Is it just me or does anyone else get excited for these videos until the moment prime says aliexpress?
This is the exact kind of mini desktop PC form factor I have been hoping for, looks fantastic.
I get it, but these computers cost 2x as much as you could build one in an atx case.Its all soldered to the mobo .If the gpu goes out because of its soldered your kind of screwed.
It's literally just a laptop without the screen.
The Intel Enthusiast 12 Serpent Canyon for 700 bucks is unbeatable at the moment. (16GB a770m, 12700H, 3 Videoports, 2 x Thunderbolt4, 3 years warranty) The 4060 (128-bit bus) in the G4 Edge is more efficient, but $1743.42. In 1440p or 2160p it struggles in many games against the arc, that's drivers are getting better and better. ETA PRIME should consider a retest!
@kyles8524 most ppl don't want to build a gaming PC. They think it's too complicated. U forget how little effort the avg consumer wants to put in. That's why these pricier products keep selling
@@zerocal76if it cost more than laptop with same cpu and gpu combo, just buy gaming laptop then, mini pc with discrete gpu only make sense if it atlteast 20% cheaper than gaming laptop with same cpu + gpu combo
I love the idea of a mini-pc built from gaming laptop parts.
My only complaints is how impossible it is to find the exact model of this device. Not even searching it between the lines will get you the result you need. As good as this showcase are, it's not worth the search.

Depends on the price. For most people, a mini ITX build would be much better bang for your buck by using more powerful desktop components.
Prebuilt ones are just horrible. Building your own takes some effort, but it would be much better in every way.

Awesome little device! I already purchased the Minisforum 780 XTX though so will eventually get or build an eGPU at some point using the OcuLink port; definitely wanting to do Nvidia for ray tracing and either 12GB or 16GB RAM for whatever GPU I get set up. I'm still amazed that with just the 64GB model of the Minisforum and correct settings that I've been able to play some VR games at 120hz, even MSFS at medium settings (not sure about exact framerate, but is playable) to Meta Quest 3 with Steam Link and HL:Alyx low settings hitting consistent 55-62ftps with Virtual Desktop, looking forward to setting up some Cyberpunk2077 VR mods soon with that setup.
Have you used a Vive or Index on it as I am curious to hear those results.

These videos are so confusing. I've seen these AliExpress computers on this channel multiple times, but the way ETA Prime links it, it goes to like a search page and the computer he is showcasing is never on the search page. Am I just having bad luck in finding these or are other people running into the same issue? Maybe it's just a pre-release and the computer will eventually show up on the search ETA Prime provides.

I have a ASUS ROG GR8. it has a i7-4510u and a 750Ti.
This would be a great upgrade, and I agree that with a shared cooler AMD is probably a safer bet.

Cool form factor, however power draw is quite high... PCs need much higher performance per watt to get much closer to top Apple Mx ARM based chips which could be overclocked and fed with more power.
Looks like a preproduction unit. This is basically a laptop in a funky chassis and obviously no screen.

Question on the Cyberpunk2077 test with this - you mentioned that settings were set to Ultra - since this is an Nvidia GPU, did you have ray tracing on and if so at Low or what setting was used for it?

This is a serious question. I've been building pcs for over twenty years and don't know the answer to this. Having an apu and a gpu simultaneously. Do both show up in device manager? Can I use the apu for streaming and the gpu for gaming simultaneously?

Very nice PC :) Unfortunately I can't find it on net. What about quality though ? Is it as good as minis forum etc ? I am not talking about performance. I am talking about a pc that I won't have to repair in a few years and I run it daily for games and my work.

Id buy it, but it still is not available (2024 model, so it should be released over the next 3 months), and I'm quite concerned about thermal throttling... @ETA PRIME could you do an indepth test on that? Mini PCs often have trouble with thermal solutions... if they have one at all

You need to start saying whether RT is on or off in your game benchmarks. It basically means everything when we are trying to compare like for like with our own setups.

I have an old Ryzen 3100 that I bought like almost 2 years ago, paired with a hand me down 1060 and it’s wonderful.
It originally came with a FX CPU, but I need to see if my old 750ti works, then I’ll pair it with the 3100x (lowest power consumption PC)
I just got a job recently, and hoping after a year (rebuild my savings again) I can get a modern 75watt GPU, but that’s not really necessary.
The end goal for my SFF PC is a Ryzen 9 5800X3D (or Ryzen 9 5950x @60 watts) and an undervolted 4060 (it’s technically a 4050 as far as chipset goes)
That will be at least a year, after I get back to some form of financial health and GPU’s are cheaper/after Nvidia’s 5000 series.
no you didnt have an old fx cpu in it or maybe you did in the old one, lol the ryzen 3 3100 is AM4 the fx cpu's are AM3+ the pins wouldnt even match up,unless your talking about a new sff build you cant replace an fx cpu am3+ with an am4 cpu on the same board

Yes this is a specific concern for me. I want something to connect to my TV so I can play my steam library on the couch. I have a powerful laptop but it sounds like an airplane taking off when it is under load. I really want whatever I buy to run quietly.

I'm big on customer service and this being a pc from aliexpress and the undoubtedly huge price it's a big risk if it comes with problems. Not saying they won't fix it, just that it would likely take months to get it back...and they probably won't pay for the shipping and handling either which would cost a good chunk of change going to china.

There's another model but it's design is different and is the i7-13700F variant but still using the RTX4060M and is using the DDR4 RAM. Not sure how different it is in terms of performance compared to this device here (Ryzen 9 7940HS).

That computer case looks like it was "inspired" by the net gear Nighthawk ax8. Must be nice to "inspire" from other people's product lines.

it's small for a typical PC but if you consider that a rog zephyrus g14 is the same size with a monitor and half the thickness then it doesn't seem that small anymore
I was thinking about that too. I wonder if the 4060 thermal throttles in the zephyrus g14. Also wonder what the price difference would be.
@@landonkrussell idk where you can buy this G4 Edge Mini so don't know how much it costs but here in the UK ROG Zephyrus G14 is £1280 (tax included) with Ryzen 7 7735HS, 16G DDR5, 512G SSD and RTX 4060 with a 14" QHD+ screen. Older models with intel CPU suffered from thermal throttling but these AMD ones don't.

the shell of this thing is almost identical to the asus gr8 that was out about 10 years ago i had one! even the i.o on the back is identical. Its a bit bigger but they had definetley copied the asus design
