Volkswagen Caddy MK2
But the other system is similar in most vag cars. Just the part is a bit different.

First time i have ever replaced anything on a car, and it works! great video and thanks.
Ow man that must give you a rush right! Saving money and learning a skill.
5 minutes watching this video I did change my cv boot easy peasy
Thanks appreciate it
Good job! 👍 glad that the video was useful.
@@TheDutchGarage your video made it possible to do it without your video it would have took me way longer
Taping the shaft with a hummer carefully job done
Thanks 🙏 again
Thank you for this video.

Cool video I’m pleased you continued to the outer joint and didn’t give up!!! Thanks for your effort
No problem.
Thanks mate, helped me pry out the axle (just shoved a spanner and pushed and it came out, after ~30 mins with a prybar and no luck, lol.
They can be stubborn, it needs a sharp pull to come out. Glad to help. 👍
Excellent video, thanks for sharing
It is always great to hear from you. Thanks for sticking around.
You are so funny. In a comedian sense I mean. Secondly. I like the way your not afraid to do things in the not so correct way. You get the job done though in a safe and fast way. Kia ora. (Keep well. In my native Maori language N.Z.)
Thank you for you compliment, i really appreciate that.
Awesome narrative Sir..................too much style and knowledge here ! definitely not any BULLSHIT music ha ha
Very good.Very useful.Thx
That's great to hear.
enjoyable video that's both informative and entertaining. Will help get the job done. Cheers
Wel thank you!
Excellent video. I like your "pot kruk"
Well thank you. I also like my bottle jack "pot krik"
This is great, realistic and humerous too! (eg : i am looking for the fool). But i just removed a drive shaft from my Caddy2 and there are some differences. Happily, the shaft is easier to remove because the hub bolts to the macpherson strut with 2 horizontal bolts (18mm ring spanner),
Humor? Were?! Glad that it helpt you in your quest. And it is true that by removing the hub bolts you can get it out easier. In the past you could change your camber settings with this bolts. And I don't want to do a alignment after a axle change. But on the more modern cars it is most of the time fixed. It is just a old habit I think.
Good job
I think you are correct ..there sometimes is a difference between the left and right side ..
Very informative and funny
Thank you
Thanks a lot
No problem!
Hi have mk1 golf i changed linkage rubbers but it only grinding in revers but if give it small touch while it on it gos in some time u have play wit n gos in what could b worn
Great video. I only need to change the boot on the outer joint, is there any specific advice?
ware protection... gloves I main of course it really is a nasty job. Just be sure jou don't pull out the inner cv joint from itself or the transition when you try to remove the outer cv joint. Or remove the whole axle from the car like I did. But be sure to top off the gearbox oil when you do that. See my other video about replacing the clutch czcams.com/video/8hkVDNWImrE/video.html some ware around the 25/26 mark I show you how to do that.
How much back and forward movement should there be on a inner tripod CV joint
What do you recommend if I can't push new outer CV joint past the split ring on the axle? I try hitting with a hammer and also using OEM split ring but I get same result
I have seen people using a big ziptie or hose clamp to keep te c clip down. when putting it back. Sometimes a big glob of grease also helps.
What torque force to use to tighten the axle nut?
Is 290 Nm too much?
Or should it be in between 200-290 Nm??
What I could find it is 290nm.
Nice videos👍 When we get More videos of Toyota ke10? 😎
Thank you. For some reason half of my family
decided to move last couple of months so I was more moving furniture that moving wrenches for some time now.
@@TheDutchGarage Sometimes we need to move furnitures 🤗 for good reason. I keep following so IT Will show My CZcams When u have finnished your furnitures tranportation 😎 Take care and all The best
Hi, do you have a link to that replacement shaft? I did the same as you and bought the wrong inner joint online...
I looked but could not find were I bought it from.
My outer joint doesn't come off at all. I've hammered it to a point where it made a spark but nothing. What's the trick?
These can be really tricky. Try to clamp the shaft to something solid like the control arm. And with a sharp wack try to get it loose. It's doesn't have to be a full forse blow. Good luck.
how comes you did not grease the splines when putting on the new outer joints?
Don't know, it just didn't feel like I had to. They slide right on. But to prevented them getting stuck it is probably a good idea.
@@TheDutchGarage I think it's because you enjoy hammering stuff like that off haha, thanks for the video
@@jac1793 They can be REALLY stuck on there! Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate that 👍
I don't have a special made tool like that how expensive is that tool to bind those tabs
Maybe 10 euro. But depending on what kind of straps you get. Not all of them need a special tool.
Just got my left side replaced, but the dakadakadakadak is still there, pleaseeee help.
Other side? maybe gearbox bearings?
@@TheDutchGarage turns out its my inner cv
Wel I know what you are going to do this weekend.🙂👍
26:56 What forum do you use for the Skoda Felicia ?
I don't remember anymore.
everyone shows outer cv joint couse is easier to change it or what whats the point of 100 same videos on youtube
That is true, i was really bummed out that the inner cv joint didn't fit.
You put to much tension on the clamp. At 21.41 you will see it almost cut it. But not bad for a IT :)
Just tight enough :-)
Theres two very timely cuts: when the balljoint goes out and when it goes in.
I cant get mine. It gets stuck on the crevis where the bolt goes thrue. Its comepletly stuck....
F¤¤k i hate cars right now
That sucks indeed. Did you lift both front tires from the ground? The swaybar is most of the time the ass in the story. It pushed the baljoint up.
@@TheDutchGarage weird thing is that i have no swaybar :s it's the thing down at the spindel/ball joint?
I doubt that you don't have one. But try to lift both front wheels from the ground.
@@TheDutchGarage some do, some don't. They tend to break so perhaps a prev. owner removed it
big short cut
You are probably right.
since when is a caddy mk 2 a skoda felicia WTF??
They don't, but they share some parts like these joints.
@@TheDutchGarage aah ok my friend, now I know.
