I'm so curious what horrible take is going to happen for some teams that barely have any overrated players. Teams like OKC, Pelicans or even the Knicks, barely have anyone that can be called overrated. Even a guy like Randle that is criticized often is actually underrated usually, considering the overall opinion of the NBA fans.
As a die hard Kings fan, saying Sabonis is so short sighted and a lot of recency bias. Still put up 16/11/5 in the playoffs, when our shooters (Huerter and Barnes) did not show up at all. If you watched the Kings Rusty, you’d know a lot of Sabonis’ offensive game is reliant on the scorers around him too. Can’t ignore the fact he helped break the playoff drought, lead the league in rebounding, 2nd in triple doubles, all star, and 3rd team all NBA. The overrated title should go to Huerter. Wildly inconsistent and a non factor when his 3 is not hitting.
@@Josephburroughs3 exactly. People fail to realize when 2 of your starters who shot 41% and 38% from 3 in the regular season drop to 25 and 20, it shrinks the floor and renders Sabonis’ passing game less effective and exposes his offensive weaknesses. Hopefully Sabonis’ hand heals over summer and he can work on driving right more and that mid range. Go Kings!

For Toronto, I think the answer should be O.G. Anunoby. On literally every podcast I listen to, people are constantly proposing OG Anunoby trades like he's the answer to every flailing team's problems. Look, I get that wings who can defend and shoot are valuable. But he's not some star. He's entering Year 7 and his development has been stagnant for three years now. He's stiff and mechanical on offense, and not capable of a heavy scoring load. His defense is very good, but he's not going to singlehandedly solve the defensive issues of the teams people keep wanting to put him on.
I think there are two areas that puts OG higher than you agree with. OG is not a very good defensive player he is an excellent defensive player and has been for years. Yes defense is not as important as offence but a top 10 D in his prime who is not a negative on O is very rare. Which brings to the second point he has a skill set that would improve every team in the league and is even more important in the playoffs. For the Lakers it's clearly Lebron. He plays no defense. Actually watch the games this season and you'll easily see he stands around 90% of the time with his hands at his side. On offense if he doesn't have the ball doing his bowling ball freight train to the basket where he shoves off he's standing at the 3 pt line doing nothing. Because he's incapable of playing off the ball. This is why Wade had to take a step back/adjust his game in Miami. Because lebron was incapable of playing off the ball. He's never been able to play off the ball. You can't be a great player if you're only able to play one way. Like I said, watch the Lakers play this season and watch lebron on offense when he doesn't have the ball. And watch him on defense. Don't watch where the ball is, that's what casual fans do, watch lebron the entire time.
I agree with you 100%, he has numbers, but they are not meaning anything. Davies is the best player there and he is more then half of Lakers defense. What’s so damning about KD is that every team he’s on gets hyped and favored to oblivion even though he’s shown he’s not that guy and they lose and “disappoint” every year. Watch it happen this year in PHX🙄
Kd problem is he can’t get to the rim at all so he takes tough shots which causes his playoff drops these last past 3 years as a kd my expectations has dropped for him as the guy if people do that then he won’t be overrated
@@JHill23Kd can get to the rim he just refuses to go left sometimes for whatever reason. There were countless times where he was forcing up shots with 12+ seconds left on the clock instead of trying to move the ball around or go for a hop step or spin gather. It seems like KD is more focused on keeping his game the way it was before he got injured as opposed to improving upon the weaker parts of his game. His playmaking ability has definitely declined from his days in OKC and GS
Give kd a healthy team with no distractions where they can just focus on hoop he almost damn near wins a championship or gets he’s team to the conference finals at least it’s been like that for the last 12 years
@@JHill23 Exactly! He’s clearly not the same beast he was in OKC and GS and that’s okay! He’s a one-dimensional scorer who’s still top 10 bc of his efficiency but it’s so clear that he can’t lead a team to a title as the bonafide guy and ppl have to accept that
For the Raptors, it’s absolutely OG. He isn’t going to ever be an allstar and the franchise wanted 4+ firsts for him. Dude is a good role player, that’s it
@@fortynights1513 All I hear about him on Offense is that he can shoot 3s, and probably dunk. Classic 3 and D, but everyone wants that. I think Toronto just doesn't want to trade him, unless they get a Gobert style overpay. :D
I would have picked Marcus Smart for the Memphis Grizzlies. Maybe he's only overrated by analysts and Boston fans, idk. But I'm so tired of hearing announcers talk about his "grit" and "hustle," or how he "makes big shots" or is the "soul of the team." And I swear Boston fans would have rather traded Jayson Tatum. It's funny how "intangibles" are always evoked when a player isn't actually good at the tangibles. He also shouldn't have won DPOY. He only won it because Boston was the best defense. He wasn't even the best defender on his own team, let alone in the entire NBA.
