of me for it, but when I see him I instantly flinch and look away, i am basically a grown ass man scared of an animated shark, worse part? Bruce is scarier than the realistic sharks in movies like Meg, I can watch those movies and without a problem!
I will forever love this movie, even though as a kid the Anglerfish and Darla scared me so much I had literal nightmares about them both I always found myself coming back to it along with Toy Story 2 and The Incredibles
I also used to have the two disc edition with all the behind the scenes stuff, they put a lot of research into this movie and I deeply respect it
Oh yeah, the special edition DVDs would take literal DAYS to complete ALL of the features. Surreal sometimes to remember that it was 20 years ago. It's still on my shelf with my Pixar collection.
@@Wawagirl17 I still watch it with my nephews to this day, I'm glad I still have it
I think the only part that really scared me as a kid was the whale showing up.
The part that scared me as a kid was the part with the barracuda
@@Jashwannn that barracuda was really scary too
Finding Dory is SOO worth watching it. It really is a roller coaster. It made me cry the first time, even now it still does.
Thisđđ»
I almost preferred it over finding nemo
Its not worth watching. Its dumb and forced compared to this natural and pure first one.
my son is now 20 years old, but when he was a toddler and could sit on my lap, we watched this movie on DVD at least a million times! boy, do I miss those days...
10:29 "Sea Monkey has my money" đ out of nowhere
I remember watching this in theaters on the last day of school when I was a little kid. Such a nostalgic film. Love rewatching! Very well made, fun, and emotional.
And YES WATCH FINDING DORY!!
Actually the question about Glenn McQueen and Cars is correct, Glenn was an animator at Pixar but passed away from skin cancer, so in honour of him they named lighting McQueen after him â€
I liked this as a kid but I've awoken to LOVINGGG this as an adult! so so good, definitely a favorite! and I will say, I think they did a wonderful job coming back after 14 years with Finding Dory so I would recommend đ„°
this was the first movie that I have ever seen in a cinema. I was four years old. I was so freaked out from the get-go that had my eyes and ears closed for nearly the %80 of the movie and ended up fearing diving masks, sharks, and kids with braces for years đ
Same! My mum took me, first film in a new city, right after we moved to Istanbul. Such a precious memory.
đđ the scared of kids with braces is funny
I remember seeing it at the movie theater too.
I was only scared at the beginning scene when Coral was eaten by the barracuda.
26:09 LOL Seb giving the middle finger to Darla with a serious face *MOOD!!!!!!* ahahahahahhahaha Also, when Finding Nemo was released in 2003 Disney does not own Pixar yet until 2006 so yeah it's a Pixar film now distributed by Disney.
The fact I am well into my teens and still balling my eyes out to this movie, really says a lot about the quality.
It always blows my mind how even though this movie is so beyond iconic and classic, the opening is so beyond sad and dark.
I used to watch this movie so much that I knew the ENTIRE dialogue for the whole movie from beginning to end. Such a good movie!
âStop you little b****â HAD ME LAUGHING SO HARD
This movie is such a good childhood movie. It's just sad to think about that the voice actor who played Bruce passed away somewhat recently. RIP to a voice childhood voice actor.
My father wasn't around much growing up, nor did he show emotion rarely. I remember he randomly took me to see this when I was younger and looked over to him tearing up. To this day a memory ill remember always.
Some of my favourite lines from the film â€. "When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keeping swimming", "I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my squishy". đ. Also that turtle was high ASF on seaweed lol
Im so happy im not the only one that still gets jumpscared by Bruce even as an adult.
This is my favourite Pixar film! So glad you enjoyed it. Donât feel bad about getting scared at Bruceâs introduction - Iâve lost track of how many times Iâve seen this film and his entrance still shakes me up every time.
