That yellow car is the NSX with a vielside bodykit. Its almost a complete conversion, and does replace the headlights and tailights with different ones. At the scene where they are doing a mountain pass, the cars are
S15, RX7, S15.3, SC300, R33, And the Hero RX8
It's also one of Han's cars apparently.
Yeah, now you say it, the side profile is right!
where did you see the sc300?
First tought it was a Ascari, but looks weird in that 2 seconds shot.
Well heck I got most of that wrong 😂
Its a acura/honda NSX with the veilside body kit (look it up)
That’s definitely it!
Legit thought it was a Saleen S7
definitely an interesting bodykit :3
looks like a ferrari lol
Finally never cld figure out what it was
It looks like a corvette
If I'm not mistaken Neela's RX-8 has the greddy turbo kit. I can speak from experience that yes it does lack responsiveness compared to being NA. It already has a lack of power, adding the turbo does make it fairly faster but the powerband and characteristics are changed.
I've always wondered, what made the RX-8's 13B inferior to the RX-7's (FC & FD)? I somehow have such an impression.
@@yongling9825 It's the times that RX-8 came out, emissions compliance etc. The Renesis is considered the best NA rotary motor, outclassing the 12a and NA 13b. Of course not without its problems, and the only way to make decent power is $$$ and often times it's not worth it.
@@jonathanc1741 So a better way is to take an RX-7's 13B instead? I won't be surprised if it's done before.
@@yongling9825 13B-REW swaps have been done plenty of times along with 3 and 4 rotors.
@@yongling9825 the number on the name of the engine itself is unlucky, so no wonder why mazda named it like that, and prolly the engineers knew it was doomed to fail from the start at any point sooner or later
When referring to the throttle response remember the RX8 is drive by wire from the factory so the car can have a "lazy" throttle. You can re map the throttle response when tuning it to correct this.
People also do this with other cars like the FR-S/BRZ. I did with my old AP2 S2000.
This, but I doubt the movie knows about this haha.
@Understeerking i follow you on ig lol hi 👋

They loved Veilside in this one. The yellow one is a NSX with a Veilside Fortune kit. Their fortune kits totally redid the look of the car. Han’s RX7 had one, and the V12 Top Secret supra had one.
The V12 Supra didn't have a Veilside kit
Isn't it a Saleen S7?
@@AntonisThe it is not a Saleen. In that shot it does resemble an s7 pretty well but that is the veilside fortune nsx. There are pictures of that yellow nsx if u look it up

