Nice build - its nice that you get the low health damage bonus at just under 50% to avoid that annoying red glow. Unfortunately it doesn't activate low health def, so you have to be careful here because basically any attack will one shot you. 😂
In his April video build he says to use the Defy Death Valor Surge to compensate for this.
If you have low health defense just lower your health to 25%. It is better for your actual resistance

The red aura is worth it for the damage resistance and above all never having to fuck around with berries and health potions again since auto-heal sorts it out.
@@Spikklubba I don't really agree personally, Forbidden West is one of the best looking games available on any platform, and the constant ugly red glow around the screen really ruins the aesthetics for me and hurts the experience. Just my opinion but I prefer other builds that don't utilize the low health advantage.

Thought this was a joke till I got to the halfway point.
For clarification. You do not have to go to that particular vendor. When you start a New Game+, you will receive Champion’s tokens when we complete quest. You need 10 Champion’s to buy Iriv’s Downfall. You do to the nearest vendor and purchase the bow.

if there was EVER a game where you should absolutely not play the sequel first, its horizon. LOL. the story has a DRASTICALLY different impact if youre coming into it fresh out of zero dawn. the first time i saw the zeniths and the elisibet clone walk into the proving lab i was fucking SHOOK. that scene would mean almost nothing if you didnt play the first game lol

The nice thing is the new elemental warrior bow with the 5 elite frost coils, cheaper to use, and all the volatile sludge that would have been used with the sun scourge can now go to elite precision arrows for stuff like this. Also, the new sharpshot bow is cool and all but after usage I've come to just default back to Iriv's, the perks are just better there (and looks better 😅)
Yea I was just using the rain of sparks anyways as sun scourge is not needed anymore and the new sharp shot bow is not that strong at all
Sun scourge is still useful for long distance frost arrows.
@@lordaim probably but now that you mention it and I think about it, I never really used it long distance either, so the change to the new warrior bow is more than welcome 😂

Now this is more up my alley! I absolutely LOVE using Sharpshot bows from stealth as I very much enjoy a stealthy playstyle! I do wish Smoke Bomb crafting was a bit cheaper tho as they are somewhat expensive to craft.

@@iamergoproxy3476 Oh hell thats not too bad as long as yer not spamming em. Maybe limit em to 1 per battle & only ones where u know ull make some good shards. I couldn't remember them even being sold anywhere. I thought u HAD to craft them? Its been a lil while now so I can't remember for sure.
@skins4thewin crafting them uses parts we would need for weapon ammo and I mean the rare parts from mid to high level machines. The way I use the bombs is to break LOS if a thunderjaw spots me after I pick off its disc launchers

You could get even more damage with the tenakth tactitian armor, with low health range and stealth range weaves, and get on your mount right after entering valor surge and triggering your smoke bomb. Also sharpshot bow will overdraw much faster while mounting
No need for more damage - it's already a 1 shot on most machines, it's not worth the clumsiness and/or management of the mount to add more damage. I'd rather have the valor bonuses than the mounted archer bonuses. Just my take!
@@mcarr416ix understandable, my point was just to do max damage. Once you get use to it, using a mount isn't all that terrible. I've dedicated a whole build for crit/mount, using iriv's downfall, the blast forge and rain of spark. The bolt blaster is especially effective while on mount bc you stay very mobile, you can reload while running at full speed and fully draw is super fast. It doesn't deal as much damage but it took down large machines the fastest even without using valor surge, so very versatile
@@vr6volkspower fair enough - you can also just eat the food that gives +3 to mounted archer, then no need to swap to Tactician and you still get to keep those valor buffs 🙃 I've basically stopped using the Boltblaster at this point, feels unnecessary now with how much damage the sharpshot bow does. It's still useful of course for specific scenarios like arena or cauldrons but I'm not really working on any of those anymore.

Wow these number are crazy...but I just can't pull of the arena jumps...guess I have to do another playtrough for some more "elite critical hit chance" otherwise it won't get such high numbers...6500 was my highest so far 😩
I havent actually used my duped coils yet (trying to keep it mostly "fair" for the machines), but it took me a good 30 minutes to get my first arena escape down. After that one though, i've gotten a couple in just a few minutes. My biggest issue is the first jump onto the beams.
@@Darqion i have played the game over 150h, 2 walk through medium/very hard NG+...so the only reason I'm still playing it is the high numbers...i guess I'll just do an another quick play trough since i only made it to the upper right podest 1 time in the arena but could not get out without falling down 😞 so just for the OP fun I'll keep on trying but I'm not 100% sure if I'm motivated enough
Okay, I played trough today for (4 hours) to get 2 more critical hits chances...i did the same strat like in the video at 3:45 but with tenakth vanquisher...the highest number i was able to achieve so far was - 13K - 🤔 but I'm happy so far...
One of the best videogames I have ever played.

Warrior Bow with Ice arrows + 5 Instant Brittle Chance coils
+
Warrior Bow with the Normal arrow that does the most base damage with critical hit chances
Weapon Stamina + Low Health Range
Use spread shot (5 arrows at the same time)
= Easiest kills, against literally any machine, while wasting a FRACTION of the resources. Forget about using Expensive Iriv's Downfall arrows, but truth be told, it's really fun using Sharpshot bows instead of spamming the Warrior Bows all the time, but hey, it works.

