  • There was an unexpected rendering glitch in the original video. It was re-rendered and uploaded. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for all the support! Martina and I go looking at houses around Leon and Sutiava for Allen & Ana who are looking to move from the beach to the city. We especially check out Santa Marta and Los Altos de Veracruz in Sutiava.

    Again, excellent showing/channel. I keep repeating myself from other videos from Scott's channel; I hope to find something similar when I move there. Great houses, especially that first one, Wow! Great finding for whoever ends up getting that one.
    I also hope to be able to meet Scott himself (some thanks will be in order).

    Look at all them mangos on the ground!!! I remember when I was a kid, mangos on the ground was a pain for me, because I had to clean the yard of my house. Damn parakeets will come in hordes and bite the mangos and make them drop to the ground. I hated them little bastards 😂😂😂😂

      None of the houses there look at that old. It appears like a really recent development. Was it just cleared land and a house or two for a long time?

    Scott, great blog, really informative. Thank you! I am wondering do you think there might be some way of looking at the renal cost/data to pull comparisons?

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah, I think so. WHen I'm back in country (like in five days) I'll be looking into making connections and putting together some kind of online housing showcase with a lot of data (locations, sizes, features, costs.) Nothing that I'm selling or promoting, just "look at all these cool houses." We've already got a group for real estate that wants to provide us houses to showcase.

    Scott, what is the sq footage or meters on these properties? Lot size? As always amazing content 🙌

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  Před 2 lety +1

      I think the Fatima location (to be shown on Monday) is the smallest. I'd guess around 1000 sq ft. Maybe just a tad smaller. The largest would be the Veracruz property which I'd estimate around 1600 sq ft. The colonial that we didn't show is over 2000 sq ft, but as a non-enclosed property square footage isn't a solid thing and you have to see it to understand how it applies in that circumstance.
      Lot sizes varied a lot. Fatima the lot and the house were almost the same. So maybe 2000 sq ft of lot maximum. But the Veracruz the lot was very large. Most of them had tiny lots with only small breezeways between them and the next building.

    Awesome information as always. Question to you. What would be the cost to rent a 1 bed 1 bath apartment in Leon for 1 month? Or for that short period of time would staying in a cheaper hotel be better? For example: I stay in Panajachel Guatemala every February. My goto hotel is $200 for the month but I have also stayed in beautiful apartments that cost about $400 for the month.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  Před 2 lety +2

      I think AirBnB or Hotel will be best for just one month. Most good rental are going to require at least six months.

    I think if we were going to buy it would be in Matagalpa and not sure but I think we would want a small place downtown so we can walk to everything. Not sure what the downside would be except maybe noisy ?
    Thx Scott !

      Unless you want a big yard space or something. Downtown is a great option. Very walkable and so much to do.

    Hi, Scott. You are very informative with your videos. Lots of info and insight in a condensed presentation. I remember you said that you had imported an olympus camera using NicoBox, or similar. Kindly give us a short video on the company that you used and your experiences with costs etc. I have lived in Ecuador since 2005 with my family and use a company in Florida. Ecuador allows 4X4, 4 kilos and USD400 free of taxes. Anything similar in Nicaragua? What is customs and the Post Office system like with imported goods? Many thanks for your attention. James.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog

    The prices are monthly rent. Not to purchase. What might the utilities cost?

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  Před 2 lety +1

      Correct, monthly rent. This is looking for friends who want a two or three bedroom home for two people, one of whom needs a home office. They are renting while doing construction on their own land. So just looking at rentals right at the moment.
      Utilities are sometimes included, but not normally in these kinds of places. However, as Martina has explained to me and I need to get her to talk about on a video, utilities cost the most in the core of the city and as you get farther out the cost drops (not what you'd expect.)
      So Internet is basically the same and will often be about $30-$35 for fiber. Power is higher cost than in the USA so figure around $200 unless you can do without AC then it's insanely low. You don't need to use a lot typically given the lifestyle and more efficient cooling, but it is hot so you might cool more. Water and sewer are super cheap. I don't see the bills but they are tiny. I assume like $20. I'll see if I can find more details.

    • @ScottAlanMillerVlog
      @ScottAlanMillerVlog  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah. And these are fancy places. If you want to go more local the prices drop a lot further.