@@VonJaye Curry and Poole got through Smart no problem. Same with Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin. Mazulla's biggest mistake this last postseason imo was playing Horford too much and not giving Williams more minutes. I'd rather give up some floor spacing for better overall defense and rim protection. They could've forced Bam into drop coverages more often as well instead of forcing 3s for a better scoring output tbh. Bam was their only rim protector worth worrying about in a post season setting
yeah but he can’t do anything about that. not like anyone says he is anymore, and he doesn’t play bad, and no one really talks about him. he just has a contract worth more than his production which isn’t uncommon in the NBA nowadays
Everyone knew Tobias Harris was overrated by the front office the moment he got that contract and there was no opposition from the fanbase, nobody says he deserves it or something... Maybe in an overpayed players top he would be the Sixers' pick.
Kuminga 100%. I’ve heard people claim he could become like early-career LeBron James, and I’m not sure if they’ve never understood how great LeBron always was or If they have no idea how to evaluate talent. Both, probably.
It’s so sad what happened to the bulls, Lonzo was one of their main defenders, best 3 point shooter, and the main half court facilitator. They were a scary team when they were all healthy.
100% agree on Adams, despite him being a personal favourite of mine. He is the Westbrook of centers, the team can only play around him one way, and he's not that good in that one thing to make it viable in the playoffs. Rare case of good 25 minutes in the regular season and preferably 0 on the PO.
The bulls is Demar by far. Can't play off ball, can't defend, can't playmake, medocre high volume scorer. Lavine can at least be a good off ball scorer
Tbh as a Knicks fan I think you got the pick wrong but I respect that you didn’t jus immediately go to Randle like everyone else. Mitchell Robinson can’t really shoot but his role in the system generally works pretty good. The answer to me is RJ Barrett IMO. Knicks fans will swear he’s on track to be an all star but he’s kinda jus a 20ppg scorer on pretty terrible efficiency without much defense. I still think he can improve but rn he’s kinda inconsistent and can sometimes be a liability on the court
He’s own thing I’ll say about JB. I have seen like TWO positive posts about him this off-season. I feel like he gets too much hate to be overrated. I get the Celtics don’t have many. It would easily have been either Marcus or Grant W based on the offseason reaction to them leaving. Although it could just be Celtics hate idk.
Having KD on here is unbelievably stupid. Last season, whenever he missed time the Nets and Suns had losing records. Rusty needs to watch more games instead of hating on KD so much.
Lakers: Anthony Davis Clippers: Paul George Nuggets: Aaron Gordon Suns: Bradley Beal Kings: DeAaron Fox Timberwolves: Jaden McDaniels Thunder: Lu Dort Spurs: Keldon Johnson Jazz: Jordan Clarkson Rockets: Kevin Porter Jr. Blazers: Anfernee Simons Grizzlies: Jaren Jackson Jr. Warriors: Draymond Green Mavericks: Kyrie Irving Pelicans: Herb Jones Celtics: Jayson Tatum Hawks: DeAndre Hunter Cavaliers: Darius Garland Raptors: Gary Trent Jr. Bulls: Zach Lavine Pacers: Buddy Hield Magic: Wendell Carter Jr. Pistons: Cade Cunningham HEAVILY Wizards: Jordan Poole Nets: Dorian Finney Smith Hornets: PJ Washington Heat: Kyle Lowry Knicks: Mitchell Robinson Sixers: Joel Embiid (love him) Bucks: Bobby Portis
Actually I expected it to be Jayson Tatum for the celtics and not Brown. I mean all the analytics hype him up before the regular season and in the regular season as the Superstar with the abnormal carry potential and title contender. Which he always fails to deliver, except of that one good game vs Philly. But I guess your opinion will propably change when Tatum gets his contract extension.
3 minutes in and I am like "what in the world?" So Jaylen is over-rated because of his contract but then Joel is over-rated on his team and not Tobias Harris? The team literally chose Tobias Harris over Jimmy Butler. The fact that he has not come up in trade discussions is ridiculous. The Bucks... you could have went with Lopez or Portis easily over Drue. For the Celtics I think Tatum was low hanging fruit. We all act like he is the next Kobe but who are you really giving up for him? Yes, he was a MVP candidate... so are you giving up Steph Curry for him? Durant? You know non-MVP candidates? Because no one is trading the other MVP candidates for him nor are they trading several non-MVP candidates.
