As a LEO my self this guy is a LEO. He has been at a few LEO only events I know about in Texas. Some of the accessories he has on is overkill and highly doubt his agency would approve of it. The steel ammo looks to be for show. It is just a video on a belt setup. I know my agency do not care on belt set up until IA wants to do a inspection. Keep doing your thing 💯 and giving out information👏🏾🤝🏾✊🏾

So I’m going to try and be as respectful as I can on this because you very well be new to patrol work and I’m in the business of trying to educate over shaming.
    1. That’s a ronin belt. Not safelife. The carrier very well may be a safelife but it doesn’t look like there are panels in it and your attachment is barely hanging on on your support side.
    2. I have no idea how you ride in a car with an extended magazine in the gun. That’s asking for issues in the event you need to draw from a seated position.
    3. An exposed bladed option on the strong side is asking for trouble if you get in a ground fight.
    4. I am concerned about the lack of comms and medical on your duty set up. Everyone should carry medical at all times. And your radio is your life line.
    5. Running the dual mag pouch up top isn’t necessarily bad, I wouldn’t do it, but it’s on your strong side. Maybe consider moving that over.
    6. Your taser should be accessible weak hand. You don’t want to draw the wrong option under duress. It doesn’t matter how trained anyone is, it’s gross motor skill biomechanics. Also, it appears your mags hinder the taser draw.
    7. Don’t hit anyone with a mag lite with a glass break tip. Consider a rounded edge baton that doesn’t run the same risk of seriously hurting a suspect.
I hope this helps. I’ve been a cop 8 years and field training for 2 on top of my special teams. It’s a delicate science to the set up. Please consider taking this advice and others from this comment section into consideration.

I would add that a much more secure firearm holster is needed and add a Leatherman type multi tool as well. Also, I would carry a second flashlight. You do not need to carry medical first aid kits or trama kits. You leave that crap in the squad. Your TQ should not be on your duty belt as well. It should be in your vest pocket with your NORCAM. I got on our city police DEPT. IN 1995 BEFORE YOU KIDS WERE EVEN BORN! 25 YEARS LATET I AM A ARMOR, AND FTO. We used Smith and Wesson 4506 in 45 cal. Then we went to Sig Sauer P220 in 45 ACP. In 2015, we went to Sig Sauer P320 in 45 ACP. Back then, we used the b PR-24, mace, and then pepper spray in 1995. Hand radios. Lab tops in squads. Radar guns. We used mag lights until the stinger came out! Then, in 1995, we went to ASP BATONS. We use the PR-24 for crowd control and riots and pick terse. Our cuffs were Smith and Wesson hinged 300 and chain 100. Nothing else was allowed. Some old timers carried the old black jack, and Colt snub noes 38 police special 6 inch to on duty! You kids have all the good stuff. Our SWAT TEAM used Vietnam Era Allis belts and pouches. Gas mask straight out of the horror movies. The fly.

Yea no way he's on the job, you can't run a competition trigger on your duty gun, there's definitely no way a department would allow steel case FMJ 5.56!!! Running a blade strong side, behind your gun (and like you said exposed!) is a bad idea (tactically speaking) He just feels all types of wrong!

    • @PTRRanger951
      @PTRRanger951 Před rokem

@@mccoybyz1099 valid points. However most departments do not regulate the type of trigger or where a blade can be. Only large departments do. Smaller one do not. Same with the gear. Some departments have nothing that says what the gear must be or even if it matches. Smaller some do not care because they are not issuing it. Whatever the officer can afford to buy is what they carry. He looks all type of wrong yes, but doesn’t mean it is.
I also carry knives. Yes more than one. Strong side. Reason is, it’s a lot harder for me to try to stab them if they are trying to get my gun with my support hand. You also have more control of any knife when it with your strong hand. I carry knives on both sides. It’s a tool and a last resort option. But I can draw it and sweep down in less motions on someone standing on my strong side trying to get my duty weapon.
There are thousands of officers that carry fixed blade knives and AR mags on their belt. Most carry the fixed blade on their weapon side or behind mag pouches since it’s easier to use.

