I just need a machine that will detect tungsten or whatever deep inside thick layer of gold... Such thing exists?
Why do you need to calibrate it with copper coin? And could you callibrate it with other metals?

What I am wanting is something that will determine if something is solid 24K or just plated. I am having trouble finding out what to buy because there's a lot of confusing info, such as this video. @@meauxjeaux431 firstly there is no one test for gold aside from fire assay. I suggest you look deeper into the subject and educate yourself on the options.

will this detect tungsten coated with 24k gold? (which would weigh the same as pure gold)
In our testing, absolutely. Tungsten has a different electrical conductance. 👍🏻
@@MyGoldNZ so a different metal on the inside of a bar will change the electrical conductivity at the surface, even though the whole surface (to a depth of 1/8 of an inch) is pure, unalloyed gold??
@@petya7105 ever heard of ultrasound? There's no one perfect method aside from fire assay. Best to use several in conjunction.

Am I correct in saying that if a 1g gold bar costs £64.90 and the spot price is £41.27 then that is a 57% premium? I have been told to only but if its between 2 and 3%.

U get the 2% when buying 100 grams or more. Somtimes 31g 1 oz coins like maple too if u have a good vendor