No, it’s a nsx with a bodykit
Anyone notice the gold Supra in the background at 1:46 that looks a lot like the Slap Jack Supra from 2 Fast 2 Furious, well atleast from the front end.
Most cars from the 1st movie were reused in the 2nd and so in the 3rd from the 2nd that were reused from the 1st, just changing parts and liveries
6:29 - Honestly my favorite 350z body kit. Master grade really killed it.
If I’m correct, the chopper with the nitrous tanks actually doesn’t have nitrous, but rather the tanks were modified to serve the purpose of the fuel tank. I read that somewhere but I don’t remember where.
You probably watched the behind the scenes on the DVD
I always thought that. Probably I did watch the extras on the DVD or saw something similar from some SEMA show video or just presumed it because of the position. Either way... it's weird
4:35 - Absolutely every single one of us has done this at least once. I even did it in my automatic as a kid. I put it in neutral while rolling and revved it and thought that made me look super cool :p
He's rev matching it. Very useful thing to learn especially since after that you can learn to heel and toe it which is pretty much a must learn skill if you want to be as fast and good as you can be.
Seems like a bit low of a speed to need to do it in but I think the rotary likes to be revved allot more than normal piston engines so whatever I guess.😅
@@smartins. he's not shifting he's riding with the clutch in
Heel-toe is only really necessary in racing. You dont need to need to heel-toe on public roads because you can take your time and drive smoothly.
@@kip258 he's engine braking and downshifting
@@geoacuraisuzu why would he be downshifting when he's coming to a stop? Nobody does that, it's not necessary. You clutch from whatever gear your in and go to first or just leave the clutch in if you have enough momentum.
I know the audio is of someone downshifting but this is the same franchise that puts v8 sounds over rotary rx-7s. There's no point to actually be downshifting if you're coming to a stop and he's decelerating so slowly it's clear he's not downshifting in the video footage.
@@kip258 that’s just how some people drive I personally don’t do that but I have friends that do
When Han was going down the street he was down shifting to "engine brake" and slow the car down unlike what other people think is him revving his engine to seem like a cool kid
That’s fine and all, Rev matching is super fun but in that instance seems obnoxious. Sounds good though so I don’t care
Rev matching up to a stoplight, with a broken exhaust got me my first ticket.
The exhaust for that car actually is custom, and the TT kit muted it a lot. Somebody made a video on it a while back but I gotta find it lol I was shocked to find out the Z actually sounds like that and that is not a sound clip
At least it doesn't sound like any typical trombone tuned 350z
There's AWD stageas on the skyline/G35/350Z chassis with the VQ so definitely possible
3:45 - DKs Z had a Nismo turbo kit in it, they produced this sound.
It sounds super weird considering the NA equivalent, but sounds really cool regardless
Definitely not a Nismo Turbo kit. Nismo never made turbokits for the Z. That's a APS twin turbo kit in DK's car
Saw the HiLo show from donut media and they made a 350z sound exactly like this
I run a tomei on my 350z and it sounds nothing like this definitely need a dual exhaust something like motordyne.
@@JS04 I could've sworn Nismo had made the kit, or at least the headers which gave it the sound lol
@@JS04 however, i remember reading about a Nismo kit circa 2004 - I'd say a very rare item, but as far as I remember they used Garrett turbos and designed everything else
A few things I noted from this video:
I'm thinking the "throttle response" line was just random car jargon the writers threw in but it might not be, a rotary engine doesn't make much torque on the low end so unless you're high in the rpms it won't be very responsive. In that since Sean is kinda right as a traditional American crossplane V8 tends to have a lot of low end torque and peak at much lower rpms. Outside of that generality most modern drive by wire throttle bodies lack the responsiveness of old school cables ones on stock ecu tune since the ecu is usually programmed to smooth it out, meaning you step on the throttle and instead of it opening fully that instant it's slightly delayed. Nowadays people use pedal commanders but a good tune will also solve that issue but I think they rolled the dice and got lucky with a line that was just vague enough to work.
I've definitely not been civilized doing unnecessary rev match down shifts before, probably would with a rev happy engine like that RX7 if I were Sean too lol.
Lastly, definently going with the '72 Skyline.
I’d go for the 72 skyline 100% because the corrolla is literally just a.. corolla, a car built for good fuel economy
Well yes it's just a corolla but it's a good drift car and a good time attack car when tuned and it's light weight... But I pick the 72 skyline over an ae86 because the 72 skyline is my favourite
I admit, DK’s 350 sounds weird, but it’s entirely possible to make it sound like that, just yesterday in an autocross there was one making that exact sound, dude was a little slow tho
If I'm not mistaken, Morimotos 350 has a Top Secret body kit on it. Also that yellow car is a NSX with veilside fortune kit.

