- We ride one of the most exclusive and expensive production motorbikes on the planet. After falling in love with the SS100 during a Brough Superior factory visit, we were desperate to ride one, but will it live up to our quite possibly unrealistic expectations?

I think we would all agree, its a super job to test all makes of bikes and ride them around the world! Thats a super job to have.
Dream job for sure
"Hello, Honey! I was just talking about you..." LOL !!!
Beautiful, but those pipes are something that only the designer could love.
How can something so ugly be a 'homage' to one of the most beautiful machines ever made.
If you do buy one don't park it next to an original Brough !
Agreed, it's embarrassing. I could do better in my kitchen, and can't be arsed.
Oooohh your poor wife!
Amazing beauty and sound from this work of art...
What an eye-wateringly beautiful place!
I loved this video so much that i watched it 3 times. Amazing video. Great detailed review👍
Great review, very informative, funny and spot on. The tone of the voice, the quality of the video and info made me like this bike. 🏆🏆. Good job. 🥇🎖🥇
Another British iconic company gone in the wind.
I can afford Rough Inferior.... Beauty is an opinion but to me it looks great and won't ever look dated because it already does
Well done!
I'm not a cruiser guy and prefer British classic bikes, but I think in that price tag Arch motorcycles look better. This one looks kind of over the top to the point where it's not elegant anymore.
A classy review for a classy motorcycle. Well done! I certainly hope other manufacturers of “classic” bikes take note that the presence of a “seamless” tank (absence of an ugly pinch-weld) speaks volumes about its elegance.
Love to see small factories making a go of things. But IMO as long as they remain in production I can’t see them being ‘an investment.’
Maybe someone in Nottingham should start building Delage’s, Delahaye’s or Lago Talbot’s.
The Germans have already started building Bugatti's !!
Looks allright . Nice design . thats all to it . 65k juro absolutely not . Any modern halfway decent motorbike make will match its performance and riding enjoyment
I am 62 years and owned a Lot of bikes ranching from Royal Enfield Bullit, Kawasaki Mach IV 750 cc triple, Norton Commando, Honda CBX- Six, Triumph Speed Four to todays the glorious Royal Enfield Interceptor Chrome, but... This bike beats them all!!
I have fallen in Love, on the spot. Please, solve the ground Clearance. That is unacceptable! And i am not shure about the shape, collor and material ( plastic!?) of the windshield. I can't afford it but that price is a steal. Love to visit your factory after Covid. Kind regards, Kobus the Netherlands 😁👍🤸♂️👋
Being as much of a motorcycle rider/enthusiast as I am, I can’t believe I am only now just discovering that there is a modern day Brough Superior company. The new “Lawrence” model looks gorgeous as well
A gorgeous object of desire. Great review.
Steampunk with bags of pedigree and artistry. I want one. Now the hard bit.
Great review! Say hallo to your wife 😃
I dont get the quad exhaust, the regular SS100 looks better to me, but the Pendine Sand Racer is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. I'm surprised that BS hasn't remade the Grand Alpine Super Sports, that would be amazing.
Had no idea that bike existed and all I gotta say is 💕😍💕.
I enjoy seeing bikes like this that are not the cookie cutter design! Character and personality are essential for a bike to be a classic ! France and America = GREAT AGAIN 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
No way,France a shit socialist hole.
That's the most beautiful piece of two wheeled Art Déco I've ever seen... granted it's the only two wheeled Art Déco piece I've seen but I doubt anything could top that.
No wonder Moto Morini chose (back when...) to make their 1200cc V-Twin a 88 degree to eliminate vibrations without the use of counter-rotating mass etc....
The Pagani Huayra of bikes. Performance figures aren't really the point of it. The engineering is.
And they nailed it.
True story
Really nice bike
Those wheels look like they belong in the 90s.
Bob Smith My first thought was the eighties. Flash Gordon, wide body kits for cars etc.
Air suspension front and rear is awesome...I wish all vehicles had something similar...springy pieces of metal are so caveman in 2019
Really like the lines and aluminium details of this bike but not convinced by the 4 floating discs on the front brake they look like a maintenance disaster..
The ease of scraping the exhaust on the floor looks like a complete no too!
Thanks for this. I didn’t know about this initiative. What is the actual relationship between this company and Brough? The bike is interesting no doubt, but in some ways I was not getting ‘Brough’.
Umm a beautiful Contraption
The smoothest Vee twin you have ever ridden aye. Could you please track down an Yamaha xv 1900 roadliner or stratoliner and tell me if it isn't the smoothest vee twin you have ridden please.
