    Nice catches!! You will get more movement in your jig if the float is moveable and not pinned by a stop on the bottom. Rigged that way...When you pull, the line comes through the float and making the bait rise further in the water column and then fall back down. When the float is moveable you dont move the bait as far with each bump either, therefore keeping the bait in the desired area longer. Check it out and test it in some clear water or the bathtub, a fish tank or swimming pool etc.
    Have a great day!!

      @FishYanker  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Thank you. Yes, I know what you're talking about But when I do the long pulls and stops I want to keep the jig down in the Crappie strike zone and not at top of the water. but yeah you can do it different ways for sure. I guess it all depends which way you're trying to fish. either in one spot or searching. Thank you I appreciate the information. 😊

      @@FishYanker Okay..I get what your saying. I didn't mean for what I said to sound like what you were doing is wrong. Just a suggestion of another way to do it.

    • @FishYanker
      @FishYanker  Před 6 měsíci

      Yes sir. I agree. I know what you're talking about. fishing around brush tops and stuff it would really do good. Good way to vertical jig without being on top of the brush top or structure. It's a great idea. I will try it.

    Thanks for making the videos? Are you using electronics first to find the crappie and/or structure? Or, randomly casting in an area youve caught crappie before?

    • @FishYanker
      @FishYanker  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I use electronics mainly to see how deep the water is and check temperatures. Also look at the structure and see some of the bait fish. When I see bait fish I start fishing because the crappie follow the bait fish most of the time. And thank you I appreciate you watching.

      I am here in Arkansas. The fish like to hang in the 3 to 4 ft range when they are feeding in this particular lake. I'm only fishing about 20" deep. Thank you I appreciate you watching.
