When they say, "You can't imagine the movie without Peter." That is something you can take to the bank since every adaptation without him has fallen flat.
6:03 what a phenomenal scene! Having Robo say "Dead or alive you're coming with me" without him realizing where that came from and then to see the flash of surprise and recognition from Emilio realizing who Robo was. Amazing
Looking back now 30 years after the original RoboCop, I appreciate even more how Peter Weller was so superb in this role. I only recently learned how much preparation he put into perfecting his movements in the cyborg suit by studying mime and with his mime coach on the set. That is a true artist.
I swear the hardcore fans love Weller in this role so much I think if they put him back in the suit and made a sequel today you'd have an entire theatre burst into tears on his entrance.
The work and amount of effort and pain that Peter take was really amazing... He really suffered 1000x times more than all the others actors. His patience and dedication mentally and physically was unbelievable no one could do it
One of my fave films of all time. I watched the movie two days ago for the first time in about 20yrs and really noticed the quality of Weller's performance. So hearing about all the work behind it makes so much sense. Im so glad he's proud of the film. It's amazing!!
Kind of makes u appreciate the movie. Knowing that making it was not as easy as standing on a stage and reciting lines. Peter Weller actually wore a suit that weighed probably more than he did. Thank U Peter Weller for the pop culture hero of my childhood❤️
Robocop was a GOAT-level performance from Weller. A work of art. He went the extra mile to find a great instructor for the movement. He studied, learned, analyzed, tweaked and rehearsed until it was perfect. Few people in general have such attention span for detail. That is what separates the greatest from the rest.
It is astounding how much Weller gave to this character, where a lesser actor would have just said. "Oh it's a guy in a robot costume, clunk clunk bang boom. Gimme my pay cheque."
Many directors has said it....if you can just get the film cast right, 95% of your problems are solved before you even start shooting. Everyone brought their A games to this film, and it shows.
Daaaamn his iconic voice "Thank You for Your corporation" 😍😅 amazing... Why movie industry not use such chance make another movie with this actor as Robo:( Indiana Jones show how possible do amazing movie with old school actor and amazing results
Peter Weller kicked ass! he was the best ROBOCOP, watched "Evan the terrible" to study exaggerated body movements and body still shots. This is why the later actors who took the role without this preparation STUNK!. Nice job Peter !!!
I loved this movie form the first time I saw it, I managed to get a rental VHS in the UK when I was 11, and the movie was rated 18, oh boy, I found out why lol.. and I could listen to the cast and crew talk about it for hours.
Great video. So many thoughts. I can tell Weller probably had an ego and was pretentious as most actors are. However, the work he put into it was undeniable, although production design, costume, makeup, script, and Verhoven helped out a lot as well. But I greatly admired what he said at the end. His honesty and frankness about movies he’s not proud of. And that this has to be of the ones he certainly is proud of. Humbling, seeing as it’s his career he’s talking about. Honestly though he should have just said this was his proudest. He really hasn’t had many impressive movies. And no shame btw. I have tremendous respect for him.
And that's why he switched gears and became a University professor. Talk about a renaissance man! However you pay your bills and buy your toys. Like Michael Caine, total A list actor, up there with Sean Connery (RIP, God rest his soul) he had no problem appearing in shit if he got a nice paycheck. I would totally do the same if I could.
And for shamelles thanks god failed prime directives and What a horror of actor just an episode not surprises and a stupid and a joke of remake please 😂 the stupid do not have idea how to acts al mmm almost anyone talks abaut that ist so strange why well may cause those haters blinds and 🤕 prefer wacht that kind of craps...but they could betterr 🤐
