A company I used to work for used Karcher Professional floor care equipment, and the machines were unreliable. The B 300 RI sweeper-scrubber machine starting developing hydraulic leaks when the machine was only 4 years old. The KM 90/60 battery powered sweeper developed a drive problem that put the machine out of service for over a year, and the dust control filter design was also faulty. Don't even bother trying to fix that pressure washer and avoid Karcher at all costs!

That's a common problem on Kercher washers.
Inlet, outlet and head unit made of plastic. If you leave the pressure washer outside during the cold winter times, there is a little amount of water in the plastic parts and when it gets cold and freezes, plastic parts crack.
Latest models have ALL metal parts.
    I know, fixed enough machines.

I now have the problem with my K2.38M model. It has been standing indoors in a cupboard for over 4 years and when I went to use it the other other day it just pulsed all the time but didn't appear to have any internal leeks. I haven't got all the necessary tools required to dismantle this model and Karcher wants £120 to service it. I can get a new, more up to date one from Amazon for about £100 so I will do that.
Considering how little I have used my 9 year old Karcher they don't seem very robust. It has been cosseted and cleaned but the internals clearly don't last.

Great vid thanks! One of the pistons has rust on the top - that goes into the plastic part. Where those 3 rubber washer rings are is where my Karcher is leaking.. I guess new rubber seals would be a good idea to replace, however I think I'll try a clean up and re-grease and see how it performs...I have some thick silicone grease for sealing it but I think it's too thick for the pistons against the rubber.. Maybe silicone oil on that bit? Or Lithium grease?..

    Hi Larcs,
The plastic welding rods arrived but unfortunately they were not the type of plastic that the manifold was made from, PA66 FA.
Can't find anything around the house made out of PA66 so I decided to mold the hair line crack with the welding iron.
Not a bad outcome but now the nipple of the detergent tube won't sit as it should.
Probably use a good waterproof glue to permanently glue the nipple unit.

The tie cable ( made from nylon) did the trick, the hair line crack nicely welded.
However, I'm thinking of completely welding the detergent nipple because water is leaking from around it.
Here's something that you might be able to shed some light on. You have the spring valve that the detergent nipple sits on ( I'm taking about the manifold assembly) .What I observed that the spring valve does have its coil about it but when the nipple sits on it the valve becomes rigid. Is that normal? I can't see how the valve will maintain its coil ( springness) when the nipple is pressing down on it.

I gave up and bought instead a powerful second hand gas with 2700 PSI and very simple, replaced a tire and the rip cord and it cost $80 and did a 360 sq deck and stairs in no time. At 8:48 the motor body is full of gunk. Most K2 Karcher motors run in a bath of engine oil. It looks like the oil has emulsified and so expoxying the cracked valve isn't the only repair, the whole motor needs a clean and rebuild. Most Karchers end up in a skip, Karcher should set up a free return system so they can recycle the plastics. The Karcher sales channels are full of refurbished Karcher offers because they get so many warranty returns!!

You say "pop then out" but don't show how to. My K2.900M has 4 rubbers but I'm damned if I get get them out with a screwdriver.

Karcher pressure washer is market leader in Europe but not in quality. Low prize but also low quality. I use a Kränzle, also a German company. It runs since nearly 30 Years without any problem. Only the rotating nozzle failed after 22 Years.

Karcher should be strung up for continuing to make the washers, using the same cheap plastic part that has been one of the main faults of such overpriced washers, for 20 years-ish, then charging nearly a half or a third of the price for a new complete machine, just for a cheap plastic faulty unfit for purpose very small part of the full washer, purely for greed hoping for more sales and filling dumps up with perfectly good more costly global resources. no one should ever buy such expensive brands like Karcher that sell crap with faulty parts, they deserve a bad reputation when for a small amount the machines could be great,
