The public vote was really weird. 5 points to Spain? UK didn't get many, yet other songs that were DULL got masses. VERY odd. Still, despite that the whole show was FANTASTIC, and hugely entertaining!!
UK was one of, if not the dullest song in the final, and it also wasn’t very well performed. Surprised it didn’t end up in last place tbh
@@siebenoel705 me too. Deserved last place. So, so boring and dull!
I mean, UK's singer couldn't sing live. They shouldn't have gotten anymore points than they did, tbh.
UK was bad live
Spain was beautiful but their song would never be able to get through and please such a wide audience , people like songs that everyone can sing along with like Finland
wow the new system saved France
cause we had a lot a "little" points like between 1 ans 3 that you can't see with the old system
If they had never switched voting systems after 2015:
- Käärijä would have overtaken Lordi for Finland's highest score of all time.
- Loreen would not have been able to overtake Loreen for Sweden's highest score of all time, and would have even failed to overtake Måns for the second highest score Sweden had ever achieved.
(Note that with the actual voting systems, Finland 2021 and Sweden 2022 were each country's respective highest scores ever before 2023. This is why the assumption requires that the new voting system was never used.)
In 2012 there was 42 votes instead of 38 so she could been in range of 372
@Kieran Edmunds But would she have claimed 12-point scores from the 4 or 5 countries that didn't show up this year? The "rest-of-the-world" vote (which didn't exist until now) only afforded her 7 points. My guessing, she would have earned maybe another 40 jury points and another 25 televote points. The composite would have left her maybe a few points ahead of or behind Måns, with her jury score dragging her down (265-275 vs. 296 in 2012).
In 2006 there was a few country which voting with jury and all others vote televotes, that mean it's not same system what 2015 is
Justice for Serbia and Slovenia 😢
Thanks for calculating this, it’s interesting to look through!
He didn't calculate, it's up on the net, he just made the video
So...31 points on the old system separated Loreen from Käärijä. Getting nearly twice the number of jury points to her nearest competitor (Noa from Israel) sealed the deal; and Käärija was too far back on the jury scorecard; he definitely needed at least 200. ☹️
imagine if Sweden gave 30 of their jury points to Finland. Her lead would still be giant (which is crazy to me) with 310 and Finland 180. The fact that Käärija would have surpassed her by 3 points... Now that would have been a great climax to this finale but how was Finland ever going to score 190 televote points more than Sweden... And not to hate on Loreen but her song was yes, a great eurovision song but I truly can't see it as a winning song
Hypothetical situation on how Finland could have won:
If Loreen got the same amount of points she got now and Finland got the same amount of jury points (150), Finland should have got at least 434 points from televoters. And that's 10 points less than the maximum amount of points a country could get (444) this year. So yeah. Talking about impossible
@@l1lium I thought Israel would be the spoiler. Had Noa received 243 televote points, Loreen would have been the one left with 185 and finished one point short.
@@CookyMonzta yup. But the moment Finland got televote points I counted how much points Sweden needed and immediately knew it's not enough... I knew Sweden would get at least 200 points because she's Loreen and the song was playing EVERYWHERE so how would they get less points :D
So fuck? The better song won. Sorry. Are you still listening to that song about pina colatas? No? Loreen is still top 20 across Europe. Lol.
Not la Zarra and Blanca Paloma getting even worse results 🥲 the highlight is Bejba getting 16th place instead of 19th ❤️🔥
Absolutely. Bejba was robbed by the juries. So was Alessandra, but she's 5th with both systems. Great, that Blanka is 16th instead of 19th, also Austria 12th instead of 15th. Yes, La Zarra and Blanca are even robbed more, which is sad, the running order really didn't do them any favors.
😭😭😭😭
i thought y'all said bejba was corrupted and now y'all rooting for her??