Butafull as a piece of artwork a motocycle to ride is a different beast all together if ya know wa i mean
I love it, except for the pipes
Who ever designed that thing should be arrested!
It's my home
WOW 😲 that's a great looking Bike.
If I could afford it, I'd still use that money to buy a reliable japanese bike, and keep the change for upgrades and spare parts
Well, I think you could get the A to B Japanese bike, forget about any significant after purchase costs, and then buy something else that is...interesting
Have to agree, would be a dirty shame to be struck by a dumbass motorist busy texting!
It has so many clunky visual elements such as the wheels and those silly exhausts. The duck tail section sort of wants to be short and long, but can't make up its mind. Ah well it is like BMW owners and lovers, they buy them even though to most people they look very unusual, more practicality than art piece, like the difference between a broom and a recurve bow.
Me encanta, pero una lastima porque sólo está al alcance de unos pocos....de echo, por ese motivo no se conoce mucho de ésta marca....
I tought it cost’s a lot more...it looks it...
Lol 65k Euro lol
Superb
Brough Superior SS100 ... let me guess, Limited to 100 editions ? 🤔
Love it.
Great video. The engine and technology look great. The rest of it should be binned ! The styling is abhorrent. Go and stand next to the original and if you have a biking soul you will understand what I'm saying. If you buy this for an investment then you are merely a pedestrian. Only saying.
Yes, the original Brough is beautiful, this is a mess.
If james bond rode a motorbike it would be an ss 100
If T.E. Lawrence rode a motorbike it would be a Brough Sup.
I wanna buy but I am japan
First My fav channel
Ah, I disagree. It's bloody beautiful. Probably because I ride a BMW? :)
This has got to be the ugliest update to any older motorcycle. Shame on the designer for making that hideous abomination.
Beautifully built but styling spolit by those unneccessary upper silencers. Get rid of those and the thing is a winner. Would that also reduce the price by a couple of '000 Euros? !!!
Good conclusion. May be you will convince your wife.
how can you really judge the 'ride quality' when the roads are so smooth. Needs some dirty world potholes and washboard. The engine's vibe free, yet isn't that the nature of 90 degree v-twins?
There's too much hype surrounding this machine.
It’s beautiful, but not exactly my style. There are some other bespoke bikes at slightly lower or much higher prices I’d rather have. Otherwise I’d just buy a Triumph Speed Twin.
Wonder how much a real SS100 will run you?
I wish I could afford a Brough...
So do I..but I wouldn't buy one.
@@splodge5714 Fair enough!
I would. And I would ride it!
Yeahyeahyeah.....But nowadays you have to compete with, Honda, Kawasaki. BMW, dont speak about hmmm.. HD, and resoructian INDIAN..and so on ....dont 4get Ducati..andandand..
It might be a well-made bike but sorry, that is not a good looking bike...
Nice bike, silly money. Prefer my 1200 Sportster.
Not if you have that money and want it
Steam punk
Let’s hope his wife lives for at least the next year, otherwise he’s going to be the prime suspect.
That is not a Brough Superior!
V-twin with 4 exhaust tips. It does justice to the initials: The BS.
I dont know if it applies to the brough but Twin port is a thing....
Some design flaws....needed to keep more in period. Those exhaust pipes are more like trumpets and the tank seat arrangement is more 70's style and lacks finesse
Nah, yeah, nah....
Honestly it doesn’t look good. A design only designer can love.
Infortunetly for you, we are here 462 witnesses to have heard you talk about your wife,s life insurance policy, you,re not going to be declared innocent, too bad for you, maybe, in another life, you can ride this awsome motorcycle, lol
An affront to the Brough name I reckon; yes it's a specialist motorcycle, yes it uses the best components. I deeply admire the passion that has gone into making this motorcycle.
But hell, it's plug ugly. What's that bulky casting on the right side, just off the crank? Is it the alternator maybe or starter motor? Whichever, It looks like an afterthought and it's hideous. The radiator spoils the looks from any frontal angle and those four exhausts on a twin are just overkill. More weight, more width. From the side view, the 90 degree V-twin just looks awkward and makes the bike look long and ungainly. It's not a pretty bike, however well-made.
It may be built by expert engineers and craftsmen, but It's a millionaire's toy at 65k Euro. Ok, if you've got the money then great, but if you truly are a millionaire, you could buy a real Brough for about a £100K. And probably still not ride it.
A bit bizarre. Love and peace.
It's abusing the name for cash. I think it's crap.
Word "beauty" a bit overused, boutique "kitsch" is probably closer. Sounds good though.
The engine is a beauty .the rest....no.
The proportions of the design just don’t work.
