The missing part is about charging the battery. Does the battery get self charged when the vehicle runs on petrol, or does it need to be removed and recharged in the house? What capacity and type ( maintained or non maintained) battery is to be used?

Definitely seems like a removable one since it was put in the storage space and connected from there. But I doubt it would self-charge.

Some other improvement: when vehicle is running on petrol arrangement can be made to recharge the battery while vehicle is running. However extreme precautions are necessary when battery and petrol tank are nearby to each other. Chances of over spilling of petrol and short circuit of current are the two dangers. Care and special arrangements are required.
This will be fantastic if it can happen. it will solve the problem of recharge to a great extent. I am using all electric scooty since 3 years, but at times i have felt necessity of a hybrid version.
What if instead of putting battery in dicky one can put it on leg space & than covered with thick mat. But charging the battery with running tyre is it possible?

That's too much for 150cc activa engine as the drag from the hub motor would be too much (magneto effect) for the engine. It would be as if you are pulling a huge load. And also most of the companies use regeneration for braking as regeneration stiffens the motor so much that it starts braking effect.
Didn't know hub motor can be fitted to normal wheels. Amazing conversion. Govt should allow these kind of conversions and make the legalizing procedure easier for everyone.
It won't work as it's still plug in and they don't have idea of independent charging

Based on the "R n D" done by "Honda" in designing and working of Activa it is recommended not to convert Activa into "Hybrid". Rather it is suggested as below, if you want an electric vehicle.......
"You better modify it to a complete electric vehicle(by removing the entire petrol based engine and its components) or remain it as such manufactured by the manufacturer".
But do not run it Hybrid(with both petrol and battery based).
This is because the dynamics of this two wheeler are developed in such a way that it is operable only over a fuel based design.
Or else, if you still want to opt for an electric vehicle I recomend you better use an Activa which has been used for at least 10 years(old and used) but only after converting it into a complete electric scooter and after removal exesting petrol based engine and supporting parts.
There is also another disadvantage i.e., whatever modification you make requires Government approval or else you will lose all insurance benefits and end up paying fines and traffic challans ......!!!!!!!

That would create more resistance hence dropping the efficiency of patrol engine.
If you do auto recharge battery in petrol mode, then petrol milage will be dropped.. One thing we can do, when ever we use brake then auto recharge battery option, but even after this only 5 - 8 perfect of the battery 🔋will get charged.. So it is not useful..

1.fitting an alternator to charge the battery when using ICE .

When RPM of wheel will increase,engine will engage to wheel through CVT drive and piston will reciprocate continuously. If so, then mechanical lose will be there by unnecessary compression of air inside cylinder.
So , my query is how it will be by pass when shifting to electric side.
No bro if engine works the cvt drive works but in case wheels is running by external source the cvt drive is still constant becoz cvt drive is only works when engine is On

Bro i have a question.. when we are using this system on petrol is there any means to charge the battery using the alternator which is already pre-installed in the engine?
Alternator generates somewhere between 13-16 volts and that's only sufficient to charge the stock battery of activa Or any other scooter. To charge a very high ampere battery it requires high voltage which can be inverted through AC current or alternative current only.

Battery can be charged during scooter run on petrol. Device can also be installed additional. Think it over.
Charging battery consumes energy and providing that energy from petrol engine is not worth.

battery may get heated as underseat storage always gets heat from engine. it is not a good idea to keep batteries where outside temperature is higher. that's why the self start battery is kept separately in leg space in active 6g

Instead of BLDC Hub motor, Mid Drive Motor would be far better in term of long lasting performance, reliability & daily operational...
Just imagine with your current BLDC MOTOR setup...if you rear tyre got punctured or if it required to remove tyre for repair or change tyre then local mechanic would ruin down the whole setup. 😢😢