The fact that Belgium got more points than France, Spain, Austria, Czechia… I wanna strangle the juries
Somehow the results would've been even worse 💀
Blanca Paloma even getting a worse result 😭
What's the difference between the old version and the current version? I thought it was a 50/50 split for both versions.
the old version has the jury and televoting combined to one score. each country had to rank every song from 1st to last place. after that they had the final ranking and based on that the points were awarded.
@@ESCxCan I knew that, I just assumed that both versions would result in the same ranking.
😊
I asume this is the 2009-2012 system, in which juries and televote points were added, and the country who scored the most got the 12, then the 10...
Old was their avrage lets say that finland got 26 in jurie but 2 in tele from the uk they would get 14 as avrage and maybe didn’t get points from the uk
Listening to this I'm again confused why so many juries ignored so many songs. I just don't get it.
they really, REALLY wanted Loreen to win no matter what
Iam still baffled by the fact that Armenia and France is not in the top 10
How did you calculate this with the 2013-2015 system when we haven’t got the full 1st-25th/26th rankings yet? Or are they published and I have just not seen them?
they are out
How you can make this system? I have understand never 🧐
Can someone do the entire old voting style sequence?
ofc if the pre-2016 system was used, the semifinal results would have been different too
What's the difference between this system and the current one?
Wasn't then jury/televotes also 50/50, but the points were combined?
Based on my understanding (I don't know the details so I may be a bit wrong) the difference is:
In the new system both viewers and the jury give 1-12 points. So each country gives two sets of points from 1 to 12, one is from the jury and one is from the viewers.
In the previous system it was 50/50 and combined but the results were combined prior to giving the points so each country only gave one set of points from 1-12. (The highest ranked 12 and so on). So in the old system the 11 highest ranked countries based on the combined points got the points. In this one 11 highest ranked from the jury and 11 highest ranked from the televote get them separately. So the numbers are not necessarily the same as they would be if the old system was still use.
It's the 10 highest scores, not 11 (from 1 to 8, and 10 and 12).
@@abc4607 You are absolutely right, it is 10. I have no idea why I wrote 11 in my comment, must have been typing it in hurry. I think I remembered there is no 11 but for some reason completely forgot to exclude 9.
But well, at least the main point of my comment still stands.
Where can you find where the votes came from for the televote?
you can find the ranking of every country on eurovision.tv to get the averages for the old voting system.
Whats the diffrence in the old voting system?
in the old voting system the jury and televoting were combined to one score. each country had to rank every song from 1st to last place. after that they had the final ranking and based on that the points were awarded.
SLOVENIA DESERVED BETTER
Hmm, I believe it deserved worse. It was the least memorable song and performance of the whole night. I can't think of a single song that I would place lower. I don't even know the melody of it

Aside from the obvious top 2, this was a year where NO ONE got it right and I'm so glad too. Spain didn't deserve the hype it got and right got last from the public vote
*obvious top 3 imo lmao
Wdym. Loreen sucked. Finland overrated as well. Don't even get me started on Israel
@@methatis3013 I agree about Sweden (nowhere near as good as Euphoria) and Isreal, but Finland's was a real performance and the crowd loved it!
@@methatis3013yep I’ve been watching since 2015 and this was my least favourite year to date. Comparing it to 2021 I’m sure if just one of Barbara Pravi, Gjon’s Tears, Dadi, Go_A or Dark side performed their song this year they would’ve won.
Spain had the best vocal performance by far! Absolutely did not deserve last with the public.
If Israel hadn't given Ukraine 8 points in the televotes, then Noa would have been 4th in the televotes instead of 5th...
Israel did not deserve top 10 Like every year. Eurovision is a political/commercial festival
Im form Israel and when I think about it we *maybe* could get every year even more points from the televotes but it interesting how many people decide to not vote for us because of politics even if our song is their favorite.
@@nice143 Finnish televote gave Sweden zero... I see no other reason than they didn´t want to vote for their worst enemy at the contest... I think that´s rather bad... even if I do admit being swedish
@@martinbertilsson1654 true, I also believe that's the reason behind it. I also like to know, where they landed in each other's televote. 2 years ago, Italian televoters only gave one point to France and the French jury placed Italy in 11th position due to 2 members really underrating Måneskin. I'm curious to know how all of this worked out this time around, including detailed jury results. Wow, that's when neighbors who actually have a record of giving most points to each other, become enemies.
@@in_wino_veritas The jury points is a bit more complexed and I don´t have the method of calculate it but there is a exponent-rate so a song that is disliked by a jurymember don´t drop too much if the rest have them top 3... Each jury member make a list from 1 to 26 (in final)... so if all five have a song top 10... while another song is perhaps number 1 for two members while being below 10 or even 20... it´s still higher placed in the end... so you just don´t add the numbers... This way it´s also trickier to fix the voting pattern and you don´t see the score until all is done... (As I see it and I´m good at math...)
Another point for the old system for putting Austria and Czechia higher. At least I think it does.
But overall, I have to say: No matter if old or new system - the best song (Finland) loses against the most boring song of the evening next to Italy. So we need neither the new nor the old, but a system that gives 26 points for all participants. So Germany at least gets a place they deserve.
Czechia is one position lower
Czechia isn't higher....
So Sweden is boring to you, but that doesn't mean it's boring. It's an amazing song, and so is Cha Cha Cha, however, Finland is not winner worthy because his vocals aren't great and it's a meme song, this is why so many people don't care about Eurovision because people like you want to vote for Finland or Croatia because they're catchy meme songs rather than actual music that people will forever listen to and remember
@@S_H_A_R_N_I_E thank you for your answer and point of view. Inspired me to think more about it. You are right about the first part: I should have said that in my opinion, the song from Sweden is boring. Because in the end, everything is just a personal opinion and nothing to state as a fact. However, I don't agree to your point of view of Cha Cha Cha only being a meme song like Croatia. The main difference between Finland and Croatia was: Finland was music. First of all, the instrumental of the song had levels, dynamics and very cool sounds. Secondly, the song itself is built in an interesting way to have the verses, the aggressive chorus and the happy part in the end in which it sounds less like rock and more like Techno. So third, it covered different genres in one song. Compared to that, Croatia has a bad melody, worse singers, lame song structure and an ok instrumental.
So you see: Finland is not just a meme song, but made in a very professional way. So you cannot say that people who voted for Finland, only vote for meme songs. I am really interested in the contest because of the songs and listen to them a lot for years!
Thanks to everyone who read this. Wish you an amazing day.
@@meli-loves-music But you don't speak about not great Kaarija's vocals. It's a fact.
Cyprus: basic ass song, fake vocals, basic staging = 9th place
Spain: original song, meaningful staging, flawless voice = 20th place
Yeah I'm still pretty shocked about my country's placement. Can't believe those 5 televote points
Televote doesn't care if it's sung live or whether the artist relied heavily on the pre-recorded backing track. See: Finland.
@@lb2419facts

