I don't get why they don't offer the A380 with trent XWB engines. That should yield an improvement in fuel burn.
It is not. The Trent XWB was installed on the A380 for tests before it was actually under the A350's wings. The A380 was simply a flying testbed.
Even with the fuel burn it still has too large a capacity that is attractive to customers, making it another faliure.