My first kiddo turns two this summer. One of the hardest and most rewarding things to do as a parent is âkill the motorâ and wait for the child to figure out the problem on their own. Itâs so hard because you know you can fix it easily, but so awesome when you see the little one work it out and look at you with the happiest âI did it!â look in their eyes
Yes, finding dori is definitely worth a watch. Its a really thought out story and its very funny and emotional â€
it is also an og Pixar movie. I was a teenager when this came out and me and all me friends loved it. we saw it on repeat and couldn't fathom how a movie could be this perfect. if somebody doesn't like finding nemo I can't be friends with them
What I like about Finding Nemo is that this is presumably Pixar's Greatest Achievement ever especially since it gave Pixar the 3rd Oscar Award for Best Animated Feature.
*Eat your heart out Disney*
This movie is both Pixar and Disney
While Disney did distribute it, Pixar made the actual movie, therefore they are the creators of the film.
My dad used to work with a lady who got a major jellyfish sting on her arm it was so severe that her arm looked like hamburger it was awful. They got her to a hospital and saved her arm but she still had severe scarring from it. I would recommend Finding Dory highly.
The father-son stories (like Lion King, Finding Nemo, Kung Fu Panda, How to train your dragon) are my favorite.
5:56 For 2003 (damn, I was 2 years old...) the attention to detail in Pixar's animation, like Dory's sparkly eye particulates in her irises, and Marlin's reflections in her pupils, is PHENOMENAL.
24:33 the best funniest part of the movie lol đđđđ
I love reliving these movies through you. My mom gave me some fantastic parenting advice when I had my first child: Only show them movies/shows that you are okay watching 500 times a day. This was one of the first movies I showed my eldest. Words of wisdom from the best mother I could have ever asked for. đ
29:04 sebâs â whose that â sent me for no reason đ rip though
I saw this in theatres when I was a kid, thirteen years old. Bruce first showing up made me cry, according to my mother. Probably because I had seen Jaws when I was twelve, and that scarred me. I also first saw The Shining at that age. No wonder this movie scared the shit outta me. Still can't help but love this movie though, I could quote it for you lmao
It's funny because Bruce is the nickname, Spielberg gave to his mechanical shark for " Jaws "
Honestly, Dory speaking "whale" remains my favourite part of this film.
Man⊠I used to love this movie when I was still a child and hearing the beautiful majestic music throughout the movie takes me back into that lovely childhood feelingâ€ïž
6:14 Bruce was named after the animatronic shark that frequently failed to work in "Jaws," which is why you don't see the shark very much in the movie. They were going to show it more, but it broke so many times they limited the footage of it, and it ended up being scarier. They named the model shark after Spielberg's lawyer.
8:08 Reference to the "HEEEEERE'S JOHNNY!" scene in "The Shining."
24:11 Musical reference to the infamous shower stabbing scene in "American Psycho."
When seb uploads its the best feeling ever. It light's up my day thanks sebđ
11:45 "They just lost their magic" so true
I believe people like Seb just randomly pop up out of nowhere (or probably from another dimension), having never watched any of the most iconic films just to let us see this pure emotion we once felt when watching these films for the first time
So, according to Wikipedia:
Glenn McQueen was an animation supervisor at Pixar who worked on Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life and Monsters Inc.
Eventually in late 2001 he was diagnosed with a skin cancer known as melanoma, but pressed on, until he succumbed in October 2002 (when Finding Nemo was in production)
And like you pointed out, he was likely who Lightning McQueen was named after!
i was literally tearing up watching this, this film is so good đđđ
For anyone who didnât know⊠the mechanical shark that Spielberg used in filming Jaws was given a nickname by the crew:
Bruce.
I think this opening is sadder than Up's opening. At least Carl and Ellie got to grow old together, even though Ellie never got that vacation they dreamed of. This movie opens with a dad losing his wife and most of his kids. No wonder he's overprotective, Nemo is all he has left.
