  • Learn how we test gold and silver items for their authenticity. Testing gold can be complicated, difficult and most testing equipment (like XRF) is very expensive. Knowing if you are buying genuine or fake gold, will be a cause of headaches and lost money if you cannot confirm the purity of gold bars, gold coins, silver coins, silver bars, platinum and palladium.
In this episode, Mr Rich from MyGold NZ demonstrates how to test a variety of gold coins (Gold Maple, Gold Kangaroo, Gold Krugerrand), gold bars (Perth Mint Gold Minted Bars, PAMP Suisse Gold Bars), and more!
One of our favorite methods to test gold uses the electrical conductance method or Eddy Current. See how we use the 'GoldScreenBox' made by Goldanalytix in Germany.
