After seeing instructional videos like this one, you've got me hooked! You are an incredible teacher! What I thought was boring became your methodic style of teaching. I did not know that the chords started and ended on the root note. Even though it was right in front of me I just never realized that. I knew you were supposed to place your index finger where your pinky was to work your way up there guitar neck but I never knew that you were matching the root note. Now instead of just blindly putting my fingers where I'm told you I actually understand why I'm doing it. You are a gifted teacher Thank you. -JD

OMG ...it just clicked! I have learned the basic idea of the CAGED and I knew about being able to use those shapes to move up and down the fret board..i did NOT realize the root note connection and how it moved down the fret board. (How you could go from the first C to the next C (A shape) to the next C (G shape) by simply using the bridge side root note.
I always thought the CAGED system was simply based on/referring to the system of using those shapes to make different chords in various positions on the neck.
    Thats freaking awesome!

    Mind blown!
Been playing guitar for about 43 years and while I've heard of the CAGED system, never really was introduced to them! I'd like to go back in time and slap the snot out of my guitar teacher in High School. Looking forward to Part 2. Thanks.