I believe dort is one of the best on ball defender's 1-3 plus the way he navigates screens is easily up there. Hes a class ball hawk and extremely valuable for okc and other teama that rely on portability and defensive strengths. Yh he shoots too much atm but chip English. Also hes a young player thats not seen as more than a valuable starter for the okc. Doesn't scream overrated.
KD does not get enough criticism for how badly he’s underachieved after leaving GS. Analysts and fans think he’s got a Lebron like impact on the team he joins. He’s still an amazing stat guy but he’s not a top 5 player in the league anymore
As a Timberwolves fan, KAT is overhated similarly to Rudy. Our most overrated player is Jaden McDaniels by our own fanbase; he is the best on-ball defender in the league already statistically, though some fans talk about him making an offensive leap like he's about to become Kawhi Leonard.

What has really been pissing me off is heating people say Jerami Grant is better than Aaron Gordon when we literally saw Jerami in that exact same system not even start. Don’t tell me his game has improved either.
Beal is so clearly the most overrated player in Phoenix its not even close
Give kd a healthy team with no distractions where they can just focus on hoop he almost damn near wins a championship or gets he’s team to the conference finals at least it’s been like that for the last 12 years
@@JHill23 Exactly! He’s clearly not the same beast he was in OKC and GS and that’s okay! He’s a one-dimensional scorer who’s still top 10 bc of his efficiency but it’s so clear that he can’t lead a team to a title as the bonafide guy and ppl have to accept that
Glad this topic was revisited
Fully agree with vanderbilt. So many missed opportunities with his terrible hands. Cant catch shit or shoot
The average NBA fan wasn’t watching the Nuggets. And I doubt that’ll change.
- a nuggets fan
For the Raptors, it’s absolutely OG. He isn’t going to ever be an allstar and the franchise wanted 4+ firsts for him. Dude is a good role player, that’s it
I generally hear that he’s a good two way player. Is that accurate?
@@fortynights1513 All I hear about him on Offense is that he can shoot 3s, and probably dunk. Classic 3 and D, but everyone wants that. I think Toronto just doesn't want to trade him, unless they get a Gobert style overpay. :D
How is Mitch a fine starter. He led the NBA in offensive rebounds and most important part of top defense
Ok rusty 13:48 I salute you lol. Wish I wasn’t drinking when I hear that.
"The media is not saying dick about Cam Johnson"
damn.
You just talking out the side of your ass he definitely was the best defender on Boston
Who’s a better defender on Boston at that point?
@@fortynights1513Time Lord
@@yourbarber6732 you have to get through smart to get to time lord
@@VonJaye Curry and Poole got through Smart no problem. Same with Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin. Mazulla's biggest mistake this last postseason imo was playing Horford too much and not giving Williams more minutes. I'd rather give up some floor spacing for better overall defense and rim protection. They could've forced Bam into drop coverages more often as well instead of forcing 3s for a better scoring output tbh. Bam was their only rim protector worth worrying about in a post season setting
To say KD is overrated in the suns team is Cap.
Cap? You mean fair? Or unfair?
@fortynights1513 he mean unfair asf
That shot at Paul Pierce 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Whoa Embid is overrated but not Tobias Harris? Dude’s been getting paid like a max player these couple years and hasn’t been a all star
yeah but he can’t do anything about that. not like anyone says he is anymore, and he doesn’t play bad, and no one really talks about him. he just has a contract worth more than his production which isn’t uncommon in the NBA nowadays
Harris had more points than him in a game 7
Everyone knew Tobias Harris was overrated by the front office the moment he got that contract and there was no opposition from the fanbase, nobody says he deserves it or something... Maybe in an overpayed players top he would be the Sixers' pick.
Rustys fear of raptors fans is real lmao. I'll say it, Scottie barnes is overrated
Kuminga 100%. I’ve heard people claim he could become like early-career LeBron James, and I’m not sure if they’ve never understood how great LeBron always was or If they have no idea how to evaluate talent. Both, probably.
Kuminga barely has any play time and the playtime he’s had his potential has shown to be a great 2 way player
On the Bulls, Lonzo was the main facilitator and unfortunately his absence due to his injury, effected everybody else on the team.
It’s so sad what happened to the bulls, Lonzo was one of their main defenders, best 3 point shooter, and the main half court facilitator. They were a scary team when they were all healthy.
@@drippnjimmy1033 That was his best season career wise within 35 games.
As a raptors fan I was pretty surprised to hear you say no one lol
This is an amazing video.
