The segment on the Vietnamese is heart felt. Like so many other waves of immigrants, collectively they have worked hard to succeed in America.
I remember a man my age, born @1970, who played competitive soccer on opposing teams. Ya Mok of Southfield High School (Southfield, Michigan) was a success on the soccer field. I wonder how his Life went after 1988.

Yes it is. But when some governor of California Jerry "Moonbeam" Brown refused to take in Vietnamese boat people, because he was afraid that they would and did register as republican.

We've come a long way in 35 years. The show looks old, but it was always been good.

Power Up Your Health If you really look at the stories profiled here, it doesn't seem like we've come that far--Still dealing with questions of immigration vs. anti-immigration (and the focus is whether or not they will learn the language, and whether or not they will "take" jobs from "real Americans" And what that term means depends on whether you are liberal or conservative in your philosophy.), employment vs. inflation, social services "vs." traditional religion. Watching this, I have to wonder...
Have we really changed that much? Have we really changed at all? Only time will tell....

can you put up the Bill Geist visit to Seaside Heights, probably from '89 (although a few claim as late as '93)
A lot of people would love to see it in this quality (and also have the dispute over which year it took place in, settled).

2:30. Charles Kuralt: “I don’t know what’s hot from what’s not but Blair Sabol knows”. I guess she did, if appearances are any indication. Talk about a flashback to the 70s!

Wow it's been a long time since the Vietnamese refugee influx. I remember them very well (nearby San Jose, CA has a huge Viet community). Most Viet kids have no idea the Vietnam war even existed unless their grandparents talk about it.
