Make more spectating videos. Watching you just play OW every day gets boring. It's always the same thing, and we all deal with that enough as it is in our own games. It's nice hearing you talk about stuff in this, instead of just "SHOOT THE TRACER! TRACER TRACER TRACER, GOT HER, MONKEY MONKEY MONKEY"
It gets old.
I can see the difference between Emongg and Flats when there coaching, Flats is more of a "im not gonna sugarcoat it" and tells you straight to your face while Emongg goes for the more "what value would your ability have if you would have used it" and they both go in depth, just in different ways
Also, this bread guy does the same thing as me, he's always constantly jumping around and making it harder for him and enemies to hit him
it's easyer to get hit when ur midjump
The main difference besides what you said is that Flats started this vod stuff with the idea of roasting people, it says so in the discord description.
Emongg does it because it makes cool content and he's nice enough to give advice during it.

It’s crazy to me that 90% of the time when they burrow they immediately just charge jump out. Not even moving around or looking for a better opportunity.

As an aspiring venture main I actually didn't drill dash underground except to rush outta spawn faster cuz I thought the damage on it was negligible, but this is helping me get the more utility aspect of it, nice
it does what like 20 dmg? which is negligible by itself, BUT, it also applies the dps passive to a, possibly, wide group of enemies since it's hitbox is massive, and it has a substantial boop which can disorient people.
And it gives shield, so when you pop out you're safer.
I believe it's 5 DMG. But it applies the passive and it boops + it's just free value to use burrow to drill immediately because you can get the drill back by the end of burrow and it pressures the enemy team to not ignore you while allowing your team to push it when you're charging. It's pretty easy to follow up with Ven @@Wrath31590

This is why I get so confused on how to get good on a character in ow2. I look at one guide that says to use ventures burrow to leave/disengage from a fight and use drill to engage while flats is say to use burrow and drill to engage, Its confusing sometimes
You gotta find t500/gm players who make the vids. I usually go into a t500 streamers twitch live and ask the chat which channels they would recommend for a certain character. I get good answers and if someone recommends a bad player the rest of chat will point it out
Stop listening to guides and play the game. Fail, adapt, find what works for you and your playstyle.
The overwhelming majority of supposed guides are basically trash and put out by players somewhere between Masters and Gold, especially for any new or recently changed hero or meta. Actual high level players compare playing adventure to playing half health ball or old doomfist for a reason. You either position evasively in the first place and just shoot things and take zero damage back or you use buttons to hard commit for a kill so you don't need to run away.
You won't learn a thing reading a guide! You need to play the character to get used to it.
It’s not cute and try usually you want to engage sometimes you’ll need to disengage. The trick of being good is picking the right move more often then not.

Not gonna lie I also didn't do the drill underground + dash combo that much, I should make a habit of doing that. I figured it'd be like committing too much with Doom but yeah.
nope, just use your dash right after burrowing and burroe the whole duration, think of it like reaper fade, where you rarely ever cancel it early
I figured it out pretty fast on day one before watching any videos and I barley even play the game, it’s just common sense

I honestly didn’t have much, if any trouble learning venture. Their play-style clicked for me in my first couple matches and now I main them on DPS. I think it’s because I used to main DPS Doom back in OW1, and cause venture is basically DPS Doom 2.0 everything about how they play just makes sense to me, I even picked up on most of the tech flats is talking about on my own.

In the first few minutes I was thinking "huh, they're playing pretty similar to my venture in diamond 2, wonder why they're stuck??" Proceeds to jump off the map by accident 😳, you can even see the panic shake of their mouse 🤣
That looked intentional to me, they had to hop over the ledge to do it. I assumed they were just memeing with their friend. But with how much this person spams jump and their map awareness, yeah it probably was an accident.

i've played with a low masters named frosty, dude was such a little shitter and started blatantly throwing after being called out for focusing too hard on DPSing while on support.
I just played a game where both my supports were too focused on dpsing and I was behind a corner letting auto heal do it's thing for half the game. My Moira actually switched to Mercy and shot nonstop without healing at all and the other support left the game near the end
I wish they would use ai in their rank system and put these people in their own games

Man this had me playing more comp tonight and let me tell you.

I am not exactly great, or even good. But I'm really not sure how decent I can be when I'm watching shots phase through enemies. When my Invuln abilities are active on my screen, but the kill came of the person who killed me saw nothing of it.
This game is sometimes so hard to play and it feels like the server-client connections are about 40% of what's keeping me from enjoying this game and trying to improve further.
The other 60% is god aweful see-saw balancing (about 5%) and 55% players who I think really should not be allowed anywhere outside of the training room.
I think the thing with drill dash is that at first, even for me it looked useless, bad damage, and though it had the same cooldown. Now I know that it has half cool down so I use it more often. Just some food for though

I'd like to submit a replay to flats one day in the hopes it gets reviewed but last time I played comp was season 3 of ow1 where I placed gold 1 then immediately stopped; trying again now and hoping to improve and at least hit diamond

i play venture extremely different than your advice and this but usually take solo Gravitons to the face. From my experience the dash really should only used to isolate someone and guarantee a kill or force the enemy tank into ur team. The one-shot is only applicable to tracer and widow because in low ranks typically supports just preheal tanks or their duo because they are unaware so you need your cooldowns to get to get health packs.
7:35 can we stop calling high burst damage 1 shots. 1 shots are a very specific thing. 1 button press = death. The only true one shot is widow scoped in and ults like tire, bomb, doom ult center etc. is cass tapping your head 2 times a one shot? No, so why is venture using 4 buttons a 1 shot. It’s better to say insta kill you couldn’t react to it. Even junkrat had to press 3 buttons to get his insta kill and people called that a one shot. It just takes away from the fact that true one shots, outside of ults, are too oppressive. Even 2 shots are a bit boring to deal with if there is very little counterplay.
I think the one time this person landed two shots in a row is when they barrel stuff them and shoot the floor

When your game sense and mechanics are so silver that the perma jumping is not even a mentionable offense.
Spend literally half an hour in VAXTA and rebind jump to a different key and you'll climb to gold EASY.
This applies to everyone though, not just this venture.

I have a real question, what do i do after capturing a point? I usually just find myself standing around.
Depends on which character you’re playing, for short range heroes just set up in a position for the next fight, longer range heroes you should go out and look to do some damage before the fight starts, and reposition later

On the mechanical side, it also looks like this person's sensitivity is way too high. They either dont move their screen or they over-shoot their target, sometimes so badly they lose sight all together.

His skill is the same thing you get in gold1 Plat 5 the rank system does a piss poor job at evaluating player skill it's all win loss based half the player base in these ranks have either been hard boosted by lucky teams or rode the extremely overtuned heros to higher ranksm

God, yeah, if I was in that game and saw the range was Silver to Master, I'd treat it like QP too. Like, for every good play this Venture did, it was undercut by a time they were just goofing off. At least when his buddy jumped off the map it was for a pretty cool Coal shot. This Venture just ended up looking silly all game.
My aim as a bit better but not fantastic either, besides playing more what's a good way to aim train

It’s kinda funny cause I’ve been told I’m mechanically sound and just need to get better game sense to climb. (76/Souj that consistently hits around 40-50% of shots) But as a Silver 3 seeing a guy that can’t even aim being silver 1 is insaneeeeeeeeee
