Today, we are taking a look at the disappointing DC Multiverse Batman vs Hush multipack by McFarlane Toys. We are also looking at a few head swaps.

and suddenly, all my visions of loving this batman figure and trying to trick myself into buying this two pack suddenly faded away. wow
This Batman sculpt looks EXACTLY like Batman drawn by Jim Lee. Even more accurate than Mafex’s take on Hush Batman. I’m serious. It’s such a bummer with those elbows and I wish this Batman is the single release.

I easily cancelled my preorder after seeing how half of these are defected with the bad/extra paint and the others aren’t. He’s had the license for 2 years and there are more Batman’s than any JL member and villain combined..he doesn’t seem to care to diversify the selection, for every Wonder Woman or Green Lantern, there’s 10 Batman..
Batman has kind of a Danny Devito Penguin "inky mouth" going on here.🤣

Not sure how Todd could drop the ball so hard on this. I almost feel it was done intentionally similar to the boots with the Year 2. If that was perfect, there'd be no need to ever buy another classic light blue Batman ever again.
That's the Mcfarlane toys motto...always leave the customer wanting more...but never in a good way lol
The best is the mafex hush Batman. Sure it’s pricey but you’ll never need another Batman after getting the mafex.
He already oversaturated the market with his Batman figures. His line is hit or miss. He’s basically just throwing spaghetti on the wall and seeing what sticks

Going back now to this video a year later, and a new hush Batman in black with the mouth closed just got pre ordered, and now I can’t wait to do the head swap with the 3J Batman myself. Thanks 5POA! You have good rewatchability 🙏🏽
Honestly after this and Spider Criminal's video I'm losing all faith in Mcfarlane. The poor quality control, no accessories, barely and paint, odd proportions, bad range, terrible character selection since Todd admitted he just picked characters because he thought they looked cool, which explains a serious lot.
I haven't made the time to watch that video yet, so I can't speak to it, but the frustrations are definitely understandable and a lot of those criticisms are absolutely valid.
I swear to God for as cool as McFarlane Toys can be, they have always specialized in spitting in the customer's face; always coming close to greatness but making sure to come up just short of giving buyers what they want. I remember being a kid and buying that very 1st wave of Spawn figures, and being baffled by the articulation decisions. 30 yrs later, they still baffle me.
I can forgive his very first wave of figures; he was learning. And I am afraid what he learned is if you always leave them wanting, you can sell it to them again.

Trench coat makes hush look extremely plain. Hides all the details of his costume... that would go on the body he doesn't have? Why!
My guess? It's cheaper to make the whole body a coat with no paint than to sculpt a proper body with painted details and a coat over it, and then make another one in a few months done right as an "apology" so we buy the same character again.
They shipped out in the West the first batch which has the incorrect elbow color, the newer batch which are corrected are the ones released here in Asia

I personally really like this set besides the faults.. two figures I’ve really wanted them to make for quite sometime. Batman looked a little bit better with a touch of paint
I love how honest you were here, I saw this 2-pack and didn't like it at all. It seems their individual releases worked a lot better but still, don't like Hush doesn't have a real body either haha nice one!

Question, 11:41 does the head stay good and is it easy to pop on? I think it looks great but im brand new to mcfarlane and love the way it looks.
Yes. To remove them, you have to heat them up either with a hair dryer or hot water.

Entire BatFarlane line is a joke! DCUC line sculpted by the 4 Horsemen will always be the standard bearer of DC comic based action figures!
I unfortunately slept on that line when it first came out. I am slowly filling out the ones I wanted. I didn't realize at the time just how good we had it.

The combination of Batman's feet, the Quentin Tarantino reference and the "FAP" Onomatopoeia line up *way* too well.
Boy I wish I could take credit for doing all that on purpose, but alas lol sometimes the stars just align ha great catch!

My Batman's fore arm joints painted same as his suit it. Not the black in the fore arm joints I'm seeing in this review. Maybe packs that came to Australia kinks were taken out. Mine painted just fine or the way it should be.

