twee the awkward pickle I disagree, I think it fits his voice perfectly, most of the songs sound great, and he just started with his solo stuff, so he hasn't really had time to decide what he wants to do with the music.
well, the thing is black parade was very popular because loads of people thought that was their last album but then danger days were born. so many people thought that black parade was the final mcr album so they wanted to really hang on to that. also because welcome to the black parade is their most famous song, even though it's not a lot of people's person favorite it is their most platinum song.
Both albums are amazing start to finish Black parade is more polished and balanced This is an emotional roller coaster of depression drugs and sadness and I love it
I was still obsessing over their first two albums as a teen when Black Parade came out. Sitting there watching Fuse and singing along with their old stuff and then everyone else is singing Black Parade (which I had no clue was them at the time because I didn't have internet and depended on FUSE and my friends for my music). I didn't get into Black Parade until, like, 4 years ago when I was out of college. I'm sorta stuck in the 2003-2008 zone of music: Older MCR, AFI, The Used, P!ATD, etc.
I love how very few people even know what this song's about. There's a reason they almost never played it live. I don't think a lot of their fans could take it.
agneta123 From my understanding, it's about a crazy love-struck man who strangles a woman to death, while imagining her as his bride in a wedding dress. He then showers her corpse with rose pedals and rice grains, like in a wedding. Hides her corpse in a well and routinely visits it to imagine she's his wife. He eventually then drinks a bunch of cheap champagne, kerosene, and her wedding ring before drowning himself in the well with her.
John NoNameGibbon I was trying to figure out the "deeper meaning" behind the lyrics of the song because I thought they were too absurd and dark to be taken literally. Guess I was wrong... ಠnಠ
Kirukitsu I like songs like that, though. Yes, it's ugly, but it's kind of reminiscent of Morrissey's Jack the Ripper. It's crazy, but sort of touching, I guess. Does it work as a metaphor? I'm not sure. It could be one in the sense of The Misfits metaphor for findin' a bitch you like and killing her (winning her over). It's not cool to just say it, so they dress it under something ugly. It sort of starts feeling that way when he says "these hands, stained red, from the times that I've killed you and then", which suggest it might not be literal. Also, I just love songs that sound romantic from afar, only to actually be completely bat-shit crazy when closely examined. Sort of like Stings's Every Breath You Take (it's a stalker's song). I'm sure many fangirl's of theirs thought this was an angsty love ballad when they didn't know the lyrics. And for some reason that pleases my ugly little heart.
John NoNameGibbon Oh, one of my favorite songs is really, _really_ dark but oh-so damn catchy (it's foreign so I'm not bothering with names 'cause I forgot it). But I guess this song makes more sense when taken literally. It hurts my head trying to figure out what "the real meaning behind it" is.

The best years of the My Chem reign hands down was Bullets & Revenge... But that in no way means I hate or dislike any of ther stuff after.. In fact I love it, but let's face it "Revenge" was what put them on the map and launched their careers... But thinking about them then and knowing that they are not together now... My heart just withers and dies... The sound of shattered hearts sounds like screaming broken glass... Dreams gone like a cloud of smoke... Vampires may never hurt us, but My Chem did, with them gone so now is the light behind my eyes, I don't need to fake my death... It happened when they broke up... Guess they really did give us some famous last words... But without them is how I disappear...
"I never thought it'd be this way Just me and you, we're here alone And if you stay, all I'm asking for is A thousand bodies piled up ....." Is this about a man who made a deal with Satan to revive his lover from death by killing 1000 evil people? I have read somewhere that MCR wrote songs about that.
It's about a crazy lover who kills his wife , lives her in a well , and acts like they are getting married everyday , finally he takes suicide next to her
some people say it's related to Demolition Lovers but idk- In my opinion it's about a guy who has undying love for a girl but the girl doesn't return it so he tries to impress her by killing off "competition" and he gets so fed up and kills her. He becomes schizophrenic and hallucinates that the girl is telling him to kill more people, and he relives/hallucinates himself killing her over and over again "The times I have killed you". By the end he realizes he's going insane and commits suicide thinking he'll prove himself to her. My opinion though, you can interpret it the way you want.
I think of it of him killing women in wedding gowns everyday because he misses his first lady that he killed, so he goes around and kidnaps the women on their wedding day, and takes them and kills them, pretends it's his first love, marries her, dumps the body down the well, and he does it over again, until he couldn't do it anymore, then kills himself with the last one. cx
This is super old to reply to, but anyway...I think that Revenge, the whole thing, was supposed to be a story about a couple who got murdered at their wedding (hence the blood-covered kids on the cover) and the woman was sent to heaven and the man to hell. The dude makes a deal with the devil, who says if the man's ghost can kill a thousand men and bring their souls back to hell, he can see his girl again. Some of the songs fit really well into the theme, like, "You Know What They Do to Guys like Us in Prison," could definitely be about hell, and "I Never Told You What I Do for a Living," (I think) it says something about "two shots to the back of the head." Others don't, imo. But I think they came up with that idea here and revisited it for Revenge. :3

