    France used yellow headlights (and fog lights) exclusively on all vehicles registered in the country until 1992 when the European Union standardized the color of headlights to clear. Yellow doesn't reflect as harshly off of fog or rain and allows the driver to see better. When I first moved to France nearly all vehicles had yellow headlights.

    Where I am, southwest Colorado, it’s gets very dark at night and sometimes I have to lookout for wildlife. I decided to put 35w HID as my primary headlight and Morimoto high beams, I use a 35w hid yellow fog light. It’s does a very nice job. The yellow works well in the dusty roads, fog and snow. My own Land Cruiser looks like an ordinary one, so special overland features. Thank you for the gear shift indicator change. I did that one. I’m looking at turning my tailgate into a storage area. I’m tired of having recovery equipment, jumper cables first aid kit out in the cargo area.

    Thanks for a great video as always. I have an LX470 and the projector housings don't like the LED bulbs so I ended up going with morimoto HIDs in my fogs and then putting yellow tint on the lenses. Before I put the tint on, I did the 3M headlight restoration and was incredibly happy with it. The HID's are a pain in the ass to wire up, but with projectors they give you a more even light. We'll see how well the tint holds up over time.

      The lx fogs are so much nicer than the lc. I wish they were interchangeable 😭

    I love my LED bulbs in my fogs on my LC. Mine are switchbacks, which allows me to go from white 6000K to yellow 3000K. You'll love having yellow in bad weather conditions! They've been great! Love your
    waterproof license plate cover! ;)

    Nice man. The Allen key addition usually means there is a place on the LED stem you can loosen and rotate to maximize efficiency for your reflector bowl shape and mounting angle. I think most of these companies like to hide that set screw under the seal gasket. Probably less important for a fog light location vs headlight though.

    Try off of amazon the Hikari Ultra LED bulbs. They’re pricy but boy do they light up. I had em on my 80 and i have em on my Hundy now and they’re great

    Hey, have you ever encountered or heard from others about high beams suddenly not working? I'm finding myself problem shooting that atm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Awesome video too, I have LED fogs otw!

      Like when you flash the hi beam, it doesn’t flash?

    • @austinrobinson2659
      @austinrobinson2659 Před 2 lety +1

      @@chowcares Yep. The low beams turn on , but when I go to engage the highs, they do not turn on whether its pushing the stick forward to stay on, or pulling the stick back to flash. Crossing my fingers it'll be a simple fuse or fusible link replacement.

    • @chowcares
      @chowcares  Před 2 lety

      @@austinrobinson2659 never run into that problem before. Like u said, hopefully something simple. Check fuses, relays, and the bulb itself. If u have a multimeter, check that there’s voltage going into the bulb socket

    I like it looks great keep in mind on the bulb position I have a 2005 Toyota 4runner where the fog light bulb locking position is sideways also your 2 sided led chip should be facing at 3 and 9. Many older toyota like the tundra, 4runners, tacoma, and sequoia have this issue where many have there led bulbs are facing12 and 6 the beam pattern will not give you good proper lighting. Seen so many videos already where bulbs are not properly positioned. Allen key is provided to adjust the position on the bulb so that the led chip is facing at 3 and 9 and another way is the pigtail connection is facing down. But yes do your headlight too like the ride!! Im using the Lasfit led switchback has a 360 degree turn to properly position bulb that do not lock facing down. Here is how I understood about proper led lighting I did not know until I watch this czcams.com/video/NbfAyqVgVdM/video.html

    Yellow-lights look 🤢 during 95% of the 5% time you drive w em on. Cops hate em/methhead magnet/make you recognized a mile away/ and only work that 7 seconds you needed them.