Ho sentito dire che weller che prima di questo film, stava lavorando un altro film un ragazzo che doveva lavorare con lui si e avvicinato per congratulazioni! Weller lo rimprovera
Many movies even crappy ones require insane amounts of effort that actors must put into making their roles genuine and original. So if you ever see a movie that you think is bad, remember that many of the actors take months of preparation to be able to play their role.
Yeah, after all this time Robocop is top ten best movie out there. Right in line with Die Hard, Event Horizon, Indiana Jones 1,2,3., Ghostbusters 1,2. Peter Weller is Robocop.
His voice and movements make the character iconic
Yes. I understand.
i honestly believe he deserved an oscar for his performance as robocop..watching his arc from being a robot to human was incredible
Patience bloody_outlaw. Afterall, we're only human.
Nomination at least
I agree, I loved this film as a kid.....I wanted to be RoboCop, but when I watched it again as an adult....you realise it's quite a deep film.
Maybe now.but those movies were not appreciated back then
Peter Weller is such an underated actor!!!
He should of won a Academy award. His movements were perfect .
Amazing
RoBoCop (1987)
Is One Of
The Best Movies Around !
And Peter Weller
Is Beautiful In It!
One of my favorite of all times
Looking back now 30 years after the original RoboCop, I appreciate even more how Peter Weller was so superb in this role. I only recently learned how much preparation he put into perfecting his movements in the cyborg suit by studying mime and with his mime coach on the set. That is a true artist.
John NY And he explains the role so well. Very smart man.
I swear the hardcore fans love Weller in this role so much I think if they put him back in the suit and made a sequel today you'd have an entire theatre burst into tears on his entrance.
I would be close to it 🤣
Even tho the remake sucked, it would've been great if he'd played the Old Man or Dick Jones character.
Peter Weller is a beautiful man. Those cheekbones.
I agree. I wish it was more men like him in this generation
Wtf
Siii yes! 😍😍😍
7:35 - Peter can still do the Robo voice. Hes still got it after 30+ years! Amazing.
Peter Weller as Robocop will always be a family to all of us.
I watched Robocop yesterday (my first time). What a handsome man. Good actor, too.
I'm Glad Peter Still Alive To Tell The 80's Babies About His Role In One Of The Most Iconic Movies Of All Time 👊👊👊
Peter's role as RoboCop is so iconic.
What a perfect film, every execution is flawless, so much respect for the production teams and actors for creating beautiful art.
One of the greatest films of all time. Just met Peter Weller over the weekend... what an honor. Got a pic, and he signed a copy of Robocop.
Peter Weller a talented actor and a legend
in my opinion, Peter is the perfect Robocop and the only one LOL...
Im glad he is reprising Robocop in the newest game Rogue City which is out next year
Exactly
Rogue city is out and it's a love letter to the fans.
Damn his voice is completely metallic..
Such a majestic voice he has
The work and amount of effort and pain that Peter take was really amazing... He really suffered 1000x times more than all the others actors.
His patience and dedication mentally and physically was unbelievable no one could do it
Dead or alive, you are coming with me! When Phil Tippet met Peter Weller, too much awesome !
One of my fave films of all time. I watched the movie two days ago for the first time in about 20yrs and really noticed the quality of Weller's performance. So hearing about all the work behind it makes so much sense. Im so glad he's proud of the film. It's amazing!!
He wasn't proud of it for a good minute. Think Shatner/Kirk or Ford/Solo. But yes, he's since embraced. I would suppose like Nimoy/Spock.
Peter Weller is such an artist.
Kind of makes u appreciate the movie. Knowing that making it was not as easy as standing on a stage and reciting lines. Peter Weller actually wore a suit that weighed probably more than he did. Thank U Peter Weller for the pop culture hero of my childhood❤️
You can tell how perfect Weller was because you notice NONE of the techniques he's using, you just see a man whos been made into a machine.

