Wish I'd seen this video earlier! Had to walk with a flat tire from the ferry in Dover yesterday! Couldn't get the bead out of the rim to place a spare inner tube. This way it works perfect. Thanks.
Brilliant! Thank you! I've just spent 15 mins wondering how to get tyre levers under the bead. Would never have thought to stand on the tyre to unseat it 🙃
I managed to get my tyres off using 2 sets of mole grips, not something I routinely carry with me on the bike! It was so difficult I was going to sell the wheelset but now I'm going to put one of the tyres back on and give this a go..
Thanks a lot man! I spent a couple of hours about this shit until i got sick of it and thought to myself someone in youtube must have solved the Secret formula.
Just struggled with my 3.0" WTB Rangers almost half an hour without getting them off and thought WTF?? Never had so tight tires before, but the foot trick helped to brake the bead. Thanx!
Thanks for the tip but, while doing that I have sratched the paint on the inner part of the rim. It's just a triffle but I guess better than struggling for an hour with one like last time :D There should be some smooth system developed alongside these tyres for an easy removal.
Okay, used this to get the tire off but how the hell is it dropping back on that easy? I'm putting WTB trailblazer onto the Canondale beast 27.5 rim and it's breaking mine and my father-in laws hands to get the last bit of tire back on
Have the same problem... Got a sonder which mount this blady rim.... Got them off after a while but now trying to get new tire in which is a maxxis dhr.... The last bit won't go in.... How did you sort in the end??? Would be nice to know....
@@nathans.8063 Yes I did sort it. Basically I brush the tired with some water and soup and then using the same technique as for pulling out the tired but instead pushing inside
easy just fixate on one point put pressure with your heel on it then the whole thing plops out, its kind of different to schwalbe tires where you can work it only with your hands
Bullshit. That's a bit insulting really. There's an issue with (maybe just some) these tyres and rims. The fact you've made a video is an admission of that, so why show an example that bares no resemblance to many peoples experience. I've only got the one bike (first generation Transmitter) so I can only speak about that but the taking the tyres off/putting them on is an absolute bitch and nothing like the video. Maybe its just my rims but even the guy in the LBS dislocated his finger trying to convert them to tubeless. I love the bike so I've accepted the tyres but please don't patronise me.
Amen to this. My exceptionally experienced (and burly!) bf has been trying to do get these things off for several hours now, using the method shown in this video and every other thing possible. Finally we got them off by squeezing close to the rim with TWO enormous channel locks. What was I supposed to do if I had a flat with this? This is simply not a reasonable design.
Absolute genius. Spent an hour trying everything known to man to get the tyre off. Took 20 seconds to get off when I stood on it.
Woah you make it look so easy!! I have 27+ WTB Bridger's on Sonder Nova wheels and they are STUCK! I hope over time they might loosen up a bit.

was having a mare! foot trick worked. Thanks

Nice one for the tip bro
This tyre and rim combo combined with a flat is just a royal pain in the backside to sort out no way as easy as this video shows.
Thanks a lot

Absolute mission trying to do this and mine are only 2.8! Those 3.0 must be beast!

What inner tubes to use for 26 inch 3.0 tyres? Normal simple rim
26 inch 3.0 tubes 🤦♂️😂
Does anyone know the internal width of these wheels

Didnt work, not sure I am able to do that on my own
This guy must be Gandalf or something because I’ve been trying that for an hour or so and it doesn’t work
Alpkit rims are total trash when it comes to changing tubes or tires

Yea I know it’s an absolute ball ache changing an inner tube. It’s a design flaw and Alkpit have constantly ignored my complaint
