I think this is one of the best recordings of any organ ever.

It would be even better if we heard the whole work instead of this weird collection of bits and pieces

I think that it is only on the last few months that I have started to comprehend and appreciate the organ music of Olivier Messiaen. Better late than never. A wonderful performance on a this heroic organ. Please post more.

The worst place to really hear full power of the organ.. is at the conscel. Messiaen works have to be listen to within the full room. Silence... and sound are each important. Listen and learn. This is one of the Master Works. Listen. Love, CVD

I couldn't ask for more! thanks heaps for that, I love Messiaen's organ (and chamber music) just like Bach. it really speaks on a deeper level, truly love it!

What a great work. Messiaen is completely one with the organ.

God is only a glorious and reassuring concept but I admire and sometimes venerate the acts, the writings & songs of the men and women of which he is the inspirer :)

Bravo Wolfgang - I saw this being played at Brangwyn Hall Swansea last week by Huw Tregelles Williams -a lunchtime concert. It was fantastic - and I found this on You Tube. What brilliant playing by you -and as for the final run of dischordant chords to the finish - breathtaking , I think the audience were almost stunned into silence as the final chord was held.

Very good. Riotous applause after so many works, especially music like this, is vulgar. Better = silence!!

Bravo, c'est à mon très humble avis, l'approche la meilleure de l'œuvre de O Messiaen les critères sont : Registration et acoustique et finalement l'enregistrement . Le tout ici est particulièrement réussi .....

Does anyone know why this version sounds a major second lower than any other recordings that you find of this piece? I love this particular recording, it sounds softer and just amazing.. too bad it's only uploaded in parts, would love to hear the full thing of this recording!

Was wollen Sie? Zeit einsparen bei einem zeitlosen Werk? La Nativité du Seigneur eignet sich nicht als Trailer.

I think that Messiaen's Music is at least 200 years forward. That's why he's still not understood at all. Every note is a world. I'm not fond of strong music but I think that God, after Bach, chose Him (and many many many many Others before him and after Bach) to speak to us. So: let's prepare our ears to listen!!!!!!

The camera pointed at the ceiling would have been much better used to show us the organist's footwork.

and such beautiful playing, being subjected to this!

@fabrizio celli: if you really believe this: I suggest you might carry on investigating Karlheinz Stockhausen, as he is in my belief just the same "chosen by God to speak to the world". Find pieces like MICHAELION, EVAs ZAUBER, UNSICHTBARE CHÖRE, STERNKLANG, STRAHLEN etc. here on youtube :)