These hands, stained red, from the times that I've killed you and then, we can wash down this engagement ring with poison and kerosene. We'll laugh as we die, and we'll celebrate the end of things with cheap champagne~
I originally didn’t care for this song that much, but lately I’ve just been more and more invested in it even though I’ve been an MCR fan for five years at this point.
I remember a long long time ago my friend and I had a conversation about who was the best band ever... I said My Chemical Romance, he disagreed so I threw a book at his face and broke his nose. Oops, I guess MCR always wins :D
I liked MCR so much back when I was 16, I became obsessed with them, after their hiatus I stopped listening to them and moved to different bands and music, and frankly I didn't like the last album but god, how much I miss having such a huge love for a band, I collected everything of them and bought everything from them too! I haven't felt the same way since then, so yeah, I keep them in my heart and every now and then come back and listen to their old albums which were and still are GREAT!
Without a sound I took her down And dressed in red and blue I squeezed Imaginary wedding gown That you can't wear in front of me A kiss goodbye Your twisted shell As rice grains and roses fall at your feet Let's say goodbye, the hundredth time And then tomorrow we'll do it again Tomorrow we'll do it again I dragged her down I put her out And back there I left her where no one could see And lifeless cold into this well I stared as this moment was held for me A kiss goodbye Your twisted shell As rice grains and roses fall at your feet Let's say goodbye, the hundredth time And then tomorrow we'll do it again I never thought it'd be this way Just me and you, we're here alone And if you stay, all I'm asking for is A thousand bodies piled up I never thought would be enough To show you just what I've been thinking And I'll keep on making more Just to prove that I adore Every inch of sanity All I'm asking for is All I'm asking for is Come on! These hands stained red From the times that I've killed you and then We can wash down this engagement ring With poison and kerosene We'll laugh as we die And we'll celebrate the end of things With cheap champagne Without, without a sound Without, without a sound And I wish you away Without a sound And I wish you away Without a sound Without a sound And I wish you away Without a sound Without a sound And I wish you away Without a sound Without a sound And I wish you away
I still like to indulge in MCR. I started listening to them in Freshman year and I still love them to this day. Bullets is still my favorite album and this song imo is the best song off that album. Absolutely beautiful song.
+Stephen David its okay im right here with you dying inside bc MCR meant so much to me even though they broke up they still mean the absolute world to me
obviously different circumstances than what the lyrics are actually saying but “imaginary wedding gown, that you cant wear in front of me” hits me so hard because there are so many days i think of seeing my ex walking down the aisle to marry me. unfortunately a sight ill never be able to see.
Drowning lessons is talking about the Demolition Lovers in Three Cheers for sweet revenge it's saying how the lover died and he will Remember her... This song is proved to be curesd but only to the band not us The drums break and amps they only played this once or twice the thing is they did like the song but they don't like playing live and anthor reson is that the lead singer thought it was to personal he talks about Drowning Lessons at Reddit ama a legendary moment if you saw it live (Please say if I said anything wrong)
I found put what it is about it is about man(Gerard) who was engaged to a woman hat had broke up with him and got engaged to some one else he loved her touch that he could let her go so he kills other women pretending that they was her so one day she decides she missed the man(gerard) and goes back to him and he tells her what he has been doing (killing women) so she loves how he has been killing for her and that he loves her so much so he keeps killing for her and then they think it isn't going right so they decided one of them should wash down the engagement ring with poison and karosen (drink it) but they both die from something don't know what of but it was purposely and they laugh as they die because they think they're is nothing to be sad of since they are going to be together. check it out on Google sight called song meanings

no, that was revenges plotline
Have people forgotten this song? Cuz nobody has said that MCR IS BACK
Oh god i think so the last comments were like three or four years ago 😭
MCR IS BACK
why did they split. the death of them was like the death of my soul
They're back! Look at their channel! NOT A DRILL
+Project EveryThing I saw I'm so fucking pumped that's all I've been thinking about today. I'm so Happy. I've been depressed lately and started cutting again but this makes me sooooooo much better

Drowning (in your own tears) lessons
the thing i love about mcr is that lyric videos can be shit quality, but i dont give a fuck bc its mcr so the low quality only adds to the mood lol
2:28 DRINK DOWN THAT GIN AND KEROSEEEEENEEEEE
Don't you mean champagne and gasoline?
+Eliza LR I meant FOB not P!ATD hehe.

