Idk about industry plant, but he definitely became mainstream famous due to everyone realizing he was Kendrick’s cousin on Family Ties. He still had some buzz tho because of Orange Soda and Moshpit, and kinda disappeared for a year or 2 after that. If he was an industry plant, I feel like the label would want to keep his buzz going instead going away until family ties like he did.

It’s not what you know it’s who you know. When family looks out for family that’s a blessing. Family usually takes out one another for fame and fortune so to see family watching out for each other is a great thing. People get signed a lot and barely any get signed because they’re family. Every now and then so nothing wrong with it. Help a family member catch a bag why not. Better then let a family member catch a hot one to the chest. Family’s don’t move like they used to so it’s nice to see a change.

Heck, Tyler the Creator and Pharrell have a similar relationship as Pharrell opened up some doors for him. This is like having a champion dad who’s gonna help his son not make the same mistakes as him and there is nothing wrong with that ngl. Keem has been in the industry for a minute. I’m sure being Kendrick’s cousin has been super helpful in his career, and I’m sure you could argue that it’s then my reason that he got the fame he did, but he’s been working for the industry for a minute. Helping other artists write, and making reference tracks. I think the reason people tend to support Keem, despite having Plant allegations is that his music bops, and there is so much potential observed in his Hillbillies project with Kendrick. Keem has struggled, and there is a story to tell, and people want to see that story, he may be a plant, but this is one plant that has won over the people, and not just sold out for the money. Though no matter how far he goes, he’ll always be my favorite Minecraft CZcamsr

Okay, I feel like people discredit Baby Keem as an artist a lot and act like he is basically a Kendrick Lamar alt account, which, in all due respect, is dumb and very disrespectful to Keem. Kendrick didn’t just straight up write all of Keem's catalog, and this post is basically saying that he did. Kendrick probably helped Keem write a couple songs, but acting like Kendrick has the time to run two careers is just unrealistic. They definitely help each other. I’m writing songs, and Kendrick possibly even has given Keem songs, and as much as y’all will hate to hear this and deny it, it is also likely that Keem has even given Kendrick songs, especially from the amount of rumors there are that he does. So basically, they probably ghostwrite for each other at times, but by no means in Keem some alt Kendrick account or some shit, like, don’t discredit Keem's artistry like that; he is his own artist, and y’all gotta treat him as it. (Also, there have also been things like Keem ghostwriting for various other rappers, so he can definitely write.)

I would say Kendrick Lamar gave him a oppurtunity, and baby keem took that oppurtunity and then kept going on his own. Most of his success is by himself.

I'm proud of Kendrick for boosting his cousin. Baby Keem deserves all the help he can get.

  • @josepabloochoadelatorre6876

If he acknowledged that Kendrick was his cousin from the start, it would’ve had made him blow up quick, but also die as quick (look at mr. Bro for example).
So I think he just did it correctly, acknowledging that Kendrick was his cousin till he was somewhat popular.
Plus his songs are actually really good, and some of my favorite Kendrick songs are in collab with keem

We wouldn’t care if instead Kendrick owned a business and when his cousin said they wanted to join the business Kendrick made him the manager. It’s literally just nepotism and it’s perfectly fine and respectful to bring your family to the top and pass the wealth forward .

I feel like it’s different when a family member genuinely wants to put you on and see you succeed. Rather than a major company forcing the artist to cut off all their ties and DSPs are forcing their music on us.

an artist having a platform isn’t a bad thing for me unless u start seeing stuff about them when u don’t go out of ur way to see it or when radios play songs regardless of how bad a song is just cus they have a lot of money or respect. I only knew about orange soda until 2022 and then i heard family ties and thought it was great so listened to his catalogue, i like how i’d never heard about him even tho his cousin is who he is. So it’s not one of those industry plants where someone just wants to put a family member on and they’re actually not talented, keem is talented and made his own way. His cousin might’ve helped him financially and gave him a great couple songs and i’ll get hate for this but i actually like more keem songs than kendrick songs which is great for keem cus it shows people aren’t just listening for him cus of who he is
