Such a peaceful message. It’s interesting. I have a 15 year old and it’s been a challenging few weeks. He’s very stubborn. ( I admit. He gets it from me) and I was talking to my mom. She said that I need to find the wonder in these years. I have been intentional about this and it has really helped. I know that these years will go fast. My Dad used to say the days are long. The years are short. I am not waiting for wonder to find me. I am finding wonder in so many things. It helps. ❤

Hi, you told your chickens you didn’t have anything they could eat, but you might be interested to know, chickens LOVE banana peels! As long as they are organic, they’re a good source of fiber, potassium and antioxidants for them. Mine gobble them down like candy.

I try to be 'in tune' with wonder, daily. I LOOK for it. when something is intentionally on your radar, you see it everywhere. that is why those who constantly have evil on their minds, see it everywhere. So it works in both directions. That is not to say to not be somewhat on guard, but you should be looking for the marvelous, the wondrous, the miraculous....every single moment! We recently suffered TORNADOS!!! In CNY. It is so rare & a few of our communities have much damage (only 1 loss of life, fortunately). Don't we have our women's group mtg 2 days after & the predetermined topic was "Love Thy Neighbor"?!? I used your video with Scott about the 80/20, 20/80 rule of neighbor vs. friend, & we watched it during our mtg. And don't we have neighbors that need our help now? Amazing. Wondrous. It put our group right on the path of helping, donation, reaching out to show love to our neighbors. Now, we didn't know that a tornado was going to hit that town where our mtg is held! Isn't God wonderful? That is the stuff we are supposed to be on the lookout for, in my opinion.
(BTW - one lady in our group thought you guys 'were nuts'🤣Her words, not mine. But she is a baby boomer that thought the way you live, you being home, serving your husband, is not how anyone lives I think. I was afraid to ask her in front of everyone why she thought you guys were 'nuts' because I didn't really want to embarrass her or myself & I was trying to keep us on topic - love thy neighbor. This group is difficult for me to run. I am the youngest member, at 43, & the ONLY one who is a homemaker. Most are career women. I am the only rural one, the rest are suburbanites. I have an inkling that I am the only conservative one. I am always a square peg everywhere I go. My daughter came with me to the mtg & she & I had a good laugh on the way home. She intuited that the lady would probably think I was 'nuts', too, if she had a true picture of what my life is like. I don't know. You guys sound totally sane to me & my friends🤷)
What a welcome refreshment! As you said, this past weekend was emotionally very tiring. So, when i saw this video, I made some popcorn, grabbed a drink, and enjoyed! What a blessing to refocus on welcoming God into my quiet time w him, ie: I am stealing your 2 cups of tea idea...and watching for his blessings. The butterflies are beautiful! Thank you for reminding me to watch for and cultivate delight in each day!

I absolutely love the whole butterfly setup and they were so beautiful. I think I’d like to get one of those for my granddaughter (maybe me too). I’ve been thinking about making some muffins and I’m wondering if you followed a recipe or if you do it enough that you don’t need one anymore? Oh she would love it- and you! Here is the recipe I followed and I just substituted the flour for fresh milled soft wheat berries and the sugar for maple syrup. It turned out great!

Are the spicebush swallowtail chrysalises from your fennel?
Yes! They were little caterpillars on our fennel and I didn't want all the birds in our garden to eat them, so I cut the fennel and put it in cups of water in the little tent. So we got to see their whole process which was so fun
Excellent! I did it with a monarch caterpillar last summer from my milkweed. If you don’t already grow that you should add that to your garden. I always enjoy your videos thanks for sharing!
