I was not happy when Bombardier gave away 50.01% of this project away to Airbus but in hindsight they needed sales only Airbus could generate by this move. I was wrong and I will admit it. Looks like this plane will make a great impact on the aviation world.
These guys are a great advertisement for Air Baltic. I hope they are still flying during COVID and they make me want to fly Air Baltic one day.
Amazing that they were able to fly what's essentially a medium range narrow-body aircraft across the atlantic. The range of this aircraft is amazing.
Once you had to fit inertial navigation or loran omega receivers boxes to short haul jets (this was the case for the delivery of some planes from the USA to Europe), now you just fly your standard avionics
Gerhard speaks better english than me a 40 year old native. Impressive.
These two pilots are great spokesmen for Air Baltic. Very professional, knowledgeable and love their sense of humour! This must be a great airline to work at if this is the quality of the workforce.

The A220's most advanced feature is the radio filter that gives you a sultry radio talk show host voice, everything else is just a bonus.
Brilliant - calm, polite, measured, patient, great language, they obviously get along brilliantly - actually, a credit to humankind.

I live at 57.2 degrees North in the Scottish highlands and I love watching aircraft fly over my house to and from the North Atlantic. Flightradar24 is brilliant for seeing brand new aircraft come from the West. I’ve wanted to visit Latvia for a while now and I’m definitely going to visit this year so I can experience these gorgeous aircraft for myself. I’ve been married for ever, my kids have left home, I’m 44 and now have time to indulge my passion of aviation. I’m the only female in my area who gets excited by aircraft and I get grief from other people for it - bollocks to them!
Kudos to you. My lady cousin retired as captain from United air. I was USAF aircraft mechanic 1980 to 85. I flew Cessnas 150 & flight simulator for C 141A&B. Retired as a truck driving instructor.2012.
I was born during WW2, and I'm an old techno-phile. there is absolutely NO WAY this experience would ever be available to me now, in physical terms. Thank you for giving me this experience, in virtuality :) And now I am curious about Latvia, how your country seems to keep yourselves out of :trouble. One never hears of trouble in Latvia. :) I'd love to come fly planes with you, even at this age.

Although I fully comprehend the dog eat dog world of aviation competition, and the reasons the C Series program was sold. It still breaks my heart to see this amazing piece of Canadian technology labeled, and marketed as an Airbus product. To me, it will always be a Bombardier.
I understand your point of view but I think Airbus will be beneficial for the A220 program in the long run, the plane is already flying all around the world

I get a kick out of the safety vests the pilots wear while walking out to the jet at 14:40 and on. One says A220-300, while the other says CS300, proudly recalling the C-series designation.
As a pilot and subscriber to many flying channels on CZcams this delivery flight was hands down the very best. Very informative for all aviation fans. Thank you and congrats with your latest bird to your fleet.
I fly so much for work, during lockdown i used youtube videos as white noise to sleep 😅. Great video, amazing to see professionals working.
I normally don't watch these longer videos, but I am impressed with Air Baltic and these two pilots. The PM was a bit more at ease. The many camera angles are quite good and it was a pleasure to watch the entire production.

Wow. This is a great video. Awesome Crew, beautiful modern aircraft. Love the detail. I can't help but think about how Boeing totally blew it by not creating something brand new. Hard for me to say but Airbus truly is eating Boeing's lunch.

Beautiful aircraft! AirBus made a great decision investing the the further development and manufacturing of this CS300/Airbus A220-300. A good partnership and the jet fills a niche of larger 3/2 single isle air transport airliners.

its hard to choose between A220 and E-2... But the A220 looks more gorgeous. The Canadians made a completely new plane from their previous flagships

Great video. Some points to ponder;
The range - they flew 8 hours (yes, empty of pax) but they also had another 3 and a half tons for a further 2 hours of flight time. Incredible.
The cockpit - I guess manual check lists have gone the way of the gooney bird. Everything is on screen now. Technology, huh?
The sidestick - I keep trying to imagine if I would be more comfortable with my left hand flying, or my right. I wonder how it feels to be a 1st officer and get used to right hand flying, then move up to capt and have to use the left...I know there's a joke in there somewhere, but this is a family video.
That's why pilots are offended when its referred to as a joy stick instead. No yoke.

I remember Balkan Air back in the mid 80's when I was living in Harare, Zimbabwe. I was a DJ at Harare's premier Nite Club, Archipelago Nite Club and we used to get a lot of the Crew come down quite often on their layovers. They were always very friendly, especially the Cabin Staff - I remember one always wanted to take me back to Bulgaria with her! Sadly I had to gracefully decline as I was sure my wife would not have been well pleased...lol. But they were great fun! Their company was excellent and very charming!
Balkan was one of the very few Airlines that flew into Harare at the time. Not sure what Aircraft they were though....???

A decade and a half ago I was flying from Athens to Thessaloniki and I was the only passenger in a widebody airplane. The feeling was quite surreal. But I have to say the service was good! :D