I watched this in theaters when I was a kid so every jump-scare came with amplified surround sound so imagine how fun that was đ đđ
I remember being in 3rd grade and my friends that already saw it in theaters telling me how amazing this movie was but also mentioning that the beginning was sad. Then days later I went to theaters with my grandparents to see it and I was in loveeee with this movie
16:55 There was a 40 minute musical at Disney's Animal Kingdom but after 2020 a shorter musical version came out at 25 minutes. In Epcot to can talk to Crush at the Living Seas now "The Seas with Nemo & Friends". In Paris they have Crush's Coaster which is a fun Spinning Roller Coaster attraction.
Finding Dory is definitely worth the watch imo. I enjoyed it just as much as this movie, and it delivered on the emotions and laughs just like this one did.
This was my childhood, but now that I rewatched it, I seriously wonder how I wasn't scarred! This movie is scary!
Yeah you should really watch finding Dory! Itâs a really good sequel and the overall vibe is a lot more fun instead of dark while still having those emotional moments. Both are top tier movies.
Thomas Newmanâs score in this film was incredible
Beautifully animated! And to be honest, I blame this movie for my childhood obsession with marine biology đ
The little seahorse who's allergic to h2o is the equalisation to people with asthma
Finding Dory is definitely worth it, one of the best sequels.
I was once stung by a man-O-war in Florida when a big swell came through. I was only 8 years old at the time and was luckily only stung on my right knee because people can die if they get tentacles wrapped around thier neck or chest. It was very painful and traumatizing! My knee blew up like a balloon and had nasty marks. This was day 4 of a 2 week vacation at a house on the beach and i was too afraid to even go back on the beach the whole summer.
10:10 - I LOVE Gill. He reminds me SO much of my dad, who had SO much confidence in my abilities. My dad (as my role mode / life coach) is WHY I've been able to bravely attack my own life challenges while fully focused and not letting fear get in my way.
I feel like a fish being H2O intolerant is like the equivalent to allergies because thatâs just someone being allergic to the air basically
"So many of them die. It's so sad" said with the biggest smile đ 17:53
Seb, I've been binge watching your videos and can honestly say I love your reactions to these movies, especially the emotional ones. It's just great to see.
OMG I Really Love This Movie and Remember Watching it in Theaters as a Kid. The Next day after watching i told to one of the Janitors in my Elementary school who i talked with sometimes, telling him that the Shark is named Bruce like his name. He Laughed ;3 Great Times then.
pretty sure turtles get âhighâ from eating jellyfish so technically theyâre actually stoners đ
I loved this movie so much as a kid it was literally my first email address đ I used to put it on every day after school and would watch it over and over until I fell asleep haha this was also in the days of dvds so I had the dvd menu memorized from the amount times I woke up with it playing in the background đ„čđ
Lilo and Stitch will forever be my favourite, but this one reaches top 5 every few years
RIP Legend Barry Humphries, voice of Bruce.
Nemo is such a classic.
This is definitely my comfort movie. It was such a sensational hit when it first came out. I remember going to a birthday party when I was 5 and kid got a present with Nemo wrapping paper and all the adults were talking about how great it was, so my dad took my sisters and I to the theatre for a special dad and daughter date. The fire alarm went off right before Nemo found his dad and they had to evacuate the theatre, and once it was cleared they just started from the beginning again. We were so excited!
This is by far my favourite YT Channel!! I feel like Iâm watching these films for the first time again đ
For the scene of Dory telling Marlin to stay with her and what he means to her, the producers wanted to do a test run on the day to see if Ellen Degeneres was actually capable of delivering an emotional moment. That test recording is the one they used in the film
I didn't see this movie as a kid...i was an adult when it came out đ
Absolutely love this film. Have you ever seen Aristocats or Oliver And Company? I would love to see your reactions to those if you haven't!
I love this movie so much, I used to have the DVD đ (remember those?) A great animated aquatic film you should see is Miyazakiâs PONYO, itâs an absolutely brilliant masterpiece as all of his films are. đ đđŹđłđđđđïž
That's one I still haven't seen yet, might just give it a watch tonight!