That’s horrid, such a bitter disappointment.
At least it sounds ok.
"Engineering artworks?" - it would go nicely with my 3 plaster ducks.. It may well be beautifully made but the sad truth is it's plug ugly.. a real bowser..
Looks like someone puked up a Meccano set. Sounds nice though.
Yuck
Whoever designed this bike tried really hard to make a beautiful classic ride look like a UJM.
sad
low energy
The awful 1970s looking exhaust pipes and alloy wheels ruin this motorbike.
I would still prefer my Suzuki Gixxer over this
A Ducati 916 is far better looking
Overstyled and ugly steampunk weird bike. I’d say a disrespect to the real Broughs. No wonder it failed.
My old Suzuki SV1000 (naked) would out-perform this bike in every respect and for a fraction of the price. I really don't see the point of this exercise apart from the creation of some pointless, rich man's toy. The history of motorcycling was all about working men (and women) not the super rich. Brough Superior - and its celebrity customers like Florence of Arabia - was always an anomaly. My current bike, a BMW R1200R (naked, oil-head), would likewise outperform this Brough in every respect and for very modest money. It's also a lot more comfortable because the Brough's designers have fallen fashion victims to the cafe racer look. This riding position emerged from men who showed-off on short jaunts around London and the home counties in the 1950s/60s. If they had to go more than about 50 mile their shoulders, neck and wrists would be shredded. So what's the point? But full marks for actually going to the factory and trying it out, it's a long way from S.A.
@Ticky TockyYou're missing the point. To put it in your terms: I bought a box of Rite-Aid wine for $10 which outperformed the $100 bottle in EVERY way: bouquet, colour, foretaste, balance, acidity aftertaste, etc. The only thing the $100 bottle had was the snob value of the label. If that's what turns your crank, fair enough, but labels don't do it for me.
@Ticky Tocky I accept your point that for a craftsman who loves various forms of artisan/hi-tech workshop practice this may be a wonderful product. My father might have agreed with you. He served his apprenticeship in a reconditioning workshop after the second world war. Britain was skint at the time, with no spares and a steel shortage meaning everything had to be fixed rather than replaced. Consequently he learned a vast array of arcane workshop skills. I'm not a craftsman, I'm a pragmatist. So if I can buy a V-twin thousand which is aesthetically more pleasing than the quirky Brough, produces about 20 per cent more power, corners better (no chance of anything touching down on an SV) runs with 100 per cent reliability and longevity and costs less than a tenth of the premium product - then there is only one choice. Your assumption that mass production is inherently less reliable than bespoke engineering is just plain wrong. Both Suzuki and BMW (and every other major) has vastly more experience than Brough plus big budgets to test every component to destruction. It doesn't make them perfect but there is far more chance of finding gremlins and design failures in the Brough. When Hesketh tried making bespoke V twins they had cooling problems. When DeLorean tried making radical sports cars they suffered multifarious failures (and owners discovered polished stainless steel is very hard to repair after accidents). TVRs had electrical issues leading to breakdowns and on and on. The history of elite automotive ventures is littered with small scale and large scale calamities. My Suzuki & BMW have never required anything other than scheduled service items and have never let me down.
@Ticky Tocky To quote your earlier point: "My BMWs were junk and cost me more in parts and repair than this thing ever would." That is an assumption as we have no way of knowing how the Brough will perform over long term ownership. The examples I quoted of Hesketh, DeLorean and TVR illustrated how high-concept projects failed to live up to their billing. But that's enough from me, we have a vastly different outlook and I respect your opinion of what is right for you. So I wish you good luck and best wishes from a rather damp North Wales.
@@davidspropaganda Yes, on re-reading my comment it does come across like that. But I'm not a Marxist: too much compulsion required to run most kind of "isms". I want to enjoy as much freedom as possible so I'll settle for capital (ism). However, my instinct will always be to identify with the masses - especially when I see rich people making a tw** of themselves, as they're doing here with this Frankenstein bike. Mass-produced German, British, Italian and Japanese bikes can run rings around the Brough at a fraction of the price: so what's the point?
What sickens me is that some rich Arab from Dubai, or wherever will buy one, and he has NO clue how to ride a motorcycle. Stick with the camel, Abdul!
Typo in the video title. Embarrassing.
Fixed - thank you for letting us know...
Unworthy of the Brough name. What idiot thinks that a "gentleman's motorcycle" should make a racket like some immature boy racer? Who could imagine putting those garish ugly pipes on a bike after seeing the beautiful original with its double fishtails? I would never buy this no matter how much money I had.
It looks like a cheap over the top Chinese Bike…! Nothing like the Original..👎