Either do several NG+ runs or do the new arena escape on the stormy weather challenge to do the old dupe glitch to stack them up

Will powershots do more damage? It'll also save crafting those expensive arrows, and you won't have to worry about the healing either.

Hello, a noob here. How do you do the extra zoom with sharpshoot bow (focused shot)? i have learn it and description says l2+r1, but that activates the explosion shot even when having concentration on (r3). Are they incompatible or skill description i have is wrong/not complete?

While selecting the weapon you can press left and right on the direction buttons to use different weapon techniques. Make sure you have the correct one selected

Best Bow, how about the Sun Scourge? How much do you have to play to upgrade all the equipment? Am I the only one who doesn't use special skills?
I have about 100 hours in the game and I have fully upgraded 3 different legendary armours as well as fully upgraded like 7 different weapons, I also have every skill including the DLC skills.
What I am trying to get at is it takes a decent amount of time to get gear upgraded. You also need a lot of luck in order to get the right machines to be the apex type because some of them are really hard to find in the apex form.
I'd guess a lot of this gear is only available @ NG+?

How did you get 5 crit coils?
I'm still playing HFW currently but noticed Aloy's level being 119-120. Isn't there are level cap? I was reading around and it was supposed to be 50 with just the main game and 60 with the Burning Shores DLC.
After level 60 you gain ghost levels. I'm not sure if there is a limit to the ghost levels though. These don't provide any benefits as far as skill points and health.
Smoke bombs are too overpowered.
I played the first game but if difficulty works in same way, this is not ultra hard where damage is one fifth of the story. Damage is quite good regardless indicating new game plus equipment

Where do you acquire the stealth ranged +2 coil? I googled it but cannot find anything about it.
Check through the armors in your inventory, when leveling them up they all come equipped with a weave. I think the stealth ranged +2 comes from Utaru Winterweave

The only issue is that you lose out on all the parts cuz you don't take anything off before killing it

Theres a food that gives you +3 to mounted archer as well...so you can potentially stack another 50% damage on top of this 😂 its a little time consuming to setup though.

We're buy elite critical shot coils from in game for bow
I can't get multiple copies of elite coils as i couldn't jump like in the glitch video, so i just pop in the bow 1 elite crit hits, and the rest are very rare Crit chances, but i could never get to 10k damage, only around 4k (my gears all maxed out, legendary), I hit them at weak spot, too. It's kinda frustrating as I don't know the real cause of it. Can u explain pls Gamer JayZ?
Something weird going on because I also cannot come close to replicating this damage - even with the 5 elite critical coils. I can set up the exact identical strategy here with a Thunderjaw and my Crit to it's heart with Irv's does not come anywhere close to the damage in this video.

Late but same question. I remember doing multiple new game plus on the non elite purple coils for base game. Might do this glitch for the elite dlc coils as I don’t want to do multiple new game plus again for it.

I think Defy Death is still better option here over Ranged Master - Ranged Master is too quick to take you out of low health state with the heals. Theres only a 10% difference in the damage, but if you losing your low health def bonus on first shot, and depending where your health is at going in you could lose the massive damage bonus too after that first shot.
Do we know the numbers of a regular overdrawn ranged elite arrow vs Focused Shot? The description of Focus Shot says it applies a damage bonus but its unclear what that bonus is. If your using Focus Shot your losing the 25% Overdraw damage perk on the bow. Not sure sure which is ideal, hard to tell with testing.
Edit: did a bit more testing and i do believe that Focused Shot is doing more than a regular Overdrawn arrow is so that seems to be the best option.
@@paristeta5483 man, it's always really hard to follow what you are saying...are you proposing that all the buffs from perks on Irv's Downfall are being lumped together into 1 damage multiplier? Overdraw, Concentration,.Crit Damage - the damage perks on Irv's
@@mcarr416ix Critical Damage is a separated Multiplier.
So for an overdraw shot from Irvis you have the 306 Arrow damage + 25% Overdraw +15% COncentration. Would look something like this :
"306 x ( 1+0,25+0,15) " short this becomes "306 x 1,4"
if the hit woudl be a critical hit it would like this:
"306 x 1,4 x 2,75"
Many many other Buffs (Agility, Low Health Ranged, Stealth Damage etc.) Would be added to the "1,4 " Multiplier. So for Low Health Ranged Level 4 is 80% so it would look like:
"306 x (1+0,25+0,15+0,8)" or short" 306 x 2,2"
@@paristeta5483 this makes sense - when using Focused Shot you are losing the overdraw buff, so it's better to use Focused Shot or it's better to use an overdrawn regular arrow? I'm not able to replicate the damage in this video even with identical setup and execution.

Mhh strange, are you on UH too? Sometimes damage numbers get locked to a multiplier or maxium health of the machine, so if you are sub-UH, damage number could be lower.
@@paristeta5483 yeah this could be it if that's the case, I've been farming resources at lower difficulty. I'll have to check once I get back on Ultra Hard to see if the numbers change.
But Iriv's Downfall is available only in New Game+ mode, am I right?