+leafycat nice refreshing clorox.. ahhh.. hits the spot. 😂
God, leafycat you are everything wrong with this world.
These hands, stained red, from the times that I've killed you and then, we can wash down this engagement ring with poison and kerosene. We'll laugh as we die, and we'll celebrate the end of things with cheap champagne~
I literally read that comment as those lines came on... 😂
sAME
Same haha
Champagne, cocaine, gasoline
I originally didn’t care for this song that much, but lately I’ve just been more and more invested in it even though I’ve been an MCR fan for five years at this point.
I'm relistening to my "My Favorite Songs" playlist for nostalgic purpose. Still no regrets for the love I have for this band!
I remember a long long time ago my friend and I had a conversation about who was the best band ever... I said My Chemical Romance, he disagreed so I threw a book at his face and broke his nose. Oops, I guess MCR always wins :D
You sound like a bitch
robert robadillidis Wow, I didn't mean to break his nose! It's been almost ten years and we are still good friends. I'm not bitchy at all.
i doubt you did that noob
ahahahahahahahah #facebook ;D
ItsZombeh Why would I make that up? And how am I a noob? I'm 22 years old.
i'm so in love with this song !!
I listened to this in 2005 and 2019...still the same feeling.
This song gives all the feels.. it's so good it hurts.
Top 3 fav MCR songs. Just raw passion.
Without a sound I took her down
And dressed in red and blue I squeezed
Imaginary wedding gown
That you can't wear in front of me
A kiss goodbye
Your twisted shell
As rice grains and roses fall at your feet
Let's say goodbye, the hundredth time
And then tomorrow we'll do it again
Tomorrow we'll do it again
I dragged her down I put her out
And back there I left her where no one could see
And lifeless cold into this well
I stared as this moment was held for me
A kiss goodbye
Your twisted shell
As rice grains and roses fall at your feet
Let's say goodbye, the hundredth time
And then tomorrow we'll do it again
I never thought it'd be this way
Just me and you, we're here alone
And if you stay, all I'm asking for is
A thousand bodies piled up
I never thought would be enough
To show you just what I've been thinking
And I'll keep on making more
Just to prove that I adore
Every inch of sanity
All I'm asking for is
All I'm asking for is
Come on!
These hands stained red
From the times that I've killed you and then
We can wash down this engagement ring
With poison and kerosene
We'll laugh as we die
And we'll celebrate the end of things
With cheap champagne
Without, without a sound
Without, without a sound
And I wish you away
Without a sound
And I wish you away
Without a sound
Without a sound
And I wish you away
Without a sound
Without a sound
And I wish you away
Without a sound
Without a sound
And I wish you away
I still like to indulge in MCR. I started listening to them in Freshman year and I still love them to this day. Bullets is still my favorite album and this song imo is the best song off that album. Absolutely beautiful song.

Definitely not
+Stephen David its okay im right here with you dying inside bc MCR meant so much to me even though they broke up they still mean the absolute world to me
+Stephen David still here as well
Would love to hear that outro as an intro in another song.
obviously different circumstances than what the lyrics are actually saying but “imaginary wedding gown, that you cant wear in front of me” hits me so hard because there are so many days i think of seeing my ex walking down the aisle to marry me. unfortunately a sight ill never be able to see.
Ten years later.... I'm still in love
2022 and I still love this song
Molly Cooper that’s...That’s so fucked up
I really like the guitar on this
My favorite song at the moment. MCR never dies!

one of the best mcr songs, the lyrics are so good and haunting and this riff is so catchy, i love it
wish they played this one live more, too bad they were paranoid and thought it was cursed.
A bunch of bad things happened whenever they played it i don't blame them even tho this is one of my faves
Feel like I'm the only one here in mid 2021 :O
I love this song so much! Especially the instrumental beginning and ending; they were awesome!
Still lovin this one... I miss them...
WHY IS MCR SO GOOD LIKE WHAT
This reminds me of when my parents broke up.. I guess it's because
Let's say goodbye for the 100th time, then tomorrow we'll do it again... :(
I love painting to music I love, especially loud music with great beats!!!
I thought it said, "These pants stain red" because I wasn't paying attention and I was like wtf Gerard you're a guy. You don't have a period. Then I realised he said "hands" not "pants". Lol wtf is wrong with me.
🙄
NO!!! I don't know you, but if you are here, you are amazing. I can already tell that you have good tastes in music. Live! And remember, there is always someone who loves you.
I started watching this and woke up 3 minutes later on the floor wt this video still playing on repeat..... Stunning...
this album sounds so raw yet so delectable
They haven't broken my heart. We still have the music, It's not like all their music is gone forever just because they broke up. :)