Do you not like the original Nightwing figure that came out? I personally love the New 52 2pk version
When it came out, I was happy with my DC Essentials version and didn't pick it up, so I never really had a chance to form a proper opinion of it. Now, the after market prices for both it and the 2-Pack (which I REALLY wish I had been able to get for Red Hood) are a bit out of reach. I would love to get it and do a Versus comparing and contrasting it to the new Gotham Knights version.
I don't understand what the big deal is. Why is it such a big deal? Repaint it if you don't like it. I officially like the paint job starting now. They get all 5 points.
If you are happy with it, I'm glad! There is a lot to love with these figures, but there are also some concerning and obvious cost cutting measures (covering Hush in a coat instead of going with a design that would requires more pieces and paint apps) and especially Batman's elbows. Consider just how wonderfully comic book accurate the Rebirth Batman is, or how awesome Three Jokers is. As a reviewer, this feels beneath the high level of quality I expect of McFarlane Toys, and I feel a responsible to talk about it. Not only to alert other fans, but also in the hopes that the word spreads to McFarlane Toys so that they respond to our concerns and keep creating products of the standards we have come to appreciate. I hope that helps explain where I am coming from. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I know for certain I preordered the Renew Your Vows 2 pack, but I am pretty sure I preordered both. So yeah, def planning on those.

When this two pack came out and I saw Batman , I was like omg the perfect Batman, IF he had a normal closed mouth face! Why did they have to mess up the perfect style of batman with giving him that face sculpt ?! So bad !

Living in Australia I was lucky enough to get the corrected version of the two pack with the properly painted elbows, I’m happy with it but can say would like a neutral expression
Glad you were able to get an improved one! Keep an eye out for a video I am making on customizing him. I have a head suggestion that might help.
You could probably remove the plastic blister with some steam under it, like opening an envelope without messing it up so can reseal it. Then the background can be used still.
That's a good idea. Too late for this set sadly, but I will try it with another figure and see how it goes for future reference.
I was really going to buy this two pack, so good I didnt and insted I vought the gray and blue batman and now I will buy the individual hush.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the toy photography for their cards has gotten super lazy. the new grifter figure also has the same lazy card art. and yeah, they do all these great promo shots but put a lame static pose shot on the collector card.
I will say, McFarlane Toys at least does listen to criticism. They don't always follow it (side eye is a good example), but improvements to things like the wrist and ankle balls gives me hope that as long as we make our frustrations heard, there is a hope for improvement.
@@5POAFigureReviews the sculpted wrists and ankles do look better but it feels like the normal joints function a bit better. but it is a step in the right direction, and yeah, I hate that side eye thing. now if they could only get WB to get rid of that insane "no guns" rule, it's turned so many potentially great figures into mediocre ones just by taking away their proper weapons.
Really been wanting this 2 pack you just pointed out so many flaws definitely not picking this one up hope to see single versions of the characters w the fixes
Single Hush already available. He has a closed mouth, purple gloves, and knives. Single blue Batman just announced at NYCC, but don't know if it's fixed yet.

I’m disappointed by the joints and the head. I do want to grab this to use for a bit of pop and swap but I’m going to wait for some deals or sales to stretch my dollar.
I have a second video coming on this regarding kitbashing and customizing this Batman. Keep your eyes peeled. I figured out a way to fix this that is really special.

Clearly they were looking to make Hush as cheaply as possibly. I am frankly surprised we got a wash in the bandages.

man, i'm disappointed. i wanted to get the hush figure and just cut the coat open. but now i see that i can't do that either. bummer.
I am working on ideas for an alternate solution. May have another customizing video soon.

Probably a factory era for Bats. Still good cos of use of that year 2 Bats sculpt plus points on boots. Hush with trench is good. Not really bothered If I can display his costume. Definitely a pick up. Jolly good review matey.
Thanks as always. Regarding Batman, if you look at the solicitation pics, it was like that from the beginning. They may have changed later batches based on complaints, but this was definitely their intention. I assume because is was cheaper to cast both pieces in black than to paint the black on the gray or use to separate arm pieces and glue them.

The Batman was also a perfect figure, but the elbows completely messed him up
See. This is the stuff I come for. I spent like. 20 bucks at game stop on a Broly (The one from the new mov8e) and with his backstory being so shitty I wanted hi. To hang out with like. Deku and sora. But his leg articulation doesn't allow for him to do that comfortably. Never would have bought him if I'd known that, ya know? But rev8ews didn't mention that about him. It was very frustrating

This isn't a QC issue. Looking at the original solicitation pictures, this is how he was marketed. This is exactly how they wanted him to be from the get-to.