Remember when the Timberwolf though that Zach can run the point guard what a time 🤣
That hate you have for KD needs to be studied it’s genuinely sad
Its nasty as well
Saying Jaylen brown only played that well this past season because it was a contract year is insane
We'll see this year. Although he might also just ask for a trade.
@@shorewall wtf are you yapping about

As a Kiwi it hurts hearing Steve be mentioned 😅 I get it though. At least he'll go down as one of the best screeners of all time 😂
Oh damn rusty, yoo PAUSEE that kd talk was wild loll
Looking forward to that video
@@fortynights1513 yo u fire monn loll
Tyus Jones in that image is ridiculous
you're the only one to comment on it so congrats - rudy
i’m sure this video is going to be well received and draw 0 controversy
the tiny rant on dillon brooks cracked me up lol
Well deserved for the most part. Guy is definitely overpaid, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there are others who are more overrated in discourse.
100% agree on Adams, despite him being a personal favourite of mine. He is the Westbrook of centers, the team can only play around him one way, and he's not that good in that one thing to make it viable in the playoffs. Rare case of good 25 minutes in the regular season and preferably 0 on the PO.
As a Dubs fan I myself maybe overrate Kuminga but having CP3 this year hypes me up for JK. Kinda shocked he didn't say Klay tbh.
Honestly I just want Kuminga to be at least a solid rotation player for the dubs.
That image of a cat for KAT
The bulls is Demar by far. Can't play off ball, can't defend, can't playmake, medocre high volume scorer. Lavine can at least be a good off ball scorer
I remember the days when rusty buckets said that Collin sexton would be on future all defensive teams
who is the player in the bulls jersey in the thumbnail?
Wolves one is so on point everyone knows whos overrated and underrated on that team pretty much
Tbh as a Knicks fan I think you got the pick wrong but I respect that you didn’t jus immediately go to Randle like everyone else.
You had to pick somebody but didnt pick anyone for the Raps, who as a team, is freaking overrated lol😂
Great video 👍
THANK YOU for not saying Beef Stew, like so many of Pistons Twitter.
For the sixers I would say it’s Tyrese Maxey. The sixers have said that they wouldn’t trade him for prime MJ, LBJ or Giannis.
He’s own thing I’ll say about JB. I have seen like TWO positive posts about him this off-season. I feel like he gets too much hate to be overrated. I get the Celtics don’t have many. It would easily have been either Marcus or Grant W based on the offseason reaction to them leaving. Although it could just be Celtics hate idk.
love him but Scottie Barnes is overrated on the raps
Imo Sabonis was the 3rd best C during the regular season. But not the playoffs obviously
Bam was prolly better overall cuz of his defense plus he averaged 20 on 55%
Please make that video about Kevin Durant lmao!!!!
Having KD on here is unbelievably stupid. Last season, whenever he missed time the Nets and Suns had losing records. Rusty needs to watch more games instead of hating on KD so much.

10:40 ill always remember kelly oubre for laying out Kelly olynk weak ah 😭
As a clippers fan ,bones has been an upgrade, hes actually been a fan favorite, you should have said Morris 🤣
Flip that around with Tatum. Who would Boston trade him for? Jokic. Luka. Not Steph, not Embiid. Maybe Giannis?
I’m obviously super biased but the Lu Dort take sounds like something a troll on twitter would say
Mobley has been in the NBA for two years Jacob. Give it another 3 years and we'll call this take fair.
Agree on Sexton, as of today, hasn't leaped yet as a playmaker. Other than him, non-Jazz fanbases don't overrate anyone tbh.
lu dort is definitely on the timberwolves
I was like WTH when I saw the Pistons prioritizing Wiseman over Duren for the starting Center position last year.
He says Jrue and then he gets traded for Damian Lillard lol
I’ll always miss the Lavine intro
As somebody from Toronto ….respect sir 🫡
Lol
He is not a winner, he will not win you a chip as the best player. Never has, never will.
You live in Charlotte?
Got a lot of cuts in the editing in this video 😂
Jrue Holiday is still overrated in some circles of CZcams. Love TTW but Jrue Holiday is not better than Trae Young
Rusty I love you to death but how did you not put Lamelo for the hornets?
As a Timberwolves fan, KAT is overhated similarly to Rudy. Our most overrated player is Jaden McDaniels by our own fanbase; he is the best on-ball defender in the league already statistically, though some fans talk about him making an offensive leap like he's about to become Kawhi Leonard.
Are you going to talk about fiba wc?
I think he only watches nba
Im just glad you didn't say AR15. I think he tells us exactly who hecis when he screams, "Im HIM!"
