The worst thing is that family, employers and peers just don’t believe me when I say I’m chronically ill. I look young and healthy so they think I’m exaggerating and being dramatic. That’s the hardest thing for me to accept at this point now that I’ve accepted that I won’t get better.

I am in a similar boat. You’re not alone.
I’ve had to tell myself often that just because they don’t believe me, doesn’t make my condition any less real or valid. And to be completely honest, even when people believe me, they can’t understand the extent of what I go through.
And that is okay. I know it’s real. I feel it everyday. I’m in control of making sure I do the things I need to feel my best and I’m in control of doing the things that will make me feel worse.
Having the mindset that I’m still in control has been helpful.
I hope sharing that helps you as well💖

Same here. People often tell me I’m lazy, not trying, “just anxious”, not “doing enough”, that they are not proud of me, that I am immature or not enough. It’s brutal. The loneliness is excruciating.

This was helpful to hear, and I think I needed that today 😊. I think what prevents me from having an optimistic mindset sometimes is the fear of the future. Mostly the fear of financial instability as I can’t work because of my illness... Can anyone else relate? Thanks for this video, and yes a podcast would be great! 😊

I can relate! I’m desperately trying to find jobs I can do or try to find out more info on disability because lack of money! It’s hard. Best of luck to you!

Yes! Fear of the future is what I coach so many of my clients on. I will do an episode on this!

I agree. The thing that's making me lose hope sometimes is my finances. I haven't been able to work at all since 2014 and I never know if I will have an income. I only know for 6 months at the time at the most and then there is a gap when every thing is very unsure. I live in Sweden and the system for people that are sick and/or disabled isn't working well here even though everyone that works pay for this insurance. If you're get lucky to get approved for permanent money every month from Försäkringskassan it's usually not enough to live on and it's really hard to get it approved, especially when there is no test or treatment for ME.

@@Aimee_Esther I think it would be apappreciated of you can talk about the finacial pressure and the stress that can put on us.

Yes absolutely my fear too! I used to be able to work 40+ hours before my chronic illness! Now I can barely work 20 hours from home on the computer.

  • @thereseastrom195
    @thereseastrom195 Před 3 lety +4

I'm thinking in a similar way. I have hope but I think that you have to accept the reality here and now, adjust and make the most out of your life. Easier said than done, I know. It's taken me a long time. We can't stop living in hope for a cure or fear for the future. It doesn't mean we lost all hope.
I tried everything and was almost obsessed to find a cure in the beginning. It took a lot of energy and money I didn't have. I actually got better by letting go of that obsession to get back to 100% health. I take one day at the time and do the best I can. I use my energy to eat as healty as I can and exercise (move) as much as my body tolerates that day. I also use some of my daily energy to do things that makes me feel happy. If you're always chasing a cure you forget to live life. I still forget that sometimes and that's ok.
I learned to accept that sometimes you don't feel well and it's ok to just be in that state. You have to let yourself be sad, feel low and out of hope, it's part of life and the process to heal. But it's not good to get stuck in that state for to long because then life will pass you by.

I don’t usually listen to Podcasts. It’s really difficult to concentrate on a Podcast. If I have intentionally gone to CZcams I’m able to see and hear and it helps me concentrate.

You have been in this longer and you encourage me. I still plan to do things I probably shouldn't at 45 with this even with the awareness of consequences- then I find a balance of sorts and Do It! Tweak the next based on what I learned. Same with supplement mixes or tools that help. I'm left only with a few of each now. And YES PODCAST, YES on More of THESE TOPICS!! You gotta read mother culture btw. ❤

I just wondered if you’d ever looked into whether you have parasites? They create a range of similar symptoms that you have blogged about. Xxx
I also don’t think anyone can judge others, you may look well but be a very ill person. Take care of you xxx