It's amazing to learn about different cars in this one like that skyline. Good content
2:03 Gald you asked!
ITBs. That's literally the only step you can take with the Renesis. It's factory ram air system is as short as it can get without significant heating issues and it's drive-by-wire.
Rotaries already have really good throttle response and a steady tourqe curve depending on if you haven't gone beyond street porting (most don't in the Renesis)
She just suck at driving Rotaries, anything short of smooth throttle work will make them buck like a bitch until you stop the clutch in and rev match or start over in another gear (depending on speed you'll probably need to downshift which means rev matching is probably mandatory)
I prob mentioned this in previous videos.
you can use the G35X AWD transfer case which should fit onto the CD009 gearbox.
I saw pictures of one guy mock up and fab the adapter plate to mount the transfer case to the gearbox.
140K isnt gonna get you a R34 GTR Skyline anymore. Prices of a base one have gone up even higher. Even the Pants man said the prices are stupid and suggest getting the Stagea 260RS if you want a Skyline like experience in a wagon. The base drivetrain was based on the R33 GTR.
No amount of ECU tuning is gonna fix the RX-8 engine issues.
As Rob Dahm pointed out. The engine was heavily restricted due to emission standards. The RX-7 didnt suffer the lack of throttle response since the throttle is cable driven.
The correct term ppl do to rotary engines is doing porting of the housing ports.
There are street ports, bridge port aka eye brow porting and the semi peripheral porting and finally full peripheral porting like what the 4 rotor engine had in the Mazda 787B.
Dustins Evo was the orginal Evo that what was copied to make all the movie Evos. The OG Evo is still AWD. While the movies cars are converted to RWD by removing the front diff. Engines are mostly stock
The Veilside kits were sourced directly from Japan Veilside headquaters and Craig flew all the way to Japan to get the parts for the 350Z and RX-7.
The price for the Veilside kit for the RX-7 is like 22k excluding shipping and labor for installing.
350Z one is like close to 13k minus shipping and labor as well.
There are def gonna be cheap knock offs that can be had for cheaper price. You are paying JDM taxes for parts from Japan. And some cases the quality of the actual product isnt much to be desired esp fitment.
It's not just "JDM tax, because we can," shipping large items is legitimately expensive.
8:31 based on I remember, both 350z's feature a TOP SECRET widebody kit but on Morimoto however had a 'TOP SECRET Super G-Force Lonenose' bodykit and Tea Hair's Z on the other hand also had a TOP SECRET version 1 bodykit for the z33 (without the canards) which would probably the reason why they both had a same identical hood & wing
2:05
Afaik the usual intake/exhaust/tune can help throttle response on a rotary, as is making the internals of the rotary lighter like a piston engine car.
Yeah, Dustin has one of the only last remaining ones that a tuning company had for years but it was in poor shape when he bought it from them. Legends
I never noticed the Signal Auto R34 until now, that is flippin' cool.
I can’t remember if Sean or Craig first pointed it out to me
Yea she’s Australian. That’s where she comes from but I don’t remember if she ACTUALLY told Shawn
Throttle response in a rx8 would be fly by wire throttle body. So it would just be a matter of tuning it's action to come on a little sooner. It's basically what a pedal controller does these days...it intercepts the throttle signal and alters it. Back then though it would need an ecu tune through the obd2 port.
The Deleted evo scene was Sean pulling up and getting out of the car and saying “I got a job.. doing deliveries” and the dad is like well okay then
A delivery driver with a roll cage 😂 I love a work vehicle like that
The gtt question just get the 6 speed swap for the gtr. A few different parts but it pretty common and can run in rear wheel drive no worries. Gtt is only rear wheel drive but it does have 4wheel steer.
Use to own one back when I was 22. Had a diff locker and about 350hp was a lot of fun. I had the 5 speed though which to be honest isn't that bad 3rd gear is very long.
The 6 speed swap from the gtr they can run it in rear wheel drive only. People do the entire 4wd driveline conversions too but not as popular these days due to cost.
The yellow car is an NSX with a Veilside Body Kit
Regarding the 350Z "AWD" nope, no 350Z is AWD, you would have to go custom or pinch it from a Q50 which is alot of work to install already.
7:17 and onward: i just realized that's daikoku PA where the RX8's were parked.
and in the night tandem, that FD was a formula d car driven by tony angelo at the time and that orange S13(180SX) was one of 2 signal auto demo cars. signal auto had a US branch in socal at the time so it would make sense for one of their cars to be in that kind of scene

0:25, personally, I still prefer the Blackbird GTR over the Signal Auto GTR because the C-West bodykit just seems to fit the car better in my opinion.
350z usually has a Ballance tube or x, the exhaust gets close together where it routes thru the trans tunnel. But the sound could be affected by many things, diameter, and type of tubing,( thick aluminized steel, stainless, titanium) all sound different
if you wanna make the Z sound like a Subaru you just need to swap in an i4 and weld the headers to have the exact lengths a subaru has.