    Criticisms:
    - Your plate carrier doesn't have plates. You also have on it a random Surefire Stiletto flashlight and a double decker pistol/rifle mag carrier with no mags.
    - Your belt is a Ronin Tactics Shuto belt. That's objectively a high quality belt, but that is not standard issue for any police department, period.
    - Your pistol mag carriers are two single G Code Scorpions, not even one double carrier. Because of this, there's a lot of lateral play when you touch them. There's no way any department would allow extended pistol mags.
    - Your handcuff carriers are old leather and don't retain the cuffs well. Your front cuff carrier isn't properly retained on the belt - it moves laterally when you pull your cuffs. Not secure at all. The S&W cuffs are great, the Asps are questionable. If you prefer the Asps, then why wouldn't they be easier to access on your belt?
    - You completely skip over your carabiner key holder.
    - Your holster is a Safariland 6378 ALS holster. That's a good holster but no department would issue that. They'd issue a 6360 or similar, something with level 3 retention.
    - Your pistol has custom stippling, a Zev mag, a custom trigger, and an Olight. No way a department is letting you get away with that.
    - You completely skip over your flashlight holder.
    - I'm sure some departments let their officers carry a backup blade, but something as overt as a Skallywag D2 dagger? I doubt it. Again, there's a lot of play on your knife's sheath and what looks like no real retention. You also make the claim that the D2 dagger is the belt blade for LE without providing any evidence to back up your claim.
    - You mention your tourniquet in passing.
    - You carry a 20rd AR mag with steel cased ammo in a G Code scorpion. Police don't carry AR mags, let alone ones with only 20rds of steel cased ammo. Even if you did, there's no way a G code scorpion is an acceptable carrier. And the position of the mag on the belt is wrong. Why is it in the back? Fighting stuff up front.
    - You skip over your radio carrier which does not a radio.
    - Your duty flashlight, honestly I see no issue other than it's too large and cumbersome for daily use. You even have trouble reseating it.
    - You have a taser holster with no taser. Even if you did have a taser, your pistol mags would block it from clearing its holster on the draw.
Like, where is your badge even? If you're a real cop, prove it. As a public servant it shouldn't be an issue letting us know which department you work for. I don't think you're a cop, I think you're cosplaying as one.

There are nearly a million sworn law enforcement across almost 20,000 law enforcement agencies in this country. From special jurisdiction to the municipal/county/state, and all the way up and across the federal level, there is little to no standardization of equipment between agencies. Especially from across different states or on a national level. Do not generalize and assume each and every department is the same, operates the same, or has the same internal policies because they don't.

@@buckshatt340 "Tons of departments" Can you name which LEO department uses "Safelite?" body armor? No federal, state or large agency uses "Safelite." Let alone the military! Now let me school you, Sir. I am a former LEO with ISP (Illinois State Police) changed careers after serving over 10 years LEO combined, currently, I am a firefighter. Also, I'm a combat military veteran of two military branches, the Air Force and the U.S Army with over 17 years combined, 2 tours in the Middle East, and countless military deployments in support of military objectives and missions, my entire life has been devoted to the service of my country, state, and city. Now referring to "Safelite" they may state they're NIJ certified, compliant, or approved but asked them to supply you with a letter from NIJ listing them as being certified. In fact, you can verify vendors directly with NIJ too. Lastly, I am "NOT" saying "Safelite" is a shit product, garbage, etc. They can do all the in-house testing they wish but if they don't have a stamp on their body armor stating NIJ certified, then that doesn't count. Now you mentioned, "surpassed all the other garbage" but you forgot to mention names of which garbage you're referring to. NYPD, CPD, ISP, LAPD, etc US Marshalls, FBI, DEA, Military, none uses "Safelite!" Real body armor costs money and I'm not saying "Safelite" is not "REAL" but they are affordable, one size kinda fits all by looking at a chart. When you enter any LEO Academy, you'll be measured for the correct size body armor that's going to be issued to you. No agency looks at a sizing chart and determines which vest will fit you because each body type is different! Lastly, why do you think "Safelite" offers "affordable body armor? Because their kevlar is outsourced to China. If you want to risk your life wearing Chinese body armor then by all means suit yourself. But if my community, family, and personal safety are involved, trust me that I will wear "American" made and CERTIFIED NIJ body armor, regardless of the cost. I wouldn't trust my life on a substandard product based on a price point. So you see, Sir... I do have a "Clue" because I've worn the uniform!
