We chefs pay premium for these produce with most coming from eu after being sold by uk export. Relishing the thought of the uk market on fish soon as a result of abundance in stock, the food I can start putting on menu knowing its uk fished from our waters is going to be a honor to our fishing industry. Obviously, we are subject to those rules now if we want to export into the EU as we are no longer a member. But, for argument's sake, let's say that the EU did move the goalposts, that they did change the rules, why would that matter to the UK. That's not a matter for the UK decide as the EU is free to do that without the UK'S approval, in the same way that we can now change our rules without the EU'S approval. so much nonsense in 2:54, uncountable. Get your facts right first, then trace where it had gone wrong and change it. Blaming again the EU is stupid, one has to start to accept the consequences of their own decisions and mistakes to change for the better. If that does not happen, no improvement will be possible.

Nonsense. All that is required is for the shellfish to be processed (depurated) and the EU will accept imports. It's just a matter of a little investment and some more UK jobs which I'm sure the UK government will provide, oh, and some compensation for the fisherman too.

I somehow doubt purification facilities exist in each part of the EU, so purified shellfish must be transported all over the EU. The main problem facing UK fishermen is the covid closure of UK restaurants. Potentiality, the UK is a substantial market that will pick-up and adapt. In 2018 the UK actually imported 228.7 thousand tons of fish from the EU, 32.4 thousand tons of which were shellfish.

I don't know why people actually want to eat them, after reading about the dangers of untreated shellfish.
The three main categories of shellfish poisoning include paralytic shellfish poisoning (PSP), amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP) and diarrhetic shellfish poisoning (DSP). These conditions are caused by toxins that can accumulate in bivalves, causing neurological, gastrointestinal and respiratory symptoms that can even be fatal in extreme cases.