The 350z featured at 8:23 is owned by a character named “Tea Hair”. I don’t remember Tea Hair ever showing up in the movie but I wouldn’t be surprised if he was just one of DK’s henchmen that is featured in some of the scenes in the back room/ Hans garage.
Tea Hair and someone else was chasing Han through the halls in the garage during the chase scene. They didn't make it back to their cars afterwards but showed up again downhill at the finish line during the last race with the 350z still.
4:35 if you’re talking about how high he’s reving it, from what I’ve heard you have to rev an rx7 at higher rpms when shifting
The car that you were confused whether it was an s13 or an r32 is a Sileighty which is an 180sx with a s13 front end because of the 180sx chassis being identical to the s13 it was cheaper to put on static headlights than it was to replace pop-ups hence the Sileighty was born and then in 1998 Nissan actually released a production version of the Sileighty ( it's said like Sil "for silvia" eighty "for 180sx")
That orange car that was in the scene where they were drifting on the Touge that was in front of the R33 was a sil80. And I'm pretty sure the R33 was a GTST which would make sense as to why it's drifting so easily.
The yellow car you wanted to know about is a Honda NSX with a Veilside bodykit when i was a kid i didnt know what it was either
if I remember correctly its a throttle by wire so changing the map of the throttle specifically could help
The actress of Neela (Nathalie Kelley) was born in Peru and moved to Australia at the age of 3.
I did the research about the 350z so it has an hks dual exit exaust system, hks intake, flow kinetix manifold and nismo headers
On an rx8 you would change the throttle response to change the throttle response (drive by wire). That's it.
Dk's 350z has a veilside kit, miromotos and the other have top secret kits
I'm willing to bet that the 86 Corolla is basically a nod to initial d to that bad ass 86 with high rev racing engine
As someone whos been riding motorcycles for years, that custom chopper with the duel nitrous cans would kill you straight up. As soon as you hit the button that thing would high side you into next month. The reason roll bikes that are either turbo'd or have a nitrous kit have an extended swing arm and are lowered is to keep the front wheel down from all the torque and even then sometimes the front wheel comes up. That bike has none of that
5:20 Love the AE86 but I'd have to go with the 72 Hakosuka. Even as an investment and value comparison. Even though the AE86 is expensive a Hakosuka is way more pricey.
Lol in a car with an electronic throttle pedal, the signal can be turned up with a pedalcommander. Thats excluding factors like turbo lag etc
That is a S13 180 on the touge w a s15 face. It's quite a famous car, at least back in the day. A Signal Auto drift s13.5, I think the driver's name is Kamoto (Drifter X) something like that.
4:45 i think it’s just downshifting but if you know you’re about to come to a stop you could just throw it in neutral lol
You should make a video on how to make your car sound like the mona lisa s15 in real life
A V8 N/A has good response, good torque.. the FD rx7 is turbo so it needs to get on boost, once on boost it's fast.. the rx8 just a 1.3 liter motor.. so it has very little torque down low.. so the statement does fit and they are good drivers cars because they are balanced and light and the high revving makes it a better experience.... Also if you check the behind the scenes videos on the filming, Dk's car has a twin turbo kit and the way they designed the kit, made it sound like that. You can hear the real audio on the behind the scenes.
Telling Sean about her past later on, I believe she does says that she and her mom moved from Australia when she was 10.

72 skyline if it's a kpgc10 it'd be worth about 20x as much as an ae86... But recently maybe it's 10x or so. Still shitty betting odds for Han, which is brilliant writing, if the implied odds are intended - dk isn't into a wager unless the odds are in his favor. Han still plays along as he still wants his "50% of something" and play stupid games and be a good sport. If he can afford his monalisa he can easily build an AE86 himself.
Tbh the V8 comment Sean had about her throttle response. Most likely stems from you wouldn't need turbo's if you had a V8 to make power. Turbo's kill throttle response compared to natural aspiration. And a little 1.3 rotary needs a turbo to make any sort of decent power.
The yellow car with those tail lights is a Veil Side NSX
The green one infront of the rx8 its a 240sx rigth?
Point 1, no civilized person downshifts without rev matching.
Point 2, rotary's love to be revved high so redlining the rx7 isn't an issue.
Point 3, the skyline didn't just merge, it downshifted and floored it, thus it was showing off.
Point 4, the Tokyo expressway is no normal highway. If I had an rx7 and an R34 did that to me on the Tokyo expressway I would punch the throttle so hard that the car would enter another dimension.
This comment made me smile, fair enough lol
That was the plan 😂
No awd 350z transmission. Cheap way out for you would be a R32-R33 5 speed awd transmission. Cheapest version would be found in a Stagea RS4S.

Must pay to get the R34 Getrag then. That's the only 6 speed manual in existence that has 2 output ports, with the forward facing output on the right hand side (driver's side of a jdm car) of the vehicle.