He didn't even speak, and you *already* recognized Will's voice! đ
"Ring of fire!"
Shouldn't it be a "ring of bubbles"? đ€
The Croatian overdub of those "charades" fish is *hilarious* !
Trust me! đ
The turtle is giving me *Bill & Ted* vibes...dude. đ
Literally my favorite Disney/Pixar movie. Still love it to this day
The closest aquarium to me has got a display in the first hall which deliberately has as many Finding Nemo species as possible- clownfish, blue tang, moorish idol etc. So kids get interested and also learn the proper names.
As a kid born in Sydney that had to move away to Canada. I was 5 when this came out and hits so close to home. Always was my favourite movie. My uncles nickname for me was even Sharkbait đ
This is actually such a beautiful film. Definitely being older or an adult makes it 10x more than what it already is because like you said the themes and messages within the film.
Why is Seb being so adorable this whole movie reaction? XD
Now that I have rewatched this movie, I am not surprised that I found it extremely scary. I think it is so scary because you're following a story about a fish who won't be capable of doing anything against anything. All they can do is swim away.
unpopular opinion... finding Nemo is better than the Toy Story franchise. Even though toy story franchise is good, it's just something that Finding Nemo that really does it for me at least. I remember watching it when I was about 6 or 7 years old and I still come back to it with such joy and emotional connection with Nemo. The character development is phenomenal and great humor in it too. the Music score is awesome and is just a 5 star movie for me
Iâd have to agree with your comment about Disney classics and how the ones that come out now donât feel as magical, I feel like they recycle ideas now and the newer movies just canât compare to the ones that are at least a decade old. Disney movies like finding Nemo are just pure nostalgia and enjoyment, all while having a style thatâs really beautifulâŠunlike the animation they use now đ
Like what they say old is always gold
@@wingman5100 very true, oftentimes nowadays they spit out new movies in a very âquantity over qualityâ manner, and it ruins the fun
True, and the live action remakes are so annoying now
@@divinelangene6813 yep! further proof that they have no new ideas, and just continue to remake old movies that definitely donât need a remake. The OG is always better.
@@purplepeopleeater8393 true, they want to remake Moana now , do they have no new ideas whatsoever
the baracuda, bruce, and angler fish are single-handedly responsible for my debilitating fear of all waterđ€Ł
1:00 lol it's gestate, dear Seb, and it takes between 7-10 days so those eggs were very recently laid probably within maybe 3-4 days
The music for this movie is so perfect. Anytime you hear it you think of the ocean
25:37 has to be the funniest thing I seen all week đ
Your timing is actually perfect as Iâm watching my high school practice the little Nemo junior play
Iâd recommend Finding Dory. Not as iconic as the first, but still very enjoyable and some great comedy!
There is a dark fan theory about this film. The theory says that Nemo never existed and was also eaten by the Baracuda at the start. This entire film is about Marlin going through the 5 stages of grief, with a lot of supporting characters telling him to let go of his son. Nemo even translates to 'Nobody' in latin, so this might be true.
I had cats named Hunky and Dory â€
First time I ever hear anyone talk about Spore. Loved it. Wish we a remake that I could use in my classroom. Good stuff Seb.
Peeing on your foot is an old myth lol it doesnât stop the pain from jellyfish stings đ
Finding Dory is also really good, which is rare for a sequel.
Funnily enough, Bruce and the other sharks were my favorite characters as a kid. Even my favorite shirt was one with Bruce on it that said, "Lunch Time!"
While growing up I used to watch Finding Nemo EVERY time I watched a scary movie; needless to say I know every word.đ Glad you enjoyed it as much as you did, great video as usual! đ
My daughter was obsessed with this movie for years. I enjoyed your reaction to this movie.
Rip Barry Humphries voice of big Bruce! What a legend
I was just gonna say, "Are you literally kidding me? You haven't seen this?" Glad you clarified it lol
