I totally understand why they cut out the blue sweater scene, as Andy really starts to care what she is wearing, which would kind of contradict the "cerulean" scene later in the movie. But why on earth did they cut the elevator scene? It is short enough to not slow the movie down, yet it shows that Andy is making progress with Miranda.
To be fair, even with the blue sweater scene here, she throws up her hands and says “whatever”, so the cerulean scene still works (and tbh if this was Andy trying her best to meet Runway’s standards, it would further emphasize how Miranda’s comments later push her to break down in front of Nigel)
The one featured quality of New York that sets it apart: Sarcasm.
Even Emily Blunt's character (-when in Rome). This is how you can distinguish Andrea from 'Cincinnatti' - fresh faced & the sarcasm isn't there.
"Has She DIED or Something?" - Miranda
Streeps shoulder shrug was enough.
One of my favorite American movies 👍👍 Lousy book but made into a brilliant script!!
Andy was so dislikeable in the book 🤢🤢
@@marikkelaszlo3355 I dont think theres one likeable character in the book. Except maybe Nigel who appears for like 3 short scenes. Everyone else is so condescending and cynical
She should have the Oscar for this!

"looks like my opinion means nothing"
ouch...is he trying to be mean? he doesn't seem to be full of spite though...and he should be clever enough to know it's not a nice thing to say out loud...
Well, granted when he gets passed over, after pouring himself into his work....seems kinda fitting now.