I must have horrible music taste because my favourite songs went last, apart from England
Old voting system was about 100 % jury voting. Finland was 4th with juries. This is not correct, I thinkl
old voting system was televoting and jury voting combined.

I'm convinced Israel got so money points because of her great looks rather than singing quality. The Switzerland guy had such a strong voice and he placed badly compared to her.
Saying that a woman only placed this high on voting just because of her looks feels pretty sexist tbh. She sounded great, she danced great, had a catchy song and an entertaining performance. That’s why people loved it, no need to look for any other bs “reason”.

Okay I hated italy...isreal had the worse lyrics ever....norway and Finland got robbed...why always sweden? I don't get eurovision anymore....And germany was way better than half of the other songs...shame
Because next year will be 50th anniversary of ABBA winning, so they wanna make it in Sweden 🌚
I thought Norway was better too, if we're comparing female vocals and songs.
Why sweden? The juries like songs that have deeper meanings. Finland's one didnt, it was a happy party song, nothing more really. And lets face it, Loreen was a tier above Käärja in the quality of singing. Ah, and I voted for Finland and wanted them to win btw, but I understand why Loreen won.

Israel's lyrics make sense once you understand she is singing about how Israel precieved in the world. Feeling like we are misunderstood and on our own, wanting to change the situation we are in, and Unicorn is a term for start-ups that are worth more then 1 billion dollars (something Israel is known to produce and makes our economy thrive despite the challenges we face)
umh the points aren´t right, Finland got most points...
in the televotes yes, but this is the old voting system.
Spain is lower in the old system. One point for the old system 🎉
as an Albanian i was a bit upset for Albina but how in the world Spain got so low!?
To me it looks that Eurovision doesn't want to respect traditions anymore just gay, generic songs and all those "innovative fun bullshit songs"
Currupt still with the sympathy vote for the part hosts 🙄🙄
Choke on your venom
Finland still wouldn't win. 💀 Cha Cha Cha fans need finally bury the hatchet.
Finland deserve first place🙏
omg get over it you guys are exhausting
@@september5671 we can’t 💔Sweden won dishonestly
@@user-wt7zu1eh4w It’s the rules. If you don’t accept the rules then don’t participate in the contest. Simple. It’s not like it’s the first time the country with most televotes lost. You’ll have to get over it just like previous loosers did.
@@user-wt7zu1eh4w dishonestly? ? ?
Don't smoke crack
@@user-wt7zu1eh4w Sweden won fair and square...
These are NOT the results points !
as you can see in the title, these are the results with the old voting system.
Copy paste
ban the jurys
At least juries placed Spain on 9th place
@@verybadguy4427 spain was great

@@mike8869 yea say thanks to the juries for saving them
completely disagree. The juries choose multiple countries whereas if it was just the pople it would just be between sweden and finland so no point in any other countries.
Croatia was robbed of top 5 smh
If Croatia should not have reached the final.😅
People being mad at the voting, me being mad bc Isreal is still allowed in ESC 🙃
Stay mad 🇮🇱
🇪🇺❤🇮🇱
If I never have to hear Loreen again in my life, I'll be happy.
Israelllll👑🇮🇱❤️🦄
Sweden was a cover version of V Plenu by Mika Newton. Nill points
I thought it was a poor cover of Euphoria.
They are not even close. It's laughable that people are trying to use this as an excuse to knock Sweden.
@@karenporter4227 She's singing a cover version, the ESC is solely for original song writing, with some allowances; Ukraine basing their '20 and '21 songs on old folk songs, but not a direct steal like this.Months ago there was an outcry when it was first released- 'Thats Mika Newton 's song! Stop! But they shamelessly carried on.
@@sandydennylives1392 Finland has also been accused of plagiarizing Electric Callboy, which is also laughable, and those songs are closer in terms of sounding similar.
