This song is about Gerard's ex-girlfriend (or close friend) who was abused by her husband and later killed herself and now he misses her. Probably one of the most emotional songs on the whole album.

No the song isn't from the POV of Gerard it's about the man on the cover the album is about a man and a woman who were in love but they were killed in a gunfight the devil lied to the man and said your loved one is still alive I'll give you one more chance if you bring me the souls of.a 1000 evil men but of course if you listen to the song the jetset life is going to kill you the song ends in the man being double crossed by the devil and he dies and in his final moments he realizes that he will never see her again the song lyrics are about the deal with the devil is taking a toal in his morality
Also the to the end song is about a massacre at a wedding by the guy trying to be reunited with his love
Honestly this is the song that got me hooked. I started liking My Chemical Romance because my crush did, and I wanted him to notice me. So I listened to Helena. When I heard his voice it felt like an angel was singing to me, so I kept putting on more songs. Then I started memorizing the lyrics, and then members names. I would listen to them on the bus every day. Specifically Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. So I was listening to this song and when I heard "Singing songs that make you slit your wrist. It isn't that much fun staring down a loaded gun." And it caught me off guard. And then he said "Did you get what you deserve?" And I almost started crying on the bus. I used to be really really suicidal and listening to this song made me realise that with this band I could have something to relate to, and something to let my feelings out with. Whenever I listened to them, I felt safe. The music would comfort me. And song after song I got more hooked, and more happy. And yes, occasionally I think about commuting suicide, but I know I won't try again. Because I could be afraid of life and end it, or just cry and listen to them. Honestly, it's true what they said. You only hear the music when your heart begins to break.

I like the spiteful, vindictive lyrics. The way he sings the lyrics that fluctuates in different emotions. Quite a bit I get from the lyrics. Anger, vindictiveness, regret, strength, missing someone, hating them, hating that you miss them, hating that you let them in, glad that you let them in....though I'm not an MCR fan, I like a few songs by them and now...like a new song. I like this song.

A friend of mine lead me to find My Chemical Romance. He told me about Nirvana and Metallica which I absolutely love, but My Chemical Romance just stops me right in my tracks. Their music is so relatibale for a person like me. From the lyrics to the slightest strum of the guitar it all is so appealing. I used to listen to Rap and Hip Hop, thanks to my friend I fould the most amazing band ever. But never would I think that I would be treated so differently just for the type of music I listen to. Im reffered as "emo" and as I walk though the halls I hear "oh I forgot she changed". The friend of mine who lead me to My Chemical Romance told me that I shouldn't listen to them because of the crowd it draws. But if people want to put titles on me and treat me differently let them. This song, Cemetary Drive really got to me. There has been events in my life that effect me more than atteneded to. But now I've realized not to care and to listen to whatever music I want, to BE MYSELF. I could care about what people have to say. If anyone is going through what I've been through don't change. BE YOURSELF, don't let anyone change who you really are. Remember that no matter what they say YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Express that.

People should stop with the "this is the perfect emo song" and "i love songs about suicide" comments, bc this song is really personal song to gerard and i dont think you should be using it as a song that romanticizes suicide and self harming, because its much more than that
