useless tips for reaper:
1. u can 1v1 bob if u shoot in his face
2. reload animation doesnt reload faster but extra damage
3. before u tp, use other voice line so that the tp sound will be smaller

So excited to watch this as a Reaper main. I recently hit my peak of M3 only by playing Reaper, and all it took was mindset changes and not expecting much if anything at all from my teammates. However, now I am a bit stuck and feel like I need to watch you do this to see what I can get from it as I've been loving other content of yours I've been seeing.

I'm profiting in GM. Honestly, it's less about mechanics with Reaper and all about gamesense and decision making. So the only way to get better at him is by playing more with the mentality of asking questions (ignore teammate performance like this guy) and think about what you can do better each time.
I have learned to play him well against even pharahs. I have over 1k hours on him. Trick is to pay attention to where she's flying. You can teleport to high points she hovers near and get good burst damage on her either killing her or forcing her to run.

Great explanations and teaching for reaper. Thank you for sharing this. Usually i am not a fan of the smurfing or ranking from low to high as a higher ranked player etc(lluckily most skip majority of the lower ranks) but considering where they placed and how useful and informative the video is, it is an outlier to most of them and welcomed.

One of the best Reaper tuto out there, I reached high diamond with Reaper by playing him moslty like an aggressiv frontliner but I struggle a lot everytime I have no Zarya or Lucio on my team, the flanker playstyle is much more powerfull and I feel I can maybe reach high master with this level of play.
The "Damage" category was never called "DPS" in Overwatch's history. It used to be split into two categories, "offense" and "defense", but were merged into one category, which has been called "damage" since it's inception.
DPS just means Damage Per Second, which is a term used often in gaming. It's just faster to say.

We always enjoyed comp and we never really climbed out of low bronze and silver. Today, I got into gold for the first time in my Overwatch history, I was ecstatic and just wanted to say thanks for your lessons. Really has made a difference!

Tried this, but it doesn't work as well in lower ranks. Biggest issue is that people just don't fight at the same time and everything is super staggered. Second problem I ran into is that my team often follows me when I try to get an off-angle.

It's funny because a lot of these tips can also apply to Winston. Letting a tank make contact by passing by a choke unaware of where you are then bubbling them off from supports/dps. Not using Leap to always engage but often to disengage. Using right click to poke and always doing damage. Obviously it's a bit different but also funnily similar in a way.

i've been doing half of the steps u take, and with this video it made me realise i'm still not fully utilising what you are doing, so thank you for showing the way.
a quick question: i'm in silver now, nowhere near the top - and im having trouble with the 'flyers', pharah and mercy - should i then focus on those enemies on the ground and get them whenever i can?

Im a reaper one trick and most of the time dealing with pharmacy is not your job and killing the second supp becoums easier when they play pharmcey.. but i found the seting up on high ground and surprising the pharah with damage works allot of the time because her hitbox is massive

Most likely I would imagine but just my guess.
i realize this is a bit late, but starting in masters on DPS also happened to me on a fresh acc with no comp time, i think the system is just better at detecting what skill level you are from quick play

Do you think you'd ever do one of these with genji? I feel like its a playstyle you haven't really covered in your U2GMs and a bit harder than other flankers since he doesn't really have a "get out of jail free card" like tracer or reaper. As always, hope you're staying safe.
genji has a ton of escape options, the dash is one of you "get out of jail free card" as long as you're able to secure the kill. i think the mistake that most average genji players make is dashing in to fight rather than using dash to secure the kill. you should treat his dash like a reaper wraith as well unless you are absolutely confident that you can kill the person you are fighting with the dash and get out.

Reaper is my favorite dps, and you're educational stream helped me a lot!
Please do another one. We need to see how u deal with teammates who don’t heal or engage and u have to carry the whole team. How to deal with turrets and bastion playing with a dva who eats all your dmg. Or when your 4 steps need to be adjusted because of team comp and why and what they are going to be. This is not enough info.
I think his point was that no matter the scenario you’ll have to make small tweaks to your gameplan but realistically you always stick to the same plan. For turrets probably call them out to your team

Being able to cancel Reaper ult would be a good change in my opinion with all the power creep since the game launched. There were few situations where you could of used his ult without the high risk of being punished from what I've seen in your first game.
Canceling would enable Reaper players to quickly use another cooldown when in danger.
I agree, like they did with Roadhog.
Am I tripping (I don't play him) or can't hog shoot and then stop and then shoot whenever he wants in a certain amount of time? Wouldn't that look and feel quite strange on reaper?

To me reaper is the least cheesy tank killer. Bastion is busted right now, and sombra has always been a little cheesy but she’s gotten better i think. Excited to watch this
