  • Today's VS Code tip: terminal profiles
Launch a specific shell in the integrated terminal
VS Code auto creates profiles for common shells such as bash, command prompt, and PowerShell. You can further configure these default profiles or create entirely new profiles.

your terminal profile also supports an "icon" property. Any idea, how to get the python icon? Would make sense for a python terminal.

How do I make it work with kitty on Linux? If I change path to /usr/bin/kitty and launch new kitty terminal inside vscode, it simply opens a terminal window outside vscode.

They must have changed VS Code since this video. No longer has a pull down for different terminal profiles. All it shows is [>] sh. Been searching the web for hours trying to find how to add or change the terminal profile in VS Code and have not been able to find anything yet.