Thank you, Peter and the crew.
even when hear him talk you still get robocop
Robocop is Peter Weller..... seems like he put 100% in.... this is what is missing from movies today.
Peter Weller. Always was, always has been and always will be the best and only RoboCop.
To me the actor playing the role of the villain was amazingly credible
Kurtwood Smith?
@@matthewschwartz6607 Kurtwood Smith played a villain on Star Trek Voyager. It was an episode called 'Year of Hell'.
Superb film and Peter really makes Robocop come alive. I don’t think anyone one else could have done such a great job
Peter Weller is the right person
Poor Peter Weller. He endured so much with that suit.
So brilliant! should have gotten oscar for that peter......
Title should be "Peter Weller *IS* RoboCop"
Peter Weller is the best robocop
Is that kurtwood Smith AKA red Foreman from that 70's show?
Petter congratulation for being part of my childhood forever robocop

Peter is definitely a LEGEND.
Many directors has said it....if you can just get the film cast right, 95% of your problems are solved before you even start shooting. Everyone brought their A games to this film, and it shows.

No Weller, no Robocop.
And no arnold no terminator
Peter Weller is truly one of the living.
Loved peter in The Longmire Tv Series ❤
The five seconds before he punches the auto realtor screen, He gives more depth of character and conveys more emotion than most full movies do now.
Peter Weller is highly intelligent!
Brilliant movie...
such a talent, plays robocop and also goes on to have a number 1 hit single in the UK with "The Changing Man" outstanding!

Peter weller! Kurtwood smith! Miguel ferrier rest in peace. What a movie, what actors. Thank you all who made this masterpiece
Like another commenter said, I believe he deserved an Oscar for his performance as well. But Peter Weller is just an awesome guy in general!
Man when Peter said at 7:45 “Thank you for your cooperation”. He really is Robocop
Who else wants Peter Weller back for Robocop Returns?! I DO!!!
This is fantastic content, thank you.
Kurtwood Smith was a bad dude in that move! good to see him here. one of my favorite movies
Great movie character love the work storytelling
I loved this movie form the first time I saw it, I managed to get a rental VHS in the UK when I was 11, and the movie was rated 18, oh boy, I found out why lol.. and I could listen to the cast and crew talk about it for hours.
you could tell his movements were alot better by robocop 2.
His movements were great in robocop 2. Like perfected and maybe the suit was better engineered too
@@TheFailedmessiah the suit was for R2. Less heavy, better movement. Cooler. R2 has grown on me over the years. Of course it could've been better...
he's amazing, just watch the stuff where he was replaced by other actors and you'll see the difference. the other guys couldn't do it as good as him.
Peter Weller is Robot Hero
Robocop
I’m so hyped for when RoboCop shows up for Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath

saw him in dexter and didn't realize he was the original robocop
8:33 Technically, a machine pistol with semi-auto and tri-burst modes.
Peter Weller is the only true Robocop!
Totally agree..but just my point of wiev sure Robert and Richard eden done it so pretty well whit not Many Cards ... Many haters blinds and 🤕
And for shamelles thanks god failed prime directives and What a horror of actor just an episode not surprises and a stupid and a joke of remake please 😂 the stupid do not have idea how to acts al mmm almost anyone talks abaut that ist so strange why well may cause those haters blinds and 🤕 prefer wacht that kind of craps...but they could betterr 🤐

7:45 iconic lines Robocop.
Me Robocop big fan 💪
Ho sentito dire che weller che prima di questo film, stava lavorando un altro film un ragazzo che doveva lavorare con lui si e avvicinato per congratulazioni! Weller lo rimprovera
Peter Weller👍
Cheers man thanks
Hahaha, Miguel's segment was priceless.
ZyxthePest I know, right. Especially with him and Ronny Cox.
I always love Miguel. He's always seemed like an ass in and out of character.
Still. Seems like a Dick. IF Weller wanted to Stay in character, let him. Seemed like my big brother, he got off on shitting in my Cheerios.
I Have The RoboCop Video Game on The PlayStation 2 and it's an Awesome Game
“I’ll buy that for a dollar”😂😂
When he demonstrated the robocop voice in this video.....
Peter weller great actor and historian..
Peter Weller a true Texan!
I was especting Clarence to say something that red Forman would say

The idea of a police officer being dead and than comes back to life as a machine with no memory of felling his family of his son and wife
Big fan
